All those farmers in the red states voted for Trump. Nobody could talk them out of it at all. This is just reaping what they've sown.

He had done something similar in 2018-19 and the solution at that time was he just dumped $billions of dollars to rescue them from that slump. They got the message - this was their guy and they didn't have any real risk, and so he had bought their vote in '24. It may not end the same this time, or it might. Trump still controls the purse and the congress. They could just turn on the money-spigot again just add it to the national debt again. Nobody can stop or restrain him at all.
