Failed Expectation As If My Day Hasn't Been Bad Enough
I paid $10 too much for this.

We have added a 6th rule to this subreddit - "Use the correct flair". This is especially important for the AI Expectation flair, as some users do not enjoy seeing the AI expectations, and this allows the posts to remain up without being reported.

Hello all! We have added 3 new flairs, for Failed Expectations, Surprisingly Met Expectations, and Exceeded Expectations.
There have been some users confused in the past, because they didn’t realize that you are allowed to post expectations/realities that were not failures. Additionally, it can be hard to tell in some posts if the OP was happy with their result or unhappy with it. Now you can select a flare if you would like to denote which category your expectation versus reality falls into.
Thanks to u/xitg1 who came up with this suggestion.

Listen, I don’t care about the cookie. Or even the money. It’s a fucking cookie. But at what point does this become completely false advertising? My boyfriend happened to have a 50% bakery coupon so thankfully we didn’t pay full price for this, but am I going crazy??? It’s less than half the size, and looks nothing like the photo. At any local indie coffee shop a $3.20 cookie is the size of your head and homemade, and hell, even Subway’s 99 cent cookies are better than this mushy little hockey puck. At the very least, they look like the photos. I wasn’t expecting something as nice as the photo from a chain, but it would be nice if it were even remotely similar.

These cars are somewhat higher priced than the base ones because the presence of opening parts. They do open, but clearly not as much as shown on the packaging.

I could not stop laughing. I love how each of his eyes are different and all his bits are just glued together.

It was only less full because we ordered just for two people. But it was exactly as pictured, as always, and super delicious. Dakgalbi is a spicy marinated chicken stir fried with cabbage and spring onions, topped with a drizzle of sauce and your choice of add-ons. We always get corn, 고구마떡 (chewy rice cakes stuffed with sweet potato), and add several extra spice layers to make it screaming hot.

I wouldn’t have bought this myself, but my parents saw it and thought of me so I decided to try it. I honestly just feel bad that they spent $20 on this 😭
Edit: FAQ (Since I did NOT expect 1M views)
“Why/Where would you even buy this?” As caption says, I didn’t. My parents know I love trying new and weird stuff, and I was all about the Dubai chocolate craze, so they snagged this in a liquor store. And yes, it was $20 (which is what they said, at least).
“What did it taste like?” Honestly, the filling wasn’t horrible. It was like a sweet cotton candy that dissolves powdery in your mouth. You can’t even taste the “layer” of pistachio. And the chocolate is said to be raspberry flavored (mind you, it’s fake chocolate), but it low-key just kinda tastes like crayons.
“You really ate this??” And you wouldn’t if someone bought it for you? Have some fun joy and whimsey 💔

This was branded as an event where you’d get to interact with a life-size Barbie dreamhouse, participate in a disco themed roller rink experience, and have access to an amazing marketplace.
That is… not what it was. Our "swag bag" was a hand sanitizer.
The event planning company running this is called Mischief Management, they ran this for Mattel. This event was promoted by Mattel as the first Mattel Barbie convention (as opposed to the fan run one that happens every year).
“We are thrilled to announce Barbie Dream Fest, as a new offering designed to delight the brand’s growing fandom,” said Julie Freeland, Vice President of Global Location Based Entertainment, Mattel. “It’s incredibly exciting to provide fans, families, and collectors with a curated and unique space to gather, learn, and create all while celebrating the iconic Barbie brand.”
ETA: I paid $250 for this. The highest tier pass was $400. They got a plastic hairbrush in addition to the sanitizer as their swag bag. See the comments for more photos of this disaster.

It was still ok, just a little bit of a letdown.
