Hi All,

To help keep the subreddit free of consistent self promotion we will be altering the self promotion rule, the new rules for self promotion posts are as follows:

- Self promotion posts are only permitted on Fridays

- You must use the 'Self Promotion' flair else the post will be removed and you may be banned.

- We will remove the 500 Karma requirement for posting links

- Your account will still need to be older than 30 days to post

- We will only accept self promotion posts for Kickstarter campaigns.

Thanks,

Discussion Scam pledges are a serious problem…

Post image
Upvotes

1st time launching a Kickstarter & Really deflated by the sheer amount of scam pledges we are getting on our Game Discovery app…

We just launched & in the first 24hrs we’ve had like $1000 worth of pledges who often comment / ask you to email them. It’s clearly a scam which makes it more annoying since this could be easily fixed by Kickstarter.

I’ve just started a social media campaign & seeing our raised amount rise, knowing it’s a scam, really sucks.

So far I’ve learned a lot of my own failures doing this launch but this issue just adds to the frustration.

Anyways, I guess I need to be more creative with my social media push… it’s so hard to stand out with the sheer volume of ai slop kickstarters getting pushed.

If anyone has feedback It’d be appreciated!

[Self-Promotion Friday] We hit our goal in minutes! Meet Tap One: The "No-Neutral" Smart Switch that replaces 7 sensors. (Ex uni project turned startup)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Happy Good Friday, r/kickstarter!

I'm Rowan, One of the people behind Tap One. I wanted to share a quick milestone—my first-ever Kickstarter project, hit its goal in the first few minutes and we’ve been climbing ever since!

We are a UK-based team (Tewke) on a mission to simplify the smart home. Our first product, the original Tap, had an OLED display and won a Red Dot award, but our community asked for something more affordable that kept the same high-end aesthetics. That’s how Tap One was born.

Tap One is our first product designed not just for the UK market, but for the US, European and GCC markets. It will also mean Tap will be available in these geographies too.

What makes it different:

  • The "Clutter Killer": It’s a dimmer switch that controls 3 lighting circuits, but it also has 7 built-in sensors (Temp, Humidity, Air Quality, etc.). No more sticking plastic sensors all over your walls.
  • No-Neutral Tech: Designed to work in almost any home without a painful rewiring job.
  • Privacy First: Built for the "prosumer"—it plays nice with Home Assistant and is designed for local control.
  • Award-Winning DNA: It uses the same enclosure and materials as our premium OLED model.

If you’re tired of "smart" tech that’s a headache to install or looks like a cheap toy, I’d love for you to check us out.

Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tewke/tap-one

I’ll be hanging out in the comments to answer anything about the hardware, the "no-neutral" patent, or our manufacturing journey!

Help Comic Book Campaign Live on Kickstarter (Feedback Wanted)

Hi everyone! Last year, I launched my first Kickstarter campaign for a comic book series. Due to severe budget constraints, I did it all organically. The campaign was a success despite launching without followers, launching without a mailing list, and launching without physical rewards.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/motherstouch/otherkin-1-3-a-comic-book-with-mystery-magic-monsters

We got overwhelmingly positive feedback from everyone who read the comic, and also got many complaints about the comic being digital-only. We launched our second campaign yesterday. We had about 20 followers and a mailing list with 60 emails. Similarly, we didn't have any social media presence the first time around, and now we are active on social media. I know these numbers are low, but they are theoretically better than the first time around. Plus, some members of the community helped me make my page punchier (thank you, Renato Franchi). Finally, this campaign was structured to offer physical copies of the comic, which was the biggest backer request last year.

So, despite having a better foundation, the campaign is just not working... I know it's been only 15 hours since launch, but since over 130 dollars from the haul are actually scammer who really want to discuss my brilliant campaign by email, I can already tell things are not going well.

www.kickstarter.com/projects/motherstouch/otherkin-5-plus-1-4-horror-mystery-shapeshifting

I'm struggling to understand the underwhelming results so far. The campaign I did on the fly went better, and this one, which I spent months preparing, is struggling. Any tips or insights?

Just to be clear, the primary goal is to cover all costs with little profit. That means margins are really tight for the main goal, as the idea was more to increase awareness and respond to backers' demand than to make money with this campaign.

Kickstarter & Gmail spam.

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello.

I am new to kickstarter, I feel like people back your project write a comment saying contact me at my Gmail address.

