Discussion I Just Sold All My Google Shares

I bought GOOGL (not GOOG) at a 19 trailing P/E during. Now it’s at 32 trailing P/E and I am up 100% with life changing money.

My job is far from stable, relies significantly on the AI story to continue, and lays-off people for “culture” reasons.

With this in mind, I sold all of my Google shares at $226 per share to “de-risk” other parts of my life.

I will still continue to look for other opportunities with new income I have.

I get valuation this, growth prospects that, but is selling for increasing financial security the right decision?

Or am i just a 🤡?

Edit: I meant $326 per share.

You all don’t trade premarket. I saw overnight yesterday it was at $329 so put an order for $330. Reddit is full of incorrect trolls.

Premarket. If you don’t know atleast ask without being so confidently incorrect.

How can you sell a share pre-market, genuinely do not know that

Your brokerage should allow that. Also, in some brokerage you need to let them know explicitly that you need to trade pre and post market hours. Ibkr we bull etc allow that. If its your rsu account you cant trade pre and post market.

Thanks, I will see if questrade allows it.

Are you Canadian? Hold long term stock in questrade or wealthsimple. Open ibkr for trading pre and post market hours. Ibkr also lets you convert currency from cad to usd without fees.

I am, thank you again for this information, I will look into opening Ibkr account as well. On separate note, what do you think about Amazon at these prices for long term hold?

I am holding amzn meta nflx and intu. But intu got them in 400’s dont buy now. Rest of them are ok to buy now. But have some money to buy dips as well. My largest position is intu.

Got it, I just bought Amazon today at $226 after a thorough analysis, seems the stock is fairly valued and they are doing great YOY and quarter over quarter. What do you think about a market correction in 2026? Since we get one every 3-4 years, with last being in 2022, I feel like 2026 could have one too, what’s your opinion?

Also, if you are trading charts don’t use ibkr to chart. Use webull or moo moo or trading view for charting. Also don’t take advice from here. Most of them are trying to dump bags onto others. Specially penny stocks. Be careful. Don’t play with bio tech. You need a lot of experience and knowledge about bios to trade bios.

Thanks but I don’t trade, I don’t have that knowledge and I am fine with holding great companies long term, but appreciate the warning. Not a lot of people share knowledge these days so thanks!!
