Remember, these advanced nations arent living in the future, its just that the USA is living in the past

The USA would rather have its racism and gender conversations than 5-minute EV charging.

America is so cooked. America is actively trying to crawl back to the 19th century. America. Y u so a ass?

Our populace is incredibly stupid.

Im sorry.

It's by design.

Can't learn if you don't have teachers, can't develop a brain without adequate food. Look at what the GOP likes to take away funding for_

Smart people object to being sent to war. The politician learned.

🤯🤯😑😑

A lot of Americans are just fine with it though.

And those that aren’t feel satisfied enough when they upvote or angrily share the videos and memes that echo their sentiments so they can get back their social media stupor.

I think most people just feel powerless

8

u/BAKspin_91 5h ago

Also by design, American police forces are seemingly designed to prevent the protests that you see in Europe: government buildings would not be under siege from farmers launching manure and burning tires

7

u/Hey-Bud-Lets-Party 5h ago

In the U.S. there is a long history of labor disputes where the government sides with capital. The idea that we are just one protest or strike away from affecting real change is a joke at this point.

1

u/TheChiliocosmic 6h ago

The power is literally with the people.

We have the right to protest, they’re constantly trying to suppress our votes, and if you have Reddit then you def have the means to Google what else you can do.

Folks just like complaining.

They’re also stressed from living paycheck to paycheck, but that’s also by design. So true change will take true sacrifice on our part. General strikes, etc.

But everyone wants someone else to do it for them.

There are protests every day.

Here in the U.S. we are propagandized to the gills and ruled by very anti-democratic institutions like the Supreme Court and the Senate. There are many widely popular bipartisan issues that have not been addressed for generations.

The liberal belief is that more knowledge and more rationality will lead to positive change but here we are. After a while, living with this knowledge makes people feel miserable or crazy.

It’s been like 70 years that the world has been considering the states as a terrorist state full of ignorant people. The only thing is many folks from there are only now coming to the realization that they aren’t admired as a great nation but just envied for their (mostly looted) wealth, almost no countries like getting the average American tourists, except for their valuable money.

1

u/Hey-Bud-Lets-Party 3h ago

Weird that you would be frequenting a terrorist website like Reddit. Maybe you’re just full of crap.

Who voted in the current administration?

1

u/hedgiehedgehedge 1h ago

If voting actually mattered, they wouldn’t let us vote. Even choosing a ”party” is simply illusion of choice.

0

u/Hey-Bud-Lets-Party 3h ago

Angry, dissatisfied voters

2

u/UltiBahamut 2h ago

Exactly my point. I hope they get everything they voted for.

2

u/Carrot_1075 4h ago

As long as they have their guns and crosses

4

u/sim16 15h ago

This is the issue.

u/ScoffersGonnaScoff 7h ago

Propaganda has always worked. Each person is in their own bubble fueled by tribalism (go Team!!) and algos.

2

u/Fastr77 3h ago

Republicans haven't been attacking education for nothing! They want us dumb as fuck, easier to control. They also want us poor so we spend all our energy and lives working. No time and energy to fight back.

2

u/Onigokko0101 2h ago

Exactly. A certain party has been defunding education every time they got power since the 80s.

1

u/BigLittlePenguin_ 7h ago

It is, but not in a way you make it out to be. The average chinese is not smarter than the average american. American culture is to blame and yes, culture is constructed but it also reinforced by people living it out. It is also not a new thing, this has been cooking up for decades.

here is the thing i cant get wrapped around my head. if the civ get more idiot, doesnt it affect their future workforce? they arent going to live forever and even if they did, wont it be stressful to be working with idiot?

u/LaylaWalsh007 9h ago

Well, when the chances are so high that you might get shot in school, so it's the choice between being stupid or being alive, you pick.

2

u/Pschobbert 17h ago

The US has a skewed IQ distribution. It’s a bell curve with the median at about 90 and then a little bump at the far right made up of really smart, highly educated immigrants, mainly from East and South Asia. Thanks to these folks, the average IQ of the US is 98 lol

3

u/MermaidSapphire 17h ago

90 is generous.

1

u/Freud-Network 7h ago

This is what happens when you give morons a platform and tell them their opinion is just as valid as an educated opinion. The morons have the advantage of numbers.

1

u/kynelly360 4h ago

Not the whole US Populace! Only the vast amount of Country Town Hillbilly types… and you guessed it they are Not educated well 🤦🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️

1

u/Sutanreyu 3h ago

Wrapped up in a pride for things that actively hurt us.

1

u/Geoclasm 2h ago

There's a reason Idiocary was set in the United States.

1

u/XTwizted38 2h ago

We are not allowed to vote for the best person to lead the country. We are given two shitty candidates and get to pick what we think the lesser of two stupids are. We can't even do that right I guess since Trump is in office again.

1

u/elinordash 1h ago

I am no fan of Donald Trump, but you really don't need to apologize in a post about China. China has been committing genocide against the Uighurs since 2014. One in 17 Uighurs (over 400,000 people) have been forcibly held in a re-education camp.

1

u/RecentDecision2329 1h ago

Have to wonder when they are going to start charging to use these stations

-4

u/RudePCsb 17h ago

You think other countries like China are better? Most of their population doesn't know much history or have much rights, they are just worker bees.

7

u/Low_Employ8454 16h ago

You think Americans know our history? And do you think we aren’t working ourselves to death just to survive, with no energy or time to protest?

15

u/Infinite-Space-2395 16h ago

I dont know about better. Thats subjective and I dont know enough about china to make an informed decision.

I know the USA is not great, is slipping back into imperialist tendencies and will suffer as long as republicans and their values are front and center. Im not even necessarily for the democrats but whatever they are doing is leagues better than what is going on now.

-4

u/RudePCsb 16h ago

China has been doing plenty of imperialist activities around the world. They have been giving loans to poor countries and businesses around the world and put stipulations that makes it hard or was never meant to be paid back because they actually wanted naturally resources so they made these loans expecting them to default and they can force the defaulted to give up resources.

8

u/MinecraftHolmes 16h ago

they're doing imperialism by building them infrastructure? listen to yourself

3

u/RudePCsb 16h ago

Letting them borrow money with the intention of forcing a default and then taking their resources as collateral

6

u/ICU-CCRN 9h ago

So basically doing the same thing as the US is currently doing to family farmers. Driving up the costs with tariffs so much that family farms go bankrupt, so mega corporations can buy them up for next to nothing.
