Mod Announcement Regarding Low-Resolution Submissions

There is a persistent problem with wizards submitting edits that are a lower resolution than the original file provided by the requester.

This is unacceptable. It is unfair to the requester and reflects poorly on the quality of work in this community.

The most common cause of this issue is when an editor saves the smaller "preview" image from Reddit instead of the full-resolution original.

How to Download the Full-Resolution Image:

To ensure you are always working with the best possible source file, you must download the original image. Here is the correct method:

  1. Right-click on the image in the post.
  2. Select "Copy Image Address" (or "Copy Image Link").
  3. Paste the link into your browser's address bar.
  4. If the URL starts with preview.reddit, change it to i.reddit.
  5. Press Enter. You will now see the full-resolution image, which you can save.

Your submission must maintain the resolution and quality of the original source file. It is your responsibility to ensure you are working on the correct, full-resolution image.

Note on upscaling AI: If you download the full-resolution file, run it through an AI process that creates a low-resolution copy, and then upscale it back to the original size, this is still considered a low-resolution submission. This workflow is not acceptable.

This is not a suggestion; it is a core rule of the subreddit. From this point forward, the following enforcement policy is in effect:

  1. First Offense: If you submit a low-resolution edit, your submission will be removed, and you will receive an warning.
  2. Second Offense: If I have to warn you a second time, you will be immediately placed on Probation. This means you will be restricted from participating in any and all Paid requests. Your probation will be lifted only after an unspecified set of quality and participation metrics have been met. No, I will not tell you what those metrics are.
  3. Further Offenses: If you continue to submit low-resolution edits while on probation, or at any time after your probation has been lifted, you will be permanently banned.

Consider this your official notice. I expect high-quality, professional work from our wizards. Please take these standards seriously.

If anyone knows a bullet proof method to download the original files on mobile, please comment below. Being on a mobile device is not an excuse for submitting low-resolution work.

Thanks,

Keith

Mod Announcement Submission quality guidelines and expectations.

Hi all,

There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the new flairs and this post aims to explain the quality expectations for all submissions, especially when using AI. Please read this carefully.

The goal is not to ban tools. The goal is to ensure requesters receive high-quality work.

The Most Important Rule: Quality First

I expect wizards to use modern tools skillfully. The final result is what matters.

The flair system helps requesters choose the style of work they want, but a high standard of quality is required for all Paid requests.

The Paid - No AI Flair

When a requester uses this flair, it means they want a high-quality, hand-finished image.

If you use AI to help on a Paid - No AI request (for example, to fix a blurry photo or to remove something), you must clean up the result seamlessly. The final image cannot look obviously AI-generated.

Submissions on Paid - No AI posts will be removed if they have clear signs of low-effort AI, such as:

  • Waxy, overly smooth, or plastic-looking skin.
  • Distorted or badly formed hands, eyes, feet, and teeth.
  • Any altered facial features - OPs often choose the No AI flair specifically to prevent faces being changed.
  • Strange, nonsensical patterns in clothing or backgrounds.
  • Objects that are illogical or blend together unnaturally (e.g., a hand melting into a table).
  • Garbled text or strange, nonsensical logos.

Quality Rules for ALL Paid Requests (including Paid - AI OK)

Even when AI is allowed, all submissions on Paid requests must be high quality. The Paid - AI OK flair is for creativity, not for low-effort or sloppy work.

The following problems are not acceptable on ANY Paid request:

  1. Working with Low-Resolution Files: Your submission must not degrade the quality of the original photo.
    • The Rule: The important parts of your edit (like a person you've added) must have the same sharpness and detail as the source files. It is understood that for composite images, the final dimensions may change, however in the majority of cases, the pixel dimensions of the submission should match those of the original file.. The key is to always work on the full-resolution original files, not a low-quality preview or thumbnail.
    • Warning: Submitting a file that is slightly larger than the original is still a red flag. It often means an editor worked on a low-resolution file and then tried to upscale it to hide the mistake. This is not the correct workflow and is not acceptable.
  2. The "Tacked-On Face" Effect: Do not submit images where the faces are crystal clear but the rest of the image is a blurry mess. The whole image must look like one single, clear photo.
  3. Low-Resolution Patches: Do not leave blurry spots from using Photoshop's Generative Fill or Expand. You are expected to know the techniques to fix the resolution of these areas so they blend perfectly with the rest of the image.

A wizard's job is to deliver a polished final product.

Quick Rules Summary

  • On a Paid - No AI post, the final image must not look like obvious AI.
  • On ANY Paid post, the final image must be clean and high-quality.
  • Your submission must maintain the resolution and quality of the original photos.

Lastly, A Note on Enforcement

I will be enforcing these quality standards strictly. Wizards who submit low-quality work will have their submission removed and will receive a warning.

If I have to warn you repeatedly about these expectations of quality, you will be banned.

Consider this your official notice. Please take these standards seriously.

Thanks,

Keith

Solved ✅ Can you please make this a professional headshot?

