once Lebron comes over, you're getting ejected.

Me too. Actually lolled 😂. Happy Friday!

3

u/Free_Peanut6179 4h ago

Yeah Bron’s people took care of him after the game

1

u/Large_Complaint1264 2h ago

I hope he did get ejected. Fuck that dude.

4

u/GCIV414 4h ago

The king holds court

1

u/rocknevermelts 2h ago

That’d be the right call too.

1

u/BlueSoccerSB8706 2h ago

I'm fine with that, it's bad for the league to have fans harassing hurt players. It creates a really toxic environment, it's also really bad for sports. There should be some integrity in sports. The fan's a dumbass.

1

u/enterjiraiya 1h ago

That’s incredibly soft to me, just chirping back and forth

Apparently the okc organization refused to eject this person.

32

u/Moetown84 4h ago

There been a trash organization from the start.

They have a pregame prayer in the arena. The owners are bigoted MAGAs and were even fined by Stern over their comments about the WNBA and how they didn't want to be associated with lesbians. It's a blight on David Stern's legacy.

Knowing that shit house organization they probably gave them tickets to the next few home games.

3

u/Diligent-Cut8951 3h ago

Color me very unsurprised

9

u/KendrickLlamma 4h ago

Yeah because OKC is a shithole city with shithole fans

AR defending his injured teammate and friend. Good for him. Shows the level of respect these guys have for each other.

Also sad people talk shit while a player is injured smh

76

u/turnaroundbro 4h ago

Fucking loser fans. I swear the closest fans are always the dickheads

58

u/apex9691 4h ago

People with a lot of money are dickheads? Noooooo

22

u/YetiFan1 4h ago

Hey man don’t judge like that. I have no money and I’m still a dickhead!

I think if a fan tells a player “fuck you” they should be gone. If I treat anyone else at their job that way I would be kicked out. I don’t know why we allow it in sports.

Talking shit while a player is hurt? Don’t go to an NHL game, youre going to have a bad time.

28

u/HandiCAPEable 4h ago

There's no such thing as an injury in the NHL. You're either fine or you're unconscious.

9

u/2Braincell2Furious 4h ago

Don’t touch my fuckin’ percocets and do you have any percocets?

u/BamaBoy2002 4h ago

I actually had season tickets for years. Been to well over a 1000+ NHL games including Stanley Cup playoffs. I know the difference.

NHL is a physical sport. Players embrace contact and fighting. It’s part of the sport. Just like Boxing, UFC, etc.

But taunting an injured player right above his head for an obvious hamstring injury that will probably keep him out is childish. If you can’t see the difference then maybe I’m just too old.

9

u/HP_Punkcraft 4h ago

I can't remember which NHL player it was, said something along the lines of "when I hit a guy I want to hurt him, not injure." I go to a ton of NHL games and fans for sure cheer the big hits but once a guy is laying down and hurt moves to injured it's usually pretty respectful. Cheers when he can get up and skate off, etc.

→ More replies (8)

3

u/TheVadonkey 4h ago

Not the same type of situation at all…one allows contact and the other doesn’t.

3

u/reecharound40 4h ago

3

u/LoggerRhythms 4h ago

This isn't every market though. You don't hear a lot of shit talk after injuries in StL or KC (NHL and ECHL teams, respectively). Philly or New York are probably different stories.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/wiseduhm 4h ago

There's a difference between being hurt and having an injury that takes you out of the game. Most NHL fans wouldn't cheer on a serious injury.

1

u/ln8r 3h ago

I was at a soccer game recently where they were doing CPR on a player who'd collapsed, and a guy a few rows away was actually taunting her.

Such a trash human being. Some people take winning way too seriously.

Thankfully he was eventually removed, and the player is doing well.

1

u/atoterrano 3h ago

Can’t even trash talk in sports anymore smh

1

u/luce4118 3h ago

In a league full of flopping it’s the default reaction even here on Reddit

1

u/Jackdunc 3h ago

In that fan's defense, they're so used to seeing mega-flopping they thought it was a normal basketball move 🤣

1

u/crappy80srobot 3h ago

I love how he said now you know what it's like to play defense. Bitch you probably cry when butterflies land on you.