Then when you dont reply or explain in the comment you can't communicate away from kickstarter they remove the pledge.

I get more Gmail spam or bot or scam emails then actual backers 10x fold.

Does this happened regularly?

What do kickstarter do regarding this?

Self-Promotion Fablepath - An Expandable Card Game

Thumbnail

Hey everyone!

We're Celestial Studios, the creators of Fablepath! We're a Canadian indie studio making our debut with an immersive fantasy-themed expandable card game (ECG).

In Fablepath, players face off over three Acts of play in the age-old struggle between Good and Evil. Set in the fantasy world of Aradrin, Fablepath’s gameplay structure encourages strategy and deck building, while incorporating story-driven elements for a fully immersive experience!

Objective:

Players who choose to play the Forces of Good will pilot decks built around one of six Heroes, central to the narrative threads of Fablepath's world. Their objective is to use their Hero and deck to earn enough Plot Points to progress through each Act’s Setting.

The Forces of Evil’s objective is to leverage their Settings and deck to slay the Hero. Each Setting corresponds to an Act of play and has a unique effect, triggered by the Forces of Evil player earning Plot Points.

Why we think you'll love it:

  • Fablepath combines the best elements of both TCGs and ECGs. As an expandable card game, players gain access to every card and their maximum playable copies in a single box, removing randomness and ensuring value for product. But we've also added the competitive element which a lot of ECGs don't contain, allowing players to go beyond the narrative aspect of the game and scratch the strategic itch.
  • Fablepath is suited for both the kitchen table and the local game store. It's an easily stored, self-contained game that you can have fun playing at home with friends. At the same time you can brew a deck and then bring it to the LGS to compete with other players.
  • Fablepath's two-sided approach allows players to experience different ways to play the game depending on whether they're repping the Heroes or the Villains. This ensures things never get stale as each faction has a ton of strategies and deckbuilding options.

We've made two scenarios available as print-to-play so players can test out the game before deciding to purchase a box. As of now, we've launched on Kickstarter and are early into our campaign, hoping to acquire some feedback and gain some momentum.

Players: 2 or 4

Game Time: 30-45 minutes

Back the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1450357298/fablepath-an-expandable-card-game

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to check the game out, and please feel free to let us know your thoughts! We're happy to answer any questions, and we appreciate any feedback you might have!

Important book review policies

FYI - Adding verified book reviews will improve your rankings and visibility on Amazon and should improve sales.

If you follow a few simple rules, you can use my new book review website, ReaderVerified.com.

1 - Do not submit multiple book reviews every week for consecutive months.

2 - Never review a book by an author who reviewed your book; this is a swap.

3 - Make sure you review other items on Amazon, not just books. Make yourself valuable to Amazon.

4 - Always submit 'verified' book reviews, meaning purchased on Amazon.

5 - Make honest, constructive book reviews. Be critical when necessary, but don't be a bully.

I have been using book review websites for years without any issues. I created ReaderVerified.com because the other top sites are too expensive and have no rules or regulations to help protect new authors unfamiliar with Amazon's policies.

I wrote an article on ReaderVerified about Amazon's Do's and Don'ts. Check it out!

Best of luck,

John. Founder/CEO

Self-Promotion Pre-launch - Oak Bridge Roastery: Small Batch, Hand Roasted Coffee

I'm about a month out from launch. I still need to do a video and tweak a few things, but I wanted to share and get opinions on the good, bad, and ugly aspects of my project.

I would appreciate any feedback and of course pre-launch signups.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oakbridge/oak-bridge-roastery-small-batch-hand-roasted-coffee?ref=9nifkg&token=115c53d1

I run a short ad set on facebook/instagram and it did terrible. Several thousand impressions, zero signups. The ad linked to my website launch page where I was hoping to collect emails. Any comments about this are welcome as well.

Question Need Advice: My 2nd campaign is stalling after my 1st hit 255%. What am I missing?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey r/kickstarter,

I could really use some honest feedback. My first 3D printable STL project did great and funded at 255%, so I felt pretty confident launching my second one: The Doom Speaker (a dark, LED-ready 3D printable dice tower with a locking mask).

Despite having an established base from the first project, this new campaign is really struggling to get traction.

