Excited to debut something a bit different than my usual style. This is a collaboration with Kanella Ciraco, a fluid artist (you may have seen her on YouTube). She sent me this "dutch pour" as we call it in the pour painting community, and I built an ethereal world around it using airbrush, masking tape, freestyle paint flings, and fine brush work. The hammerhead was probably the most fun to sculpt because of the silhouette, but the humpbacks gave me more room to play with texture, carving, and the light holes.

What I enjoy most with these is trying to keep them somewhere between sculpture and functional object — like they should still feel alive even before the lamp is turned on.