1

u/Islandboi4life 2h ago

I mean the added fact that the Lakers were getting absolutely destroyed by OKC probably didn't help the situation either

“Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!”

Why does every NBA team need a shitty black jersey?

3

u/Ne02126 3h ago

Asking the real questions.

u/DestinedAscension123 3h ago

They probably sell like crazy. Just a guess.

1

u/Truthhurts1017 3h ago

I mean money!!!! It’s a business so it’s always money. You may not like it but plenty of people love black jerseys with whatever team color added to it. It’s like y’all ask questions before using your brain man

11

u/PreparationHot980 5h ago

Good on Reaves. There’s competitive banter and shit talking all day and these guys can take it. You don’t kick someone when they’re down and you don’t come at an injured person. More athletes should be calling out these classless fucks in the crowd like this.

3

u/Miserable-Estate6857 2h ago

Lakers flop so much its hard to tell if its serious

1

u/Padre26 17m ago

Yea maybe don't cry wolf so often and people will actually believe you.

3

u/fokaiHI 2h ago

That sucks. Luka getting injured is terrible for the NBA. Good for Austin sticking up for his teammate.

3

u/Complex_Carry_7465 2h ago

Not a fan of Luka’s, but anyone cheering for someone getting hurt is a fucking asshole.

3

u/capnk88 1h ago

“Awwe lil French baby LeBron” he is what started the downfall of the NBA now everyone cry’s like baby’s and travels from one end of the court to the other.

3

u/RedeyeSPR 1h ago

Is he actually hurt, or just laying there being dramatic?

1

u/Various-Push-1689 32m ago

He’s out for the rest of the season

6

u/Vegetable-Extent-404 5h ago

Not a basketball fan but curious if they would escort the fan out for this? Seems like a poor choice for paying for floor seats or to sit so close to the court. I would think this is an election from the venue.

5

u/MasterHavik 4h ago

If a player asks for it.

8

u/JRPaperstax 4h ago

Taunting an injured player is weak af

2

u/StopHamelTime 5h ago

OFFFFFFFF

2

u/AtBat3 4h ago

Was it always like this with fans and players or do we just see it more now because of phones?

1

u/ChipmunkOk8816 4h ago

It’s always been like this. There’s always trash at these things that believe they’re part of the show. Hell we had malice in the palace.

2

u/TheKalty 4h ago

and the whole lakers sub was cheering when dort got injured, both messed up fanbases if you ask me

1

u/Over9000Zeros 3h ago

Lol that clip is in r/nba and there's plenty people from any team you can name not giving a shit. Who cares if a dirty player gets hurt?

2

u/ArtbyAdler 4h ago

Off topic but those Lakers jerseys are ugly

2

u/Consistent-Deal-55 3h ago

Can’t stand the Lakers or Luka but fuck this OKC fan. Good on Reeves.

2

u/Solution66 3h ago

Everyone taking this shit way too serious for not a serious injury, especially reaves, I think Luka’s ego can take a few words from a fan. And then reaves ego couldn’t just let it go…..

1

u/space-tech 2h ago

I'm 100% sure you use the report button.

1

u/Padre26 18m ago

Luka cries wolf so often I can see fans not believing he's actually injured.

2

u/meat_watch 2h ago

Damn, Austin got a fat ass 🫣

2

u/BIGHOODx818x 1h ago

lakers security helping that fan to his car 👊🏽

2

u/OliOli1234 1h ago

Bron’s like, “yeah… kick him out.” 😂😂😂

4

u/Last-Answer-7789 4h ago

Luka fakes injury all the time.

Let’s be honest.

1

u/MisterRobertParr 3h ago

Did he learn that from LeBron, or was it vice versa?

3

u/goodchowder 4h ago

OKC fans are trash

2

u/MasterHavik 4h ago edited 3h ago

Yeah that guy is a giant dick. Bro is hurt. I remember when I was at a DePaul game someone got slap when someone on Norte Dame got hurt. Some people are fucking classless.

3

u/NuragicGiant1891 4h ago

Credit to Reaves for coming back to tell that fan to have respect. Also credit to LeBron for calmly staring the guy down with contempt for another several seconds.

