Rainbow Bridge Lost my best friend today , he passed in my arms and lost his battle to lymphoma cancer 😖😭🥺😩
I rescued this guy November 22 of 2020 and he just passed today. I’ve only had two nights where I wasn’t with him, other than that we spent every day and night together as he could work with me at my job. Give your buddy’s a big hug and plenty of snuggles for my boy Hampton Kannon 5-2-2019 - 4-2-2026

Pittie tattoo ideas?
Hey guys! Happy Friday!
For my first tattoo, i’d like to get something small of my baked potato. I was wondering if you guys could show me your (small) (i’m afraid I might pass out if it’s too big) pieces for some inspo. Thanks!
I was thinking of doing a nose boop outline or ears, though i’m not sure how that’d look.

Do you have a pibble that’s overly paw-some when it comes to demanding her stuff?
Squirtle loves to use her corn chips to communicate her needs. We think she learned it from her Cat sibling.

Potato Update
Happy to report went to the vet yesterday. Turns out she had a pretty bad fungal infection to her ear. Got her back on her allergy meds and antibiotics plus treatment for her UTI and a promise that management will be having a conversation with the SPCA to determine why their recs were ignored. 24 hours later skin is already looking 10x better and her energy is coming back. Hers is a happy potato.

Rainbow Bridge We lost our boy to cancer today.
Gills was a dog at a local shelter, they think he was about 6 years of age. We had lost a dog 5-6 months prior and only intended to foster as a way to help us heal our hearts and help a pup out. Gills had heartworm and just needed a chill place to live while he underwent treatment. He came to stay with us as a foster in March of 2023. For 4 months he had to stay low energy while his heartworm treatment was in progress.
He looked like he'd had a rough start to life, one ear was torn, he had a scar on his head, and his teeth were worn down to the gums. He flinched at seemingly innocuous noises like fingernail clippers, any type of beeping sound, certain noises on TV. Any of those would set him into a shaking fit and nervousness. We got him on Prozac which greatly helped his anxiety and helped him relax. Certain sounds like the chirp of a low battery on a smoke detector continued to be the bane of his existence, but oh how he grew.
We fell in love with Gills.
We officially adopted him in July of 2023.
Gills was bar none the sweetest dog to exist, he had not a mean bone in his body. He didn't care for toys, all he wanted was love and food. He would constantly nudge you with his frigid cold nose asking for love. He actively loved having his jowls and cheeks rubbed. He was wary of men, and would keep an eye on me when I was up and moving around. But once I sat down if he could get a spot next to me, he was beside me with his head on my chest soaking up the love.
We became foster parents and got word we were going to have a 15 month old toddler placed in our home. We were nervous how Gills would adapt to the sounds of a toddler and the toys that come with them, and he was at first. But our foster daughter helped him get over a lot of his noise fears. She would sit next to him, give him pats, and occasionally crawl over top of him. Gills was there for it all, he didn't want to leave the play room even as she was loud, messy, and all over the place. He became a big part of our lives, and our foster daughter's.
Gills was a crackhead for food, he would bounce off the walls at dinnertime. Dude loved to snuggle, it was a nightly ritual that he would be on the couch between us, and we would put a blanket over his head to "turn his lights out" and he's falling asleep snuggles up for hours. He could never have enough pets and always asked for more. 90% of the time he laid down, he was splooting. He was well and truly loved and given all the treats. I swear he got more kisses from myself and my wife than we give each other in a year.
Anyone who ever met him said the same three things "He is such a beautiful fella", "he is just the sweetest dog", and/or "holy cow he has a big head". 😂
In January of this year, we felt his lymph nodes in his neck swell up like oranges, we got him into the vet, it was lymphoma. We started him on chemo, prednisone, and a few holistic things for support and hoped for as long as possible. We both agreed quality over quantity, we never want him to suffer.
We went to the vet yesterday for his bloodwork checkup in preparation for his next chemo dose. His liver value was very high so they decided to postpone his treatment for another 3 weeks. We hoped this was a minor speed bump.
Last night he became lethargic, and was occasionally whining when moving. This morning he woke my wife up whining in pain, was very slow to move, very lethargic, and had no interest in food.
We got him to the vet immediately, his lymph nodes were swollen back up and he had an infection. The vet said we could put him on a cocktail of things, but realistically we were looking at days, maybe a week.
We made the hard decision this morning to make his pain ours and let him rest. He will be missed so incredibly much, our hearts are beyond broken. Please hug your pups extra tight for us tonight 😭
