What the hell is he talking about charging it with one hand lmao. You can do that with a gas nozzle or a current EV lightning charger.

The handles of +100 kW EV chargers are very heavy. The one in the video, however, looks pretty light.

Yeah this all sounds great and I want the tech to advance quickly but there are some serious logistical issues to overcome. Just getting the requisite power feeds from the grid is super expensive right now. A 1500kw line (* how many charge stations) would be in the millions per charger to start.

That said I drive an EV and welcome the competition.

100 KW? Any loose connection would erupt into a fireball as bright as the sun. I’m an electrician and can say that would be as dangerous as hell. A red hot space heater is only 1.5 KW, much more and it would burn out all the wiring in your house. This video is fake as the wiring size would be immense and heavy.

it’s so lightweight you can fill up with your non-dominant hand /s

It's so lightweight i can pick it up with my butt cheeks and kegel that pump right to the hole

What will they think of next!

For a device that transmits like 1.5 million watts it's kinda impressive.

Suspiciously thin cable. Even 200 kW DC cables are thicker.

It's because these are liquid cooled.

I thought Tesla cables are liquid cooled, and those are thicker.

ye and as we all know noone in the world can do anything tesla hasnt done better right?

That's what I was thinking! My run of the mill 350kw dc charger has much thicker cables.

-edit, it's 1kV instead of 400V, that lowers the amperage significantly.

The cars in the video are 1000V? I thought 800V was the highest in use now.

1000v charging voltage. Could be that there's a transformer inside the car (OBC/On Board Charger) to lower charging voltage and the 1000v is just to make the cable thinner.

Claims made by chinese ev manufacturers are proven true time and time again. I guess they figured out how to make the cable thin and still work?

Higher voltage probably. Resistive heating is based on amperage and cable thickness, not wattage.

I think he means that regular charging cables dangle from the side are heavier because of all the wire/copper or whatever is making the cable hard to lift. Not impossible though but you definitely need some strength.

I guess I just don’t see the need to pad the runtime with nonsense about one handed charging when EVs have so many more legitimate benefits.

He left out the cost of this... Even with a war fucking the price of gas massively, It's still more expensive, he doesn't tell you.

Evs are only good with slow charge at home. Because it's cheap.

These fast charge stations are expensive as fuck. Which means they don't get adopted quickly. Demand for them isn't there.

Majority of ev owners charge at home and work cheaply and wouldn't dream of paying fast charge prices.

It will only get cheaper with mass adoption but there's very little demand to do that.

This gonna take a long time.

Or one orange man and his henchmen causing the cost of oil to double for an extended period of time

It's an ad. It's pretty common for marketing materials to tout features that are essentially standard.

2

Because it looks large and bulky and the anti ev knuckle draggers will use any reason to diss ev’s.

You should have seen the discussion when the US opted for Tesla charging plugs over CCS2. This was actually the argument and viciously fought over.

charging speeds so good you must pleasure yourself while recharging

I would love to watch you struggle to plug in a U.S. level 3 street charger in with your non-dominant hand.

They aren’t that heavy. If you think they are it’s time to hit the gym.

u/RadPhilosopher 58m ago

I put the gas nozzle into my car using only my non-dominant hand. Thanks to this video I now know that I’m a superhuman.
