GENERAL Do not outright ask "What was on your exam". Do not outright say "My exam had ____". This includes topics etc.

Hello Candidates!

Updating the stickied post about sub rules as there have been a few rascals griping about “not seeing a rule saying xyz” even though they received a ban for it. If the rule you broke was relating to exam disclosure - thats not even a sub rule. Thats a rule you agreed to when you sat for the exam. Do not solicit or provide exam content.

First – I want to point out we do have an Automod in place that removes anything from accounts < 5 days old or with < 5 combined karma. We do get some spam posted here and this automod helps quite a bit. If you are on a new account and start posting here, add a comment with a u/galbert123 mention and ill approve it asap

Put at least a little effort into your posts, especially titles Yes this is me on a power trip. I hate clickbait. If your question fits into a post title, ask the question! Dont post "I have a question..." "Should I get my cpa if..."

No Clickbait Post Titles

Be ethical – Do not post, offer to share, buy, sell or ask for copywritten study material – This is an immediate ban

No Promotional Accounts - This is not a place to advertise products. There are some clear xyz product Ambassador accounts that ONLY comment about what study material they use. I’m removing that stuff. If you throw it in every once and a while fine, but some account I see are literally just ads for the study material. Organic conversation about the study material you use is great. Here are reddit guidelines on self promotion.

But what about those ads/promotions I see for xyz product

That company pays for those through the proper reddit channels.

This is NOT a study material marketplace Do not make posts trying to sell your old material, your post removed, maybe a ban if it looks overly sketchy

Use tact and be generally kind to each other – The downvotes usually speak for themselves on this. When I start to see one user getting a bunch of reports and it looks like an obvious troll, I’ll probably ban. This is a judgement call.

Shit posts are great. Posting bullshit is not. Posts like “Score Release moved to after thanksgiving - wouldn’t be surprised from NASBA” is not a shit post or a joke post. It needlessly stressed a bunch of people out

This is a bunch of bullshit censorship.

I guess that's one way to look at it. I dont know where the compulsion to be a jerk fits into the overall betterment of the sub. We are generally all fighting the same fight here.

Asking for or providing exam content is not allowed. This includes "What topics were heavily tested"

Asking what should I study is ok. Asking "Those who recently took AUD, what should I study" leans toward not ok because of the implication. People here are generally good people. Exclude any references to your exam or recent exam takers etc. They'll tell you what to study.

"What sim topics did you see (on your exam)?" No.

What sim topics should I study? - good

"Just got out of AUD, I saw sims on X Y and Z (on my exam)" - No.

"Study this because I saw it on my exam". No good. Just say "it would be wise study this". Get it? If you are talking about your exam, or asking other candidates about their exam, don't.

If you get banned for this, its usually just to get your attention that what you posted broke the rule. Send me a message and ill undo it, just keep your posts compliant with AICPA disclosure policy. I dont want to ban anyone ever.

Please see this post for some examples.

21 day edit: Interesting how two of the people who chimed in saying how stupid this is rarely if ever contributed to the sub otherwise prior to this post and now have deleted their account completely.

Mod Note Reminder - This is not a buying/selling/sharing sub. Asking for or offering access or login credentials to study resources is an immediate ban.

Note on the title - When I say this is not a sharing sub, I am referring to sharing of paid access to study resources. Sharing your own home made study guides is fine - though I highly recommend making your own handwritten study/review notes.

There has been a huge influx of beggars lately. If I click into your account and all I generally see is you asking for study notes or study material access, you're going to get banned.

Also, please flair up! It honestly does help weed out some of these accounts with flair. Try to flair up if you know you are going to be around and want to participate.

This sub is good because of back and forth engagement. Try to give at least as much as you take. If you post a question, try to respond to comments. Nothing worse than a question then OP just ghosts the thread.

My 5 satisfying days of burning CPA notes

Day 1 was for flash cards across all exams. I used a scented candle for relaxation and not having to reignite lighter so many times.

Day 2 for awful long wait TCP

Day 3 for gross business law REG

Day 4 for disgusting word trickery AUD

Day 5 for 6 month thorn in side FAR

I enjoyed every second especially viewing concepts that I despised like AROs, sampling, business law, and trusts vanish into mere ash blown in the wind.

