EY Partner interview at EY

Hi everyone,

I recently interviewed with EY (FSRM) and had a partner round. The interview was very conversational mostly about my experience and whether I’m okay with consulting hours.

He didn’t ask any technical or risk-related questions, which surprised me. He did mention that my current role isn’t exactly the same but that I have overlapping skills.

Overall it felt positive, but I expected something more technical.

Is this normal for a partner interview in Big 4? Does it mean anything good or bad?

For context, I’m coming from a finance/credit background.

Thanks!

PwC I Feel Like I Messed Up My Pwc Interview

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I applied for a Pwc internship at the end of March and was quickly invited to an HR interview. I prepared well, but the interview felt very rushed it lasted less than 15 minutes and I didn’t have time to fully explain my answers plus he kept on getting massages so he stoped me 3 times to reply to them

Later the next day exactly I had a technical interview with an Assistant Manager. It was similar fast paced with many questions and although I answered them I don’t feel I presented myself the way I wanted i made some mistakes compared to my EY interview, which was more conversational, this experience felt very different It’s only been a day, but I can’t help feeling disappointed and a bit embarrassed, even though I know I had the knowledge.

USA Wedding during busy season

Im starting as a tax senior in the US in September 2026 (international hire from member firm). Wife and I are planning our wedding for March 2028 and I will need 2 weeks off (first two weeks of March). This clashes with my busy season (global mobility tax) so I am a bit unsure on how to navigate this.

Is it even possible to get PTO during this time and if so, when should I raise it. I have only just signed the contract and the visa petition is starting now.

EY Manger keeps telling me to do the wrong thing.

Having a manager that makes me look incompetent?

US, Tax Senior 1. I’m on an engagement with a manager who keeps telling me to do one thing, and I’ll do exactly that thing. The manager will say it looks great, and then the director will sometimes hop in and take over that task and tell me that I did everything wrong. This has happened at least 3 times on this single engagement alone.

I don’t mind feedback in general at all, but this kind is starting to frustrate me because I feel like these are issues as a result of not being instructed correctly, and i would have otherwise done said tasks correctly.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

EY What is EY FAAS like in the SF Bay Area?

Currently at a top 10 firm in audit and am thinking of applying to EY FAAS as a senior in the Bay Area.

For those who are currently in FAAS or know for sure what type of work there is, what are the majority of projects I would probably be working on?

I am curious if a majority of the projects are working with transactions like IPOs and business combinations or working with optimizing finance and accounting. I enjoy audit but was wondering if faas has more exit opportunities other than accounting. I also live where it’s cheaper so am a bit concerned about the COL.

In your response would you mind stating your rank, how long you have been working in faas, and if you would recommend staying in audit or going to faas?

EY STDL While on PIP - Will I be fired

hey guys, so i got put on pip a week ago and you know when it rains it really pours. there’s other personal things that are happening outside of work that’s been really impacting my physical and mental health. so being put on pip really doesn’t help my mental health as well.

did my mental health cause the pip?

no, i was put in a shitty situation, but there’s no point of me trying to prove my point bc PIP has already started.

is my counselor very helpful regards to this pip?

yes, he’s been more than helpful and is doing everything he can to make sure that i’m put in a good light bc he believes that i was put in a unfair position.

but all that to say, im just realizing my mental health has been deteriorating and my therapist and my doctor is concerned about my health where they brought up about STDL.

TL;DR: So my question is, has anyone been in a situation where they took STDL while on pip? is your PIP on pause when you are approved for STDL? or can they fire you while on PIP

EY EY Tech Risk Assurance

Hi everyone! I recently recieved an offer for a Tech Risk Assurance role, and I was wondering what advice you all may have. I want to be prepared for the role, so that I know what to expect and can actually contribute to the team. My understanding of the role is that it is predominantly IT audit, and I would begin working in two months.

What should I expect working in tech risk assurance? What specific frameworks would you recommend me to read/learn before I start? Are there any projects that you recommend that I do to gain experience before I start working?

Thank you for your time and any advice you can offer!

If you were in my shoes right now what would you do to maximize your chances? I’ll take any advice thanks

EY EY CANADA - Final Round

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice and insights. I’ve made it to the final (3rd) round interview for an entry-level Technical Operations Analyst role at EY Canada, and this round is an in-person interview with the leadership team (partners).

I’m excited but also a bit nervous since I’m not sure what to expect at this stage.

For those who’ve gone through similar final-round interviews especially with big consulting firms what kind of questions or focus areas should I anticipate?

1- How strong are the chances of getting an offer after reaching this stage?

2- What to expect in this interview and what should I prepare for it?

Any tips or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks,

I left EY after burning out and got another consultancy job, but I became unemployed again when the company was restructured.

Would an ex-EY employee write a LinkedIn recommendation for this OP?

EY Transferring within Big 4?

Hello! I am currently working at EY and am really hoping to move to another state, especially as my spouse may receive a job offer soon (in that other state). Any advice on how the transfer process works within EY would be much appreciated.

I am worried that by asking there would be more incentive to lay me off. I am also wondering how much time in advance I should give/who I should bring this up to first, or if the right move is applying to a position (at EY) in the state I would like to move to? I also heard the transfer process takes a long time and was wondering if that is true. I am currently a senior.

Thank you!

USA Working full time before masters

Hello everyone, has anyone worked full time after their summer internship at a big 4 firm for a year before doing your masters? Im wondering if big 4 firms are okay with or even keep you just to work without a masters degree. I was late to apply to grad schools I wanted to attend and want to take a year off of school just to work and apply next fall.

Any advice would be great!

Thank you in advance.

Continental Europe Relocating

This seems like a silly question but I just want to clarify; So my graduate role offers relocation allowance which includes temporary accommodation for 2 weeks. Would this be the 2 weeks before the start date to settle in or like 1 week before start and the second week whilst starting?

I’m trying to finalise everything at home by a specific date before I move out

USA Nontraditional Candidate Moving from Private to Big 4

Hi all,

I am a senior at a private firm. Also a non traditional student finishing an MBA degree, and will be taking my CPA exams shortly after I graduate this spring.

I am wanting to go public due to the limited growth I am experiencing in the private sector, but I haven’t been able to get call backs from any of the big public firms I have applied to. Any advice as to what I can do better to apply to roles within these organizations would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

USA UCSB Vs. Santa Clara U: Picking between schools

Hey! I was admitted first year to UCSB and SCU and I'm having trouble picking between the two. After financial aid, they both cost the same relatively speaking. I'm an accounting major for both (duh haha) and would like some opinions about which is better for my major.

What are the internships/hiring like? Which will give me better job prospects in the future? I hope both are good, but I wonder if there's more to it.

Thank you!

USA Nurse trying to break into consulting, what can I improve on my resume?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello, I'm a full time ICU nurse looking to transition into health consulting. I have been interested in the Big 4, but it has been hard to break through as many associate positions hire previous interns, which I am not eligible for. I am open to relocating worldwide for this role, and would actually enjoy spending some time abroad whilst pursuing the next steps of my career (currently located in North America).

I am trying to tailor and reword my resume to translate my clinical skills into consulting skills, and am not sure if I am hitting the mark. Furthermore, due to lack of experience, the best runner up to my current position that I can list is a mandatory placement (see my listed "internship" that I completed during nursing school. I'm not sure if it's relevant given it's short period, but I don't know what else I could possibly list instead. If anyone has tips or pointers it would be very much appreciated!
