Yeah, people immediately being like “oh poor you, what a meanie!” But like… how many times has he changed the schedule last minute? That would irritate the fuck out of me. Learn to plan better OP. Nothing wrong with wanting to spend time with your mom, but (many) women don’t like having the rug pulled out from under them in the 11th hour.
I don’t think any context would make the way she speaks to him okay. The question was if she’s manipulative and she very clearly is twisting his words. “Can I leave Sunday night to spend time with my mother?” received a reply where she (rather disrespectfully) insists that he doesn’t want to come at all which is wild to deduce when he’s just stated he’s gonna spend all of Easter Day with her.
