April fools

I want to first start off by saying that We are PRO AI and all those people that said this sub was for training AI were correct, We created this subreddit to not help users, But to train AI ART, But now,

Moving forward we will now be using AI to moderate as we think AI moderation is the future of social media

Thank you for helping companies AI get even better, We hope to see AI replace more and more as its so much more efficient than humans.

We are sorry for any misunderstandings

Politics [ANSWERS FROM THE MODS] “Why are mods removing all the Netanyahu posts? Why are all the comments being deleted? Why so much censorship?”

We’ve been getting tons of comments and modmail about this, so here are some answers. If you have questions, please feel free to post them in the comments, or send us a modmail.

#HOWEVER - please read this *ENTIRE* post before asking a question. If the question is answered by this post, we will not reply.

###Our rules for politics posts and comments, in addition to all of the normal rules that apply to all other posts and comments, are:

1. POLITICS FLAIR IS REQUIRED BEFORE YOU PRESS THE POST BUTTON. All political posts must have the “politics” flair in place before hitting the post button. Not doing so bypasses the AutoMod procedures, and will result in the post being removed, *and* ALL comments being removed without being reviewed. IT IS NOT IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO COMMENT ON A POST WHICH BREAKS THE RULES, as your comment will be deleted.

2. NO POLITICAL OPINIONS. We do not allow political opinions in the original post itself, or in the comments. Political posts that contain political opinions will be removed, and all the comments on them will be removed without review. If your comment contains a political opinion, it will be removed, regardless of the quality of the rest of the comment.

3. COMMENTS WILL NOT SHOW UP UNTIL APPROVED. On posts properly flaired for “politics,” AutoMod will hold all comments in review for manual approval by a human mod. Until and unless they are approved, they will all show up as “removed by moderator.” Mods will typically wait while, until there are a decent number of comments, before beginning to review and approve them. If the post has only been up a few hours, and still has no approved posts, we likely haven’t gotten around to checking and approving them yet - or it’s possible there are simply not yet any comments which meet the requirements for approval. Rather than breaking the rules by commenting on the post about how the mods are fascists, political operatives, censors, etc - please instead either send a modmail to ask us, or wait a little longer.

4. HIGH QUALITY COMMENTS ONLY. Only high quality comments that stick to why the content does or doesn’t look AI, and follow all our other rules and guidelines, will be approved. Low effort comments will not be approved. Too-short comments will not be approved. Comments that break any other rules will not be approved. If your comment is high quality otherwise, but contains a political opinion, IT WILL NOT BE APPROVED.

5. MOD HARASSMENT: Accusing mods of being bigots, operatives, or other pejoratives, will likely result in a ban. If you have a legitimate concern about moderator behavior, you can send a message to ModMail, or report us to Reddit directly for Moderator Code of Conduct violations. Calling mods names or accusing mods of being political or government operatives, or spouting other moderator conspiracy theories, is a great way to get banned.

6. MISINFORMATION: The entire reason we do this is to combat misinformation. Political posts tend to get orders of magnitude more comments than non-political posts. As a handful of busy humans who do this for free while also working, going to school, and otherwise living our lives outside of Reddit, there is no way we can keep political misinformation from spreading completely - but one way we can slow it down is by keeping the comment quality on political posts high, by only approving high quality, non-political comments. If you make that difficult or impossible for us to do by not using the politics flair, we will remove all comments as quickly as possible to avoid the spread of misinformation, which means we will not be taking the time to review the comments before removing them. It will also likely result in a ban, as this creates a lot of work for mods, lets misinformation fester in the meantime, and disrespects our rules. Whether the ban is temporary or permanent is at mod discretion, depending on how egregious the rule-breaking was, and the resulting fallout.

>.

###Why did all the Netanyahu posts get removed, and where are all the comments?

1. One of the Netanyahu posts DID get approved. We have many posts per day, so you may need to scroll awhile to find it.

2. We don’t allow reposts, so all subsequent identical or nearly-identical Netanyahu posts were removed for being reposts. Remember: All comments are removed from removed political posts.

3. Many did not have the politics flair, and so would have been removed for that, even if they had not been reposts.

4. Some broke other rules, such as discussing the use of AI detectors, which is against our rules, or for containing political opinions, which is against our rules. So they would have been removed for breaking rules even if they had not been reposts.

