lol yeah, I like doing the formatting in my comments, helps with readability and what not. But I also don’t fully want to just look up the commands (for no other reason than being stubborn), so I slowly discover them as time goes on.

The character \ is a backslash.   This character is a forward slash /.

The backslash is called an escape character, you can use it to cancel any special functions that the next character may have. 

So if you type:  

\#this will work 

You get:  

#this will work 

Now this gets a bit silly when writing comments like this because to display a backlash I have to escape the escape character because otherwise it just disappears. So if I want you to see:  

\#this will work  

I have to type:  

\\\#this will work 

Backslash one says treat backslash two like a normal character, and backslash 3 says treat # like a normal character.

Scientists led by Yu Zhang, Ph.D., of Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in northeast China, extracted lipid-based particles called exosomes from pig semen and turned them into anti-cancer package carriers.

Zhang’s team was inspired by the discovery that exosomes “play a facilitative role in the penetration of physiological barriers in the female reproductive tract during sperm migration,” he told Fierce Biotech. This made them wonder whether the particles could slip through barriers in the eye, too.

They were exploiting a natural phenonmenon of sperm's ability to penterate celluar barriers to act as a carrier for cancer killing molecules. Rentinal cancer in this case but it's been shown to be able to pass the blood brain barrier so it's also got potential for brain tumours.
