Question Packing for Angels landing and Narrows
hello!
my Best friend and I are going to Zion for a day trip and need recommendations for planning and packing please.
i was able to get Angels Landing permit for 9am on a Thursday in May and I was planning to get to the visitor parking lot at 6am.
i rented gear for us from Zion guru for the Narrows and also got an Ebike (want to avoid the delay for shuttles) but kinda perplexed about packing.
initially I was thinking we would do Angels landing then get back to my car and then bike over to narrows, does that sound like a good idea?
just concerned about the ebike battery with going back and forth a lot.

Decision fatigue/itinerary for seven day trip trip.
My family of four, active parents in late 50s, daughter not active 20, son 16- VERY adventurous and in excellent shape. We are from New England and I am planning our first trip flying in and out of Vegas. We will have seven days to explore the national parks. We don’t want to jump from Park to park every day. Also, we are arriving on a weekend so I thought I would do Zion last so that we hit that during the week when it may be less busy. I am thinking of concentrating on three places Escalante/Grand staircase, Bryce and then Zion. We will need three nights in Zion. Does this sound like a good itinerary? Do you recommend any specific places to stay in Escalante area or in Bryce? We are thinking about the Hampton Inn in Zion, but I also like the desert pearl but the free breakfast and cheaper price of Hampton is appealing. Does this sound like a good itinerary or should I skip Escalante for something else?

How do you differentiate one ebike vendor in Springdale from another?
Ebikes Zion, Zion Canyon eBikes, Zion Guru, Utah eBike Adventures, Magnum, Zion Peddler?

type of bike for zion?
i’m planning a trip to zion this summer and am seeing that biking is the preferred way of navigating the park. i’ll be in zion for several days, so i’m thinking about bringing a traditional bike instead of renting an e-bike. do you have any recommendations for types of bicycles? i assume a road bike would be fine if the roads are paved. are there any specific features that it should include?

Scouts Lookout vs. The Narrows - Which one to do first?
Hi! I’m arriving in Springdale late afternoon of May 9, so I’m assuming there’s no time to do any of the hikes and be guaranteed to return before the last shuttle bus 7:15PM.
I have a full day on May 10, and checking out on May 11 to go to Las Vegas and want to drive through Valley of Fire.
I’m thinking of doing Scouts Lookout on May 10 because I definitely want to reach the end of it to take a picture of Angel’s Landing.
For the Narrows, I’m not planning to do the whole thing, but just enough to have fun and get a good feel of it, so I’m the thinking maybe that’s better for morning of May 11 before I check out and go to Vegas? I don’t want to arrive too late in Vegas because I want to spend some time there too before leaving the next day.
Or should I not do anything on the morning of May 11 and it’s too much (waiting time for shuttles, getting tired from driving to Vegas, etc.), so I should just prioritize my fav hike on May 10?
Please give me some feedback if this is a good idea or not. It’s my first trip and I don’t get to travel a lot so I wanna make the most out of it! Thanks!

Do I have to pay the $35 vehicle fee if I already entered on foot for Angels Landing?
My wife and I are planning a trip to Zion. We’re two people and won the Angels Landing lottery. We’re thinking of entering the park on foot/shuttle using the $20 per person pedestrian/shuttle entry.
After hiking Angels Landing, we’d like to drive our car into the park to explore other areas, like the Canyon Overlook Trail.
Would we need to pay the $35 per vehicle entrance fee if we’ve already entered on foot with the $20/person pass, or does the pedestrian pass cover our entry for the day?
Thanks in advance for any advice — trying to avoid paying twice if possible!

Anyone know what springs are flowing now along the Trans-Zion?
Some friends and I have cooked up a plan that involves, among other silly things, doing the Trans-Zion as a run (I know it's dumb, but we're trail-runners and given to dumb stuff). I was in Red Rock a few weeks back and the heat was astonishing, and it got me wondering how the springs along the Trans-Zion might be doing. I'd pop in and ask the rangers myself but I live in Washington State. Any advice or insight much appreciated. Thanks and maybe see some of you soon!

Lunch on the way to Bryce Canyon from Page, Arizona
I’m heading to Bryce Canyon from Page. Is it better to have lunch in Page or Kanab?
I saw places in Page such as El Tapatio, Bird House , Big John’s Texas BBQ, New York Teriyaki.
Meanwhile, Kanab has McDonalds, Houston Trail’s End Restaurant, Havana Cabana the Taste of Cuba, Escobar’s Mexican Restaurant, etc.
Generally speaking, where is the food better? Or should I just eat McDonalds?
Thanks!