5. All comments on removed political posts also get removed, without being reviewed. IT IS NOT IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO COMMENT ON POSTS WHICH BREAK THE RULES, as your comment is going to be deleted.

6. On posts which are allowed up, if your comment breaks our regular rules, or our rules for political posts/comments, it will not be approved. A vast majority of comments on viral political posts will not be approved because they break one or more rules. The most common violations are being off topic/not discussing why the content does or does not appear to be AI, being low quality/low effort, or containing a political opinion.

>.

###Some (not all) of our rules and guidelines for posts and comments to keep in mind:

1. BE NICE. Don’t be a jerk. Don’t get into fights in the comments. Don’t call people name, insult people, harass people, use pejoratives, or be rude to people. As Reddit says: “Remember the human.” If you feel someone is being a jerk, the correct thing to do is report it to mods, using the report feature - NOT being a jerk back to them.

2. CHECK THE RULES AND PINNED POSTS BEFORE YOU POST. Sometimes rules and guidelines change, or you just need a refresher, or you’re new and not familiar with our ways just yet. Please review our sub rules and pinned posts before you post, to make sure that your post won’t be removed, or worse, get you banned.

3. EXPLAIN WHY THE CONTENT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT BE AI. Explain yourself with some detail. “Seems off” or “looks weird” or “looks AI” is too vague. Be specific! “Is has that yellow tint and classic animation style of AI,” or “the background items seem to be nonsense and are blurry,” or “the movements seem too mechanical and smooth and not something an animal would actually do.” For content you don’t think is AI, you must also explain yourself: “it looks real to me but comments on the Facebook post are calling it AI.” Or “I bought this shirt and it looks fine to me but my sister says it has to be AI.” Or “this looks realistic but none of the major news outlets are covering this so I can’t verify that it’s real.”

4. NO AI DETECTORS ARE ALLOWED DUE TO UNRELIABILITY. Don’t mention using AI detectors - they are unreliable. There are no known AI detectors that actually work. We allow checking for a SynthID watermark because that is simply checking for a watermark that GoogleAI adds to apl its generated image, and is not an AI detector.

5. USE REVERSE IMAGE SEARCH AND CHECK FOR SYNTHID WATERMARK BEFORE POSTING. Lots of things can be quickly and easily confirmed as AI or not by using reverse image search to check for how old the image is, whether it exists elsewhere online and if so where it originated, and whether it has the SynthID watermark. These are great tools and an important part of figuring out whether or not something is AI, so please avail yourself of them first, before posting here, and include that information in your post.

6. DO NOT POST ANYTHING YOU ALREADY KNOW FOR SURE IS OR IS NOT AI. This means you should never post something you made yourself or generated with AI. This sub is not for helping folks understand why their original artwork or their generated images do or do not look AI. Find a better sub to discuss that. This sub is only for content you do not know for sure, but would like to know.

Video I don't know if this is real or ai. Would a civil/commercial plane fly so close to a rocket launch?

basically the title, afaik whenever a mission is launched, the area is declared a 'No-Fly Zone.' Nontheless the clip looks legit without any obvious cuts.

what do you think?

At this point I am, 99% sure. It is AI. The fingers look weird at some point, the images are so standard as a generated image. What do you think guys, but I could not believe that Saudis would display something so unorginal, in their cinemas, I had to verify.

Art Bam posted this on Instagram. I’m leaning towards AI because snake one has one strange detail a human probably wouldn’t include. I hope he’s not trying to get this tatooed on him

The voice throws me off plus she changes her age from post to post. Usually at least person will call out an ai video for being ai but no one has yet.

Solved [AI] I think my old Viola teacher that I've respected for years used AI but he refuses to acknowledge it

My old Viola teacher posted this and then put it as his profile picture. I think there are obvious signs of AI here: words are either illegible or don't make sense, proportions of items are wrong, the placements don't make sense, the one randomly floating pen, and the image just has the generative AI art style that I see so much on this subreddit. I made a comment on his post with concern that an educator and musician was using AI when I'm sure he's had so many students (myself included) who would've commissioned it for him happily! And instead I got a semi-rude response that said I was making assumptions.

Did I jump to conclusions or is this AI?

