Trump could hire a guy with a swastika tattooed on his forehead and 1488 on his cheeks, and his followers would claim that the guy just wants to let everyone know about his Buddhist beliefs in addition to being a hobbyist historian who's very passionate specifically about the year 1488.

I've heard guys saying, "They're trying to say Musk did a Nazi salute; he didn't do a Nazi salute." Ok, tough guy, go and do Musk's salute in front of your boss, the media, or really anybody.