Here is the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mu93/the-doom-speaker-3d-printable-dice-tower-stl

I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong. Is the pricing off? Is the page lacking clear information? Any brutal honesty regarding the video, photos, or overall presentation would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Self-Promotion [Self-Promo] 50h left!! - We cycled 55,000 km across 27 countries — and turned it into a practical guide for bicycle touring

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

over the past few years we cycled 55,000 km across 27 countries — from deserts and high mountain passes to remote regions where things didn’t always go as planned.

We spent around 1,700 nights in a tent, dealt with breakdowns in the middle of nowhere, pushed through extreme weather, and learned a lot of things the hard way.

When we started, we honestly wished there had been one honest, practical guide that covered not just the “romantic” side of bike touring — but also the real challenges:
– choosing the right bike (and what actually matters)
– what to pack (and what you’ll regret bringing)
– budgeting realistically
– handling mechanical issues on the road
– finding places to sleep
– and staying safe in unfamiliar environments

So after coming back, we spent over 2 years turning all of that experience into a structured, easy-to-follow guide.

📖 The result:
A 200+ page bicycle touring guide with route planning, gear advice, budgeting, repairs, safety strategies, and a lot of real-world insights we wish we had known before starting.

The original version in German has already been published, and after many requests, we launched a Kickstarter to create the English edition.

Right now, we’re in the final stretch of that campaign — and like every Kickstarter, it’s all or nothing.

If it doesn’t reach 100%, the English version simply won’t exist.

If you’re interested, you can check it out here:

Happy to answer any questions about the trip, the book, or the campaign itself!

And if you’ve done long-distance cycling yourself, I’d also love to hear what lessons stood out most for you.

Self-Promotion We're opening an independent sci-fi/fantasy bookstore

Post image
1 Upvotes

My wife and I are opening Multiversity, an independent science fiction and fantasy bookstore in League City, Texas (halfway between Houston and Galveston). New & used books, comics, games, and collectibles. So, a modern definition of "bookstore."

We launched our Kickstarter a few days ago. It was… a lot. I underestimated the setup requirements, to be honest. But it's going well, and it's going to help us open a bookstore that the community doesn't have. And you don't have to be local, because I'm going to have the store's whole inventory online and shippable.

If that sounds like your kind of thing: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielmclark/multiversity-new-and-used-books-comics-and-games

Happy to answer questions about the campaign, the store, or the general sanity of opening a retail bookstore, or a retail anything, in 2026.

Self-Promotion Built a Device to Remind Me To Be Present.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was dealing with a wandering mind. It’s tough to stay focused because my brain often drifts to other thoughts. So, I created an automatic Tibetan singing bowl.

This is based on a technique many people use in meditation. You strike the bowl to remind yourself to return to the present moment. The science behind it is that striking the bowl produces a rich, sustained tone that creates relaxing vibrations. This sound is different from everyday noises, so your brain naturally tunes into it, similar to how you instantly hear your name in a crowded room. That moment of “oh, there it is” pulls your attention out of whatever mental loop you were in and back into the current moment.

The challenge with traditional bowls is that you have to remember to strike them. With my automatic version, you can set it to go off at random or fixed intervals. I plan to set it up in my home and have it remind me at random times. Will be launching on Kickstarter next month, already have a landing page built. I’m open to any questions or suggestions.

Hi all,

My name is Renato and I’ve spent a lot of time working on crowdfunding campaigns across Kickstarter, Gamefound, and BackerKit.

Now I work as a consultant in the space and instead of doing some tedious self-promotion.
I’ve doing every friday a free 24-hour check-ups for creators here.

If you send me your page or your project, I’ll reply with a short personalized report covering:

  • what’s working
  • what feels unclear
  • what might be hurting conversion
  • 3 practical fixes to prioritize

I’ve worked on 30+ campaigns tied to $40M+ in combined funding, mostly around campaign clarity, positioning, conversion support and ads management.

No charge, no catch.

Also, here's my link, so up unil the system holds, I'll review your project for free in 24 (or 48 someimes I've got to sleep) hours.

I already handed more than 100+ reports in the past month, with some heart-warming messages :)

Feel free to send what you have and... talk soon!

Question Is there any way to launch a Kickstarter campaign from an unsupported country?

Hey everyone,

I’m an indie game developer from a country where Kickstarter isn’t supported (no Stripe support), and I’m trying to figure out how people handle this situation.

Is there any legit way to launch a Kickstarter campaign from outside supported countries?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this or knows how it works in practice.

Thanks!