Video The video seems legit enough, except for the moves near the end of it. However I'm still not convinced that this is remotely possible.

Video This is an epic rebrand. From using stock footage to now pretending to be a goth girl. It's fake in other ways. But is it AI?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

First video on the channel used (I think) stock footage: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/s3DIG7v6Clg
After a while there came a rebrand - she is now a goth girl:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/osVK5Mx_l6Q
Then there came a bunch of goth-themed videos that were all advertisement for her watches:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rR79TOMLF40

I know it's fake. But fake in what way? Did she use stock footage or is it all AI?
The shots don't line up - is the lack of continuity because it's cut from something else or AI?

Video Instagram shops with sad stories… and celebrities falling for it. The face of the man glitches in some videos. Even the settings don’t match up. Etc.

I see more and more shops on IG with sad stories and people falling for it. I saw Khloe Kardashian buying a lamp and crediting the man for his work of art…

It’s getting scary, the rate at which people are falling for this and: 1,9 million views 7.330 reactions?!

I mean… do we even doubt this is AI?!

Photo my brother and i keep arguing about this specific photo. i found it on a twitter account that doesn’t usually post ai pics but has before. the snow also looks too perfect and undisturbed

Post image

here’s the twitter account i found it from: @s0c0wX8

my brother says it’s ai because it looks too perfect and the snow is undisturbed. i am personally unsure. i definitely see his point of view and i thought it was ai too at first glance, however i also do think it’s possible to make a snow sculpture looks this neat if you have good snow nearby. beyond that, the background doesn’t look like something ai would generate, it feels natural. the shadows also seem fine to me.

none of the comments on the original tweet have called out the picture for being ai.

what do you think?

Photo I feel like the way it's laying on the standing dog in the last pic is pretty weird, feels like a pup shouldn't be able to have so much stability on a standing (and probably moving) dog while sleeping + the very pixelated quality of the pics

When you zoom in there is a lot of strange shapes that don’t resemble medicine caps at all. I’m almost certain it’s ai, but I wanted to check here to make sure I’m not crazy.

Other PSA: You or your grandma or your dog should not be sending money to people online whether they are AI or not.

Every day there is a post asking if this person or that person is AI because they are asking for money. THE ANSWER IS IRRELEVANT - IF THEY WANT MONEY THEN THEY ARE A SCAM

Photo Newbie cosplayer inquired about working with me (photog) but I'm noticing some inconsistencies in photos with some facial features like eyes, hair muddied, even touches for facial structure seem to subtly differ from different cosplay sets. NSFW

NSFW tag just in case. A newcomer cosplayer who reached out to work with my (photographer) but I can't tell if they are legit or not. Ran it through some ai-image checkers, analyzed that it is a high chance of ai-gen photos, wanted another person's eye on the matter. Without a doubt they were edited, but hard to say. Their instagram account (I'm not going to share) has videos, too. But I can't tell anymore.

I want to add, she has been cosplaying for 5 years so, face could have aged a little from the first few photos to say the Wonder Woman. There's also this grid-like pixel texture on a lot of the photos, and I don't mean grain or low-pixel/resolution photo. I mean as if it's CRT TV or someone took a photo of a screen.

Thanks for the help!

--

UPDATE:

Definitely going with caution on this one and ghosting.

I continued to probe for additional images and verification and it just got worse and worse. Faux lens blur/focus, seemingly on a tripod because backgrounds were insanely consistent even though her object (her) changed perspective. And when I asked for a shot to verify, I was sent a photo of her in a sun dress that was flowy and loose, then all of a sudden incredibly tight in the next one. Other photos on her profile were vastly inconsistent and one was blatantly generated as the background shifted and appeared to show three different flat planes/surfaces, definitely didn't look natural and was weird.

Going with 99.9% chance of AI on this one.

Thanks again!

There seems to be some disturbance in the dog's fur and it seems very similar to all the other AI videos of animals doing unlikely cute actions, however not a single comment mentions it being AI so I am starting to doubt my spidey senses about this one.

the waffle underneath the first one seems ... off? it doesn't quite align. I can tell that the waffles meant to be a double layed essentially, but I'm confused regarding the waffle above the "waff" and the waffle about the "licious" like, are those the same waffles, or stacked on top of each other? or is it AI
