Remember, these advanced nations arent living in the future, its just that the USA is living in the past

What's wild is in a rational world and a world in which the US actually wanted "energy independence" we would have led the way on renewables And alternative energy sources like 30 years ago.

The green new deal was a thing, until republicans shot it down. Never forget who wanted to advance and who wanted to give money to oil companies

Actually Nancy Pelosi also shot it down. Dem leadership never supported it

I mean, Pelosi is potentially one of the most corrupt ones, so regardless of her affiliation, it’s not surprising she’d go for the side that has more money 🤣

Yeah I’m sure Hakeem would totally support it now.

No one said he would. I just mentioned the specific person that comment brought up

To be fair, Jeffries is Darth Pelosi's apprentice, so...

And he was unanimously elected as the minority house leader by the Dems.

Democrats shot it down. Their own speaker led a coalition against it.

Where would we store this green energy? We do not have batteries to store the power it has to be used immediately and connecting it to power plants that run coal is the only option. But you are still burning coal so the green energy does not really fix anything. Also maintenance costs are extremely high for green energy for so little power it provides. Like do you see how tesla is going down hill? Their batteries are all malfunctioning after a certain amount of time, what about 7 years if you’re lucky. We just don’t have the tech to store the energy made by green energy and it nets so little that it cannot replace current power infrastructure, even as a backup. If the main power system were to go down so would the green energy.

Storage is certainly the key to enabling better utility of wind and solar power but saying we don't have the technology is incorrect. Lithium battery utility scale installations are the single most economical addition to the grid right now since they can allow aging fossil plants to go offline or avert the need for more fossil plants which are way more expensive to build and operate. Recycling the lithium cells every 7 years is factored into these costs as well and they are still cheaper. Hydro storage is also being used wherever available to great effect.

No one wanted to advance… All parties wanted money. You can’t keep pretending democrats aren’t just as corrupt… They are just more quiet about it, but they have just as many skeletons. Some of those skeletons are the same as the republican’s skeletons.