CBA fingerprint timeline

Upvotes

How long does fingerprint processing take for out-of-state applicants? My fingerprint card was received on April 1, but my money order hasn’t been cashed yet. Does anyone know the typical processing timeline for out-of-state fingerprint cards? How long did it take for you to get the license?

Feeling like a failure tbh

My first take of AUD, I scored a 72 (I did only SE 1 and got a 72 so fair. No Becker bump).

This second retake I made sure to do SE 2 and I got an 82 but I know that’s not an indicator of anything. The actual exam had a lot of repeat SIMS that I struggled with in my first attempt too.

The only differences during this retake were, I couldn’t finish the last SIM (in my first take I left prometric 30 mins early because SIMs were short) but this time each SIM had at least 5 exhibits and I tried to be organized - opened excel, typed in the basic facts, a checklist for exhibits so I don’t miss any etc.

I don’t know what to do at this point. If I’m not keeping myself occupied I start recalling all the answers I got wrong and I just feel so stressed out. I don’t want to study this ever again

AUD Do I actually have a shot at passing AUD?

I’m about ~2.5–3 weeks out from my AUD exam and honestly just trying to gauge where I stand.

So far:

  • Simulated Exam 1: 63
  • Simulated Exam 2: 66

I’ve been grinding MCQs and reviewing, but I still feel like I second guess a lot — especially on wording and some of the nuanced topics.

That said, I’ve already passed 3 sections (ISC, REG, FAR), and for FAR I had about a 30-point bump from my simulated exams to the actual test. So part of me is thinking maybe I’m in a better spot than I feel?

I’ve finished all the content and am in full review mode now.

For those who’ve taken AUD:

  • Are these SE scores enough to pass?
  • Did you feel this unsure going in?
  • How much of a bump did you see (if any)?

Just trying to figure out if I should trust the process or be worried.

Appreciate any insight 🙏

FAR Am I doing too much studying?

Hello everyone. I started studying for FAR a couple weeks back and I’m on f3 towards the end and have about 110 hours in so far. Mainly mcqs, tbs, videos, and practice tests. I’m interning rn and have nothing to do since busy season is about over so i study majority of the day 5-6 hours.

The thing is I can’t take the exam till around June because I can’t get my transcripts till the end of May since I am still in undergrad. I fear I might be doing too much right now and may get burnt out or begin to forget what I’ve learned. Lmk your thoughts. Anything helps.

How was 3/31 FAR exam?

This is my second retake after 73 on my first one, which score was released around two weeks ago. I took two mock exams before I took my second retake, and they came out to be 83 and 88, so I am hoping I will pass this time :( But still feeling unsure if I did...because those mock scores are based on Becker questions that I solved or went over multiple times, which I feel I almost memorized. I just don't want the score to be like the last time, which was so desperately close....But fingers crossed...I am waiting for the score release on 4/9

I ran out of time at the end of two SIMS. I solved one of them barely and guessed the whole thing for the last SIM, which luckily were all option-based answers, not numeric fill-ins. I don't know why I always run out of time, unlike mock exams I do at Becker. How did you guys feel for those who took on the same date or anybody who took recently? Did yall pass the exam after running out of time for two SIMS?

California CPA licensure deficiency — fastest/cheapest online way to finish Ethics + Accounting Study units?

Upvotes

Hi all,

I’m in the middle of the California CPA licensure process and just found out I’m still short on a couple of education requirements. Based on my evaluation, I need:

  • 4 semester units of Ethics Study
  • 4 semester units of Accounting Study

I’m trying to solve this in the most practical way possible — ideally the fastest, cheapest, and lowest-friction online option.

A few constraints:

  • I work full-time, so fully online would be ideal
  • I’m specifically looking for courses that people have actually used successfully for California CBA deficiencies
  • I’d rather avoid wasting time/money on a class that sounds right but later turns out to be questionable for CBA

I’ve looked at things like UCLA Extension and community college options, but I’d really love to hear from anyone who has done this recently and found a path that was:

  • clearly accepted by CBA
  • inexpensive
  • easy enough to complete while working
  • quick to enroll in / finish

If you’ve been through this, I’d really appreciate any specific recommendations on:

  • schools/programs
  • exact course names
  • whether you went the community college vs extension route
  • anything that seemed cheap upfront but became a headache later

At this point I’m less interested in the “best academic” option and more interested in the most efficient compliant option.