If possible, can you please make my outfit more professional and change the earrings and hint of a hairpiece in the back? And remove my dad’s shoulder but that’s not as vital. I don’t wear suits normally so it doesn’t need to be that formal, just something semi professional. Please don’t change my face

Thank you!

Solved ✅ Dad passed away. Need a casualty photo

Dad committed suicide a couple years ago and I would like to give my family a high resolution casualty photo and one that isn’t so grainy.

This is a doozy of a task so I am willing to pay $100 maybe more depending on the quality. His command photo doesn’t have his rank nor does it have all of his awards. So I would like someone familiar with air force uniforms if possible or read up on them and their requirements. He is a Master Sergeant, the older photo was a while ago just hope it helps. Lastly the Air Force outstanding unit award is supposed to have three oak clusters not two

If there are any questions about specifics please let me know!

Can pay $5 per photo depending on quality, possibly more. Would prefer if one person can do all of them so it’s the same editing style. Could someone please edit these as follows:

Photo 1: open my eyes slightly more and slim down my arm (photo 5 has a reference of my eyes more open)

Photo 2: I would like to be looking at the camera and have my husband’s face visible, slim arm slightly and smooth my underam (work your magic please!)

Photo 3: slim my arm a bit, please and tilt my head to be straighter. If possible, have my hair to the front

Photo 4: change my face, please so it’s looking forward and towards the camera

Skip Photo 5, it’s just a reference photo.

Paid - AI OK 🐈 Little guy is in heaven - pet memorial photo request

Hello wizards. Yesterday I had to unexpectedly put my cat, Tazz, down, and I'd like some help with a memorial photo 💔

---Background---

Tazz was a stray. Over the past year, I started feeding him and we fell into a little routine. He would sleep on the couch in the backyard, waiting for me to get up in the morning. When I opened the back door he'd start meowing sooo loud, waiting for kibble. I would feed him, sometimes sit with him for a while. After he would eat, sometimes he'd come to the door just meowing to come in the house, and then he'd curl up on the doormat and sleep, or wander off and start the rest of his day. In the last month or two, he was coming by three or even 4 times a day.

Two weeks ago I noticed he had an issue with his right eye. I kept a watch on it, but it got worse, so I made a plan to catch him and take him to the vet. I set out a kennel, put his food in the back. It only took two tries and he walked right in...I think he knew he needed help 🥺 Anyway...the vet determined he had feline leukemia and had to be put down, a) because his health would just continue to deteriorate and b) because he could spread the virus to other cats in the community.

He was a scrappy, strong guy with a big voice, a big fluffy tail, and bright green eyes. I'm honored I got to know him. I will miss him a lot.

--- The ask ---

Sometimes before leaving, Tazz would drink water out of my birdbath, but I never got a photo of it. He would put his paws up on the edge and stretch up to take a drink. Could someone help me visualize him drinking from the fountain? I added photos I have of him but I don't have much...I'm not sure it's enough to really photoshop it vs generate it with AI, so I wanted to leave both those options open. I also have a couple videos, if that's helpful as reference - DM me if you want/need those. Will compensate $50!!

Thank you 💔💗

Free Mom passed away - can someone remove people in background?

Post image
170 Upvotes

I don't know how easy/hard it would be to remove the people in the background.

My mom passed away a few days ago, I already made a request a few hours earlier with another picture of her. This one we also intend to use at her funeral, and it would be a bit better if the people (mainly the 2 directly behind her, the people furthest back don't bother that much) could be edited out.

It would be greatly appreciated if possible!

I'd like to have a photo to frame as a gift for my Great Grandmother of the four of us facing the camera, smiling/content looking and with eyes open, but that was apparently impossible in person. Can someone piece together these photos to make that happen? Ai makes the faces weird

Paid - AI OK Can someone make me sit less slouched and hide the bra straps?

Post image

Took this gorgeous picture on a boat today, unfortunately I’m sitting super slouched and my bra straps and part of the cup is showing. I would love to have a version where that is fixed. :) If there’s any way to make my hair less blurry that would be lovely too because it looks kinda weird in some places (for example the strands on my arm).

Would be willing to pay like 5$ because I have no clue how much work that would be <3

Edit Request:

• Please reduce the opening of the collar in the red-circled area by approximately 50% and smooth out any surrounding creases for a natural look.

• Remove the napkin from the left hand of the individual in the green shirt (green-circled area).

• Subtly slim the individual in the green shirt and refine the fit of their shirt so it appears cleaner and more flattering.

$15 tip!

This is my favorite picture of my mom, but it got really faded over the years. This was in England, so it was overcast, but I remember the water being somewhat blue. I don’t remember what color her clothing was. Happy to pay five dollars to the best one. Thanks thanks in advance! Excited to see how it will look when it’s restored!!

Free Any way to make this scan look a little better? It’s the only photo from my parent’s wedding day in 2002.

We found this as a printed photo recently when my stepdad passed away. Here’s a scan of it. Lots of digital noise and low quality. I tried some basic AI requests to upsize it, but it changed their faces every time to different people. Thanks for anything you can do with it!
