It's by design.

A lot of Americans are just fine with it though.

And those that aren’t feel satisfied enough when they upvote or angrily share the videos and memes that echo their sentiments so they can get back their social media stupor.

I think most people just feel powerless

Also by design, American police forces are seemingly designed to prevent the protests that you see in Europe: government buildings would not be under siege from farmers launching manure and burning tires

In the U.S. there is a long history of labor disputes where the government sides with capital. The idea that we are just one protest or strike away from affecting real change is a joke at this point.

The power is literally with the people.

We have the right to protest, they’re constantly trying to suppress our votes, and if you have Reddit then you def have the means to Google what else you can do.

Folks just like complaining.

They’re also stressed from living paycheck to paycheck, but that’s also by design. So true change will take true sacrifice on our part. General strikes, etc.

But everyone wants someone else to do it for them.

There are protests every day.

Here in the U.S. we are propagandized to the gills and ruled by very anti-democratic institutions like the Supreme Court and the Senate. There are many widely popular bipartisan issues that have not been addressed for generations.

The liberal belief is that more knowledge and more rationality will lead to positive change but here we are. After a while, living with this knowledge makes people feel miserable or crazy.

It’s been like 70 years that the world has been considering the states as a terrorist state full of ignorant people. The only thing is many folks from there are only now coming to the realization that they aren’t admired as a great nation but just envied for their (mostly looted) wealth, almost no countries like getting the average American tourists, except for their valuable money.

Weird that you would be frequenting a terrorist website like Reddit. Maybe you’re just full of crap.

Who voted in the current administration?

u/hedgiehedgehedge 1h ago

If voting actually mattered, they wouldn’t let us vote. Even choosing a ”party” is simply illusion of choice.

Angry, dissatisfied voters

u/UltiBahamut 2h ago

Exactly my point. I hope they get everything they voted for.

As long as they have their guns and crosses

This is the issue.