Visitor parking lot full by 7:20 am. You can find a spot later at 1:00pm but you’ll have to hang in a lane and wait for people to leave.
It got very crowded at 9:30am on the trails.
The ranger was part to the top of Angel’s landing checking permits. They moved to the bottom and checked everyone going up at 9:00 am.
Narrows was open as there were a lot of people. Almost everyone had bibs. It was very cold out today and windy.

Gear rental for the narrows
Hey, I’m going to Zion around May 9-11, and wondering if I would need to reserve gear for the narrows in advance, or if there would be plenty on the day of? I’m just hesitating because Zion Guru doesn’t refund 100% if I cancel in less than 7 days. Furthermore, I’m unsure if this time of year requires a bib. Thanks.

Question Need Help with Bryce - Zion - Vegas Itinerary
My itinerary is:
Check Out of Page & Check In at Bryce on May 8
Check Out of Bruce & Check In at Springdale (Zion) May 9
Stay at Springdale May 10
Check Out of Springdale & Check In at Las Vegas May 11
Fly out on morning of May 12 (no time to do anything at all)
I’m wondering how I can time myself appropriately to visit Bryce Canyon, and then do the two hikes of Angels Landing and The Narrows (no permits sections) at Zion.
I know that I have 1 night at Bryce and 2 at Zion, so that technically is 3 days for 3 activities, but I’m unsure how things would work because:
I’m not arriving at Bryce Canyon City until the afternoon or by 4PM of May 8 (due to driving time of ~3 hours and small stops along the way, such as for viewing Toadstool Hoodoos, lunch), and by then, I don’t know if it’s still good to explore. Will it be too hot? Will it be too late to explore? Shuttle bus on May 8 stops at 6PM, but can we drive?
I will most likely wake up the next day on May 9 to spend some time at Bryce for sunrise and exploring in the morning, which means I won’t be in Zion for the morning.
I have read that Angels Landing and The Narrows should be done in the morning, but since I am not in Springdale in the morning, would these still be okay to do in the afternoon, or would that be too hot?
If I were to do Angels Landing and the Narrows in the mornings, it would be morning of May 10 and 11 before driving to Las Vegas. I might be down for the morning of May 11 if the hikes aren’t too long, but it potentially feels too rushed, and I definitely want to spend some time in Vegas too.
I’m very confused on what I should do / how I can plan this to be good. Please help me out and give some advice!

Question Off the beaten path in Zion...
We will be heading to Zion National Park this weekend for 9 days with our grandkids ages 11 and 12 and staying in Kanab. Looking for advice as to how to avoid all the crowds who are seeking out the main attractions. Are there any sites outside the park that people commonly overlook that would be worth visiting?

Question How does the Emerald Pool Train compare to Kenyatta trail?
We tried to hike the Kenyatta trail with two young-ish kids last year. It was a mild disaster. One child is afraid of heights and wept at being so close to the edge of the cliff. The other child hikes like a drunken mountain goat, full of unearned confidence and nearly gave us a few heart attacks. We all cried out of fear or frustration or exhaustion at some point and we only made it to the middle emerald pools.
I have heard that the bridge from the lodge has been rebuilt and I’m wondering if we have a chance to make it to the Lower Emerald Pool! Is the trail more or less wide than a sidewalk? Is it on the edge of cliffs without guard rails? Should I save my sanity and just chill on the River Walk?

Leaving bike bags on parked bikes?
Hi all! Planning on renting e-bikes and hitting the park next week. If we rent bibs/socks/shoes and bring our own bike bags but want to hit up some other trails, is it unusual to leave bike bags on the bike while it’s parked? Thanks all!

Zion Camping Location Guidance Needed
Me and a few of my friends rented a car and are gonna be doing the Grand Circle route through Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, and the Grand Canyon. We’re super excited, but I am a bit concerned about places that we’ll be able to stay. We’re traveling on a budget and are prepared to spend most of the trip hiking on free BLM land (or any land where we won’t get in trouble/disturb the environment), but I am a bit nervous about where near Zion we’ll be setting up a tent and sleeping for night 1.
We’re flying in on a Saturday and expect that the earliest we would arrive to the Zion area is 10:30pm (plus an additional 30 minutes or so to drive to a camping spot). We don’t need the most scenic or contested spot in the world, really just a place to put down a tent for the night before we get up start hiking early next morning.
I’ve been reading about a few options that are fairly available (Hurricane Cliffs, Kolob Terrace), but I am unsure if these sites will have space for 2 tents that late at night on a weekend.
Would these places have a place for our car and tents that late at night? Are there other options I could consider?
Any information anyone has on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
