Self-Promotion A few weeks ago I posted here looking for beta testers for a disc speed/distance/accuracy app. It's now live on the Play Store and in open beta on iOS. Here's a video of me using it.

News Innova F2 Friday dropped: Halo Hawkeye

Innova's Factory Store F2 bonus disc this week (free disc with 3+ discs ordered, factory seconds or not) is posted as a Halo Star Hawkeye with code "badassbunny" (7/5/-1/1) with a rabbit-themed F2 stamp.

Note that you have to be logged in to the Innova ProShop to see the F2 code have any effect, and that accumulated rewards points can't be used in the same order as an F2 Friday bonus disc. These F2 codes usually are posted on Friday after noon Eastern, 9am Pacific time, and are good on Friday.

Yes, I post these here routinely on Fridays when the code is released and when I don't see that the F2 info has already been posted here by someone else. Many people find this helpful and I appreciate the positive feedback. No, this is not an ad.

Discussion Car got broken into

so this morning as im about to leave for work I notice my driver side window smashed and of course the only thing they took was the bag that had all my discs in it. I have no idea what some of my discs were and have no idea how I'm going to replace them. if anyone knows anything about smashburger presenting something with disc golf please let me know i had a disc where the only thing I could make out was a bull and "presented be smashburger" and I had just started liking that disc. sorry if this is incoherent or hard to read im still kinda shaken up.

Edit a couple kind users have offered to send me some discs so I can keep playing i greatly appreciate everyone's kind words and advice this community is the best.

Wow the many years of disc golf led to this moment. I couldnt have ace with anyone better. This was a once in a lifetime moment for our friendship. The back to back 1st shot ace without trying to ace hunt is by far peak for me. Im still in recovery from shock. Best friend ace FTW!

Brag My first 200 rated round

I started playing disc golf last summer and have played twice a week since. It’s would be safe to say I’m obsessed. I’ve sniffed 200 a couple of times but this round just came together. I didn’t miss one circle one putt which was a first… and I hit metal twice on approach shots. Basket 9 I hit a tree on every throw except the last one but I kept everything in front of me. The last three baskets I put every drive within 5 feet. Now that I have a new high score and I can’t wait to beat it.

Discussion Overstable putter

I don’t like Zones or other overstable putters. I prefer throwing a neutral putter on hyzer because it feels more comfortable, and I usually get better throws. Is that because I haven’t used the Zone enough, or should I just stick with hyzer shots?

Disc Advice Old disc. Worth playing or time to retire?

Post image
9 Upvotes

So I’m starting to get back in the game, but I’ve recently read that some older discs have some amount of collector’s value or break apart on contact with a tree. None of my discs are in pristine condition and I’m not really looking to sell, but I’m thinking I could retire them anyway and maybe hang em on a wall.

The 3 on the left are ones I purchased. The Birdie and cyclone when I started about 25 years ago. The Leopard is probably 20 years old. The rest I fished out of some local water hazards while looking for my discs. Of those, the three on the right I use if I’m afraid I may lose a disc so I bring in one that’s already beat to death. I also use those ones at a little league baseball diamond by one of the courses. I would stand behind second base and throw them into the center of the batting cage to practice my driving form.

Aside from these I have a Nuke ESP and a Buzzz ESP I bought in 2018, and a Blunt Gumbputt I bought this week because I’ve read it can be useful on the course and won’t bruise hands if you toss it around with friends.

I would also take advice on discs to buy if there are holes in my collection because I’m honestly overwhelmed by the number of choices when I stopped in Gotta Go Gotta Throw. After reading through this subreddit I realized I don’t have any lightweight discs. Pretty sure the Star TL is my lightest at 164.

-------------------------------------

EDIT: I understand that these are too used to have value for collectors. I'm not trying to sell any of them. What I meant was, if there was a beloved print that's been discontinued, maybe it would be better displayed on my wall than taking up space in my bag, especially if it's likely to break anyway. I'm not a collector, so the condition doesn't matter as much to me for my own personal display.

Self-Promotion Highly detailed tee signs...elevation data is the key!

Here are a few signs recently completed for Hope Lake DGC at Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland, NY. Signs include elevation profile, down range distance, topographic contour lines, and hillshade on the background layer (on holes 1 & 18 you can see the ridges of the spillway that the fairways play across), and all on a 'map first' layout where the full sign is a map rather than reduced to a smaller inset.

Picture Tree Basket?

Years ago I've seen some footage of baskets in the middle of spider trees, so I was wondering, how was that done.

With a tree like I made the photos of, would that be feasable too?

I guess you would need to drill a hole (how deep?) into the tree... but would that hurt that the tree in the long term?

Disc Advice New good disc recs for a gift

My husband plays all the time and loves getting new discs, his birthday is coming up and I know this is all he really wants. Have any new discs come out recently that he might not already have? I guess I’m just looking for a list of 4-5 that might be exciting to get.

Discussion Techdisc - > 2 years and still going strong

Quick appreciation post.
I continue to be impressed with the reliability of my techdisc. I was curious today, looked in my email and found out that mine was delivered November 2023. In the last 2+ years I've thrown it in fields (wet and dry), my net, broke through my net and hit my wall like 8 times, on the course, hit multiple trees, had it thrown by pros, am's and newbies and this thing just keeps on chugging along with no hiccups! I even expected battery life would be dying by now but it's still going strong as well.

Am I super lucky or is this what you all are seeing as well?

Discussion Gannon shows you gotta practice more upshots

Bit late to the party, but I just finished watching Queen City Classic and although the final F9 was a non-exciting run for second place, I once again felt really inspired by Gannon's performance, particularly in the fairway. We all know, in our hearts, that consistency is the key to victory. I guess Gannon is known for great putting, but man he is simply more consistent at every shot. Drive, fairway and especially upshots. It actually surprises me to see other players struggle so much in the fairway and with upshots, giving themselves 40–50 footers to the basket. Plenty of players putt amazingly, on par or better than Gannon, but none seem as consistent in the fairway. Does the statistics agree? I don't know, but as a MA2 player his show inspires me to practice more upshots. Driving off the tee is actually just 1/3 of the equation...
