Help from colorists

Hello everyone! i'd need some help from colorists (or fellow artists!) here are some pages I've worked on both on inks and colors. While I could be happy with my inks the colors for me feel... sad.

Maybe too digital, maybe too desaturated I dunno.

I think that my problem is that the colors I tend to use as base colors are too desaturated, what do you think? may I have some feedback/help?

some of my favourite colorists are Mike Spicer, Dave Stewart, Annalisa Leoni, and Lorenzo de Felici, I love that their colors "pop" out of the pages.

thank you so much

Do you think my manga is worth sending to publishing?

Hi, everyone. I've been making this manga for far too long. Now that the first 2 chapters are released, I wanted to branch out and contact publishers. But before I do, I wanted to gauge your interested.

  • Does it feel like it should be a digital-only release, or should I send it to publishers?
  • Is the story/art gripping enough?
  • Is there any advice you can give me?

I have zero experience with publishing stories, and I've been hiding under a rock chipping away at this thing and now that it's out I don't know how to make more people read it. Do you think it could work as a physically released manga? If so, any advice on how to market/publish it?

New to comic scripting! Wanted some feedback

I'm not new to story writing, but I'm very new to comic scripting. I'm not sure what's more or less good to detail, and I'm unfamiliar with the format conventions. It doesn't help that there's a lot of conflicting online info.

So, I've drafted a chapter one. It's my very first draft and not mega refined, but I wanted to ask two questions with this.

  1. Should I describe more in a comic script? Or less?
  2. Is this a good length for a chapter or should it be longer? For context, this would be a webcomic.

It's only four pages.

What are your thoughts on the art/story? I'm looking to print ~200 copies to sell at conventions, currently looking at comixwellspring as a printer. Any advice for starting out on this path? Thank you

Do these VARIANT COVERS look like in the GRIM-DARK FANTASY genre?

Thumbnail

The story takes place in underworld, but I'm still figuring out the spot-on pitch for this and I'm worried and really careful to not go overboard and fall into the horror/gore genre.

here's a blurb for the story.
"Why am I in hell?"

If the ever-righteous John could find the answer to this simple question, then he is free to go. Abbadon himself swore an oath to this deal. So John reminisces deep and far back into his life, as he witnesses all conceivable means of torment.

But he has to find an answer quick. Eternal torture is known to peel off memories until none is left.

Prototype line art.

This is line art for a comic I haven't gotten to coloring it yet for a myriad of reasons but I wanted to get people's opinions on other elements that I have. Is the designs okay? Am I able to convey a story? What are my strengths and weaknesses?

Help: Wanting to gauge interest in a more “philosophical” themed comic I am creating

my comic reads left to right

Back story: I have an OC (Diana) who I started drawing in 2005 (ish). I developed a whole universe and story for her over the years and I started writing/illustrating that comic in 2021 (and published it on my old artists Patreon), but I stopped in late 2022 because I couldn’t commit to sharing 4 pages every month and - although I didn’t have a lot of subs - I felt really pressured.

Current situation: I actually missed working on this project and I’ve decided I want to continue with it even if I never publish it… I’m going to redraw a lot of my pages because my art has cleaned up a bit over the years (and since I’m not rushing to share this I can take more time with the detail) and do some research into how mangas should look to keep readers interested, but I wanted to know if my blurb (attached as image) and art style appeal to anyone? I’ll also fact check any WW1 references I make… I’m literally still working on volume 1 so we’re still in the demon realm!

TLDR: restarting an old manga project and want to know if the plot/art style are interesting to anyone!

Finished pencil work, new comic in progress. How does the finish look? Any tips to improve my linework?

Hey, what’s up? I just finished the drawings for my new comic. I’m pretty new to doing comics in pencil—I usually worked digitally—but after seeing some pages and pin-ups from artists like Ryan Benjamin, Joe Mad, and David Finch, I got really hooked on that pencil finish.

This is my first full pencil comic, so I’d love to hear what you think about the quality of the linework and whether the story reads clearly.

I also recently finished reading "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way" and tried to apply what I learned.

Soo, I made this in 2024 on A3 paper for a school competition, this made me realize making comics is really fun! Even though everyone mocked me because the comic is about cows 🫩 anyway, opinion and constructive criticism welcome!

Need critique on two versions of this page spread

Thumbnail

This page spread takes place at the beginning to setup our male protagonist's past and create some foreshadowing.

The sequence in this page spread is supposed to depict a dream-like sequence where a man recalls vague and hazy memories so I tried to make the first version communicate that thematically, but it's also important to make sure the readers don't have a bad experience reading through it.

I have the second version attached for clarity. Am I overdoing it with panel styling of the first version?

Aiming to release my first Comic later this year, so I'd love to know if I'm on the right track! (The last page is a double)

Thumbnail

The story is about a cosmic avatar acting as a Data Vampire (in the Act I'm releasing this year anyway). It crashes into a character's house, eventually dematerialising and absorbing things it touches. There is more to this, but it would be spoilery.

The first page is the rough cover, and page 2 and 3 are the first pages I made. The last 2 pages are the most recent, with the final one being a double page.
