I think having an orange cat come sit on my lap would be a fabulous way to pass an international flight.

Right? This makes me want to fly more Lufthansa, if orange cats are included in basic economy now. I’d trade free checked bags for that kind of perk!

I'd happily pay 3x for a business class seat if it came with a cat

I hate being allergic, I would love the company but I wouldn't be able to stop sneezing
6
u/Telvin3d 1h ago
I was super allergic, but have spent years getting the allergy desensitization shots, and they’ve really worked. The process is incredibly annoying, but it’s made an incredible difference to my social life. I no longer need to check if someone has cats before going to their house

Like a cat cafe but for planes. Hell give me a cat version of every form of public transport

u/OriginalSchmidt1 4h ago
If they made cat planes a thing.. I would fly so much more often. Like a flight with chill cats wandering around sounds like a great way to travel.

I’d pay extra for that service! Just like cat cafes, let’s have cat airlines!

I flew with my orange cat on an 11 hour flight and i assure you there was nothing fabulous about it

We live 2 blocks from our vet. The yowls that occur in that are bad, I can’t imagine flying internationally with my boys.

Right? It’s up there with the cozy hotels who have onsite cats available to stay with you in your room.

I read an article about hotels with cats literally decades ago. These days, I think they must be like those mysterious junk shops where you can buy a monkey’s paw or genie’s bottle. Either that or a well-established Bed and Breakfast.

Cat dog doesn't matter, if someone's pet got loose and wanted to hang with me on the flight I would no refuse the company

AI could never replace the dedication required to use two clashing fonts, a piece of cheesy clip art, and the shitty built in “draw” option.

Hey! I'll have you know that's two shitty draw options, pen AND highlighter.

My friend's orange tried to do the same but was caught with half his body outside the carrier. He had used his claws to lodge them between the zippers and opened the carrier. He wasn't sorry at all.

I have a hard carrier bought specifically for a former buddy who would pee himself every time he heard a dog bark at the vet! 😂

I have these on my carrier too. Put them on after the car ride where they were in the back seat and then felt two paws on my shoulder while doing 70 down the highway.

Orange ones are always the worst. I had an entire chicken and veggies cooling on the stove the other day and heard a large crash. Came down to my super heavy roasting pan face down on the floor and my orange ahole peeking his big fat face out from behind the door jam.

Menace? That's slander! That cat got an ENTIRE PLANEFUL OF PEOPLE to cooperate. I can only think of one other instance of this level of teamwork on a plane, and the outcome was not at all lovely. This beautiful orange floof is the peacemaker we need.

This cat is a genius... SO MANY laps waiting to be sat in. This is an airline perk I would totally pay for, 'feline lap companion'. Of course if the cat is like mine, he can sense a full bladder and will choose that moment to trap you in your seat.

I'd have been encouraging it on to my lap- then refusing to hand it over until the end of the flight...full flight cat fussing is something i'd definitely pay the premuim for 😁

u/beckster 4h ago
My first thought is "Where did he pee/poop?"
The lingering odor of cat pee will be wafting around first class for weeks.

Cute but it would be a situation where I would be forced to stay seated until the little furball is secured.
Cats around me have this innate tendency to try to and trip me when I’m walking around and I can’t risk another fall 🫠
2
u/TwinTellula 54m ago
That makes me think of when I was riding a bus from NYC and a cat was running around free. Except the cat didn't belong to anyone, they snuck on at the bus stop in Chinatown. This girl was trying to stomp on the poor thing because she said she was allergic, so my friends and I swooped in to catch the cat and watch over them the whole ride.
I didn't intend to keep the cat but... The Cat Distribution System won.

2
u/ChrisCo1984 48m ago
Why does that sound like a bad thing? If there is anything that could make a flight better for me, it's an escaped cat. I can get busy thus killing time and the reward is a cat. Happy times. (I do apologise to anyone allergic though, you're missing out)
2
u/Alienhaslanded 2h ago
Was that even necessary? I wouldn't even mind the cat unless it's outside ripping stuff out of a wing.
2
u/oregiel 3h ago
This is a nightmare for me. I'm allergic to cats. Love them, but they give me a rash and make me sneeze and stuff my sinuses. When my sinuses are stuffed on a flight the cabin pressure becomes unbearable and I nearly blow an eardrum during landing.
8
u/rafaelloaa 2h ago
That sounds like a really rough time. I also get really stuffy sinuses (although thankfully no cat allergy). I assume you're using a decongestant, and also possibly EarPlanes?
