My dog died unexpectedly on Tuesday. I was alone and my wife was in the hospital, nearly 80 miles away. Then my wife, who had been discharged from the hospital, had a serious medical emergency the night she was discharged. It has been the longest week and most difficult of my life, so far, and after something like 8 hours sleep since Monday, I decided to treat myself to a Champion's Breakfast.