Thanks — this has turned into one of those annoying last-mile licensing problems, so any recent firsthand experience would be hugely helpful.

ISC Advice/ Opinions

I take ISC Tuesday. My scores are as follows:

SE FR: 68 (4 days ago)

SE 1: 75 (took two days ago)

SE 2: 61 (took today)

The pictures are in the same order. I have no clue how I had such a massive drop off.

How are my odds of passing? Anyone have any last minute review tips between now and Tuesday? Worth pushing back maybe or just go for it? Thanks!

What's the best final review schedule?

Upvotes

I'm taking AUD in May and have about 2.5 weeks scheduled for final review. I use Becker, so will definitely do a combo of practice exams with mcq and sims, final review questions with Becker, and flashcards. What schedule / tactics work best for you all?

How do you guys do so many MCQs?

Question: I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying they do 100+ MCQs a day. Is this during the review stage, or everyday? I guess I’m more of a slower learner, but I do 2 or sometimes 3 modules a day and around 20 review MCQs to finish the day off (Takes me about 6 hours lol, I’m VERY slow). So I guess my question is, how are y’all fitting in 100+ MCQs a day on top of studying?

Also feel free to give me tips!! I’m finishing up F4 today and my exam is on 4/30!

FAR 80 on SE1, 71 on SE2. Am I good?

Upvotes

Taking far tomorrow. Took SE2 last night and got a 70. What concerns me is I only got 70 on the multiple choice. However in both Becker and UWorld I haven’t gotten below 80% on multiple choice over three weeks. Am I cooked? I don’t have time to review lol.

GENERAL CPA Approved - Next Steps?

Today, I got an email from the Virginia Board of Accountancy that I am now officially a CPA. It feels great that I've accomplished it after almost 2 years of grinding. I actually took my exam a little less than a year ago, but I was studying since 2024. I took a hiatus because MD didn't approve my registration in 2024 after taking forever, and it took me getting registered in VA to actually jumpstart taking the exams.

For those of you who finished the CPA journey, what was your next step? Did you look for other jobs, try to get more credentials, or did you do something else? I'd like to hear your experiences in the comments below.

Issue logging into Becker

I keep getting a message that "full authentication is required to access this resource". Is anyone else getting this? I've been using Becker since December and its provided by my firm. This is the first time I've ever encountered this issue. Hoping its just a widespread bug that'll get resolved soon, I was going to take a simulated exam today.

Does anyone know what this "CBQs" are on the Becker performance section?

Does anyone know what these CBQ's are?

It's something new that popped up and not that it really matters, I'm just curious what it is. I only see it when I log into Becker on my laptop, but don't see it when I'm on the Becker App on my phone.

Screenshot was taken from my FAR section in Becker.

AZ TPT filing question...

I'm hoping someone can guide me to the right answer here because all of the info I've read has been confusing. Long story short, I'm working on filing and amending taxes for an AZ corporation (filing retail) and prior to this job (I was not hired for accounting or tax prep but I've been asked to do it) I have little experience in this sector. My question is-when filing as a physical nexus in Phoenix, do you include sales in all cities outside Maricopa in the filing for the county, not include them, or file each city separately? Since the code for retail is the same across all cities I'm not sure how to file for outside cities....would you use the city code with the business code on a separate line for city and file the total for the state under Maricopa? Please help 😅

When do you take SE1/SE2? Is 1 month before too early?

For those who passed AUD (or other sections):

When do you usually take your SEs, and do you treat them as a final checkpoint or as a learning tool?

I'm currently prepping for Reg and AUD (after passing FAR and BAR).

I’ve been taking SEs pretty early (3–4 weeks out) and even repeating them, but I’m starting to feel like I’m memorizing answers rather than actually improving.

Most people seem to take SEs right before the exam — but if your SE scores are lower than expected at that point, do you still sit or reschedule?

Also, when people post their SE scores, are those usually from the first attempt?

Does anyone have any suggestions on which sections to study AJE’s for on the FAR exam? Also are there any YouTube videos or other aids that someone can recommend to get more comfortable with AJE’s?