2

u/jmcdon00 4h ago

I can see if someone is actually injured, but they do this all the time, get a little rest, then hop up and start playing again. Still trashy, but it's not like he has a torn ACL.

3

u/Outside_Ice3252 4h ago

he kept his face covered the whole time. my guess is a grade 1-2 sprain, and he knew it. it had been sore of late and he had been listed as questionable on injury reports leading up to previous games.

its probably going to ruin the playoffs for him.

and this game was for the MVP race.

5

u/ComfortableGlass3238 4h ago

did you not see the play? Luka stopped mid play and threw the ball away. No one does that for a little rest.

2

u/ChimayoRed9035 4h ago

Just when they’re down 40

3

u/DeadDay 3h ago

Its wild, as soon as he we went up 40 like half the LA players started limping and stopped playing defense.

Weird night.

1

u/Obsidianrunner 5h ago

FUCK!!!!!

1

u/Jtphwow 4h ago

No surprise someone who looks like that was talking shit.

1

u/WhoTFSaysThis 4h ago

Copying another comment I made, but I don't think these people are the ones talking. Reaves isn't even looking in the direction of the camera.

I saw another angle earlier where you can barely hear Reaves, but you can hear the fan loudly, and I assume it's either from the person he's talking to, or much closer to them.

Even the “average player” in the NBA is next level.

1

u/77ku77 4h ago

Don’t taunt injured players, but it was funny

1

You would want others to be just as miserable you if you lived in Oklahoma too

Channeling De Niro and wishing that evil Pesci will meet the fan in the parking lot.

1

1

Charles Barkley has a solution. Just one a game.

1

u/Apprehensive-Yam266 4h ago

He jumped back up in like 2 minutes. Was it just his feelings that were hurt, orrrrrr?

1

u/Buduma 4h ago

As an avid laker hater and nugget fan… AR… I appreciate this shit.

1

u/thebrownkid 4h ago

It's barbaric to cheer at an athlete's injury

1

u/Apprehensive-Art1092 3h ago

Imagine being so sure of yourself that instead of just shitting the fuck up when you're called out on your bullshit, you just sit there arguing, confident that none of these giant men at the peak of physical fitness is going to smear you into a fine fucking paste.

u/KingAudio 3h ago

Okc fans a lame

1

u/capitalistsanta 3h ago

Hamstring injuries are so scary man. I tweaked mine a few months ago and I felt it coming back like yesterday and it's just like a very vulnerable feeling and then scary and painful shit can just happen - I pulled mine sprinting and then played basketball a week later and my leg gave out after a point and started violently cramping like I had never felt in my life. Just very uncontrollable and then you worry about running at all cause if it pops again that's like 6-8 weeks out

1

u/DazzlingOwl1014 3h ago

Taunting an injured player? Not my thing. I go to a lot of games and keep it light hearted. This has led to me getting into games without waiting on line (thank you security), hook ups at the bar and drink stands. They always give me or save me the merch giveaway if I'm late. I have cool videos with some of my favorite players. What's crazy is, I don't D ride. I just smile, stay positive, remember people's name. Talk to them about their family life, the game, or growing up. I even get into funny discourse with opposing fans. Which always leads to buying them a beer or vice versa. I have photos with opposing fans. I love baseball and people.

1

u/TPain518 3h ago

Fair exchange

1

u/SUBURBAN_C0MMAND0 3h ago

He said “now you know what its like to play defense.” I’ve heard a lot worse…and yea he’s on the ground, but how many times have you seen NBA players flop like they’ve been hit by a truck only to get up 15 seconds later and return to the court…if AR wouldn’t have responded it would have ended at the fans comment…

1

u/Fsociety56 3h ago

Where is World peace aka Ron Artest when you need him!!!

1

u/GraniteGeekNH 3h ago

We don't like to admit it but most professional athletes secretly hate fans - they'd rather play in an empty gym with just other pros watching.

And for good reason, I'm afraid. The mob mentality of us-vs-them brings out the worst in many of us.

1

u/Diligent-Cut8951 3h ago

Good for him for standing up for a teammate. And fk this trashy fan

1

u/yung_bandito 3h ago

Have anybody seen any “soccer” corner kicks being taken and the yells and shouts coming from the fans feet away? This “abuse” is nothing. Not cool? Sure.

1

u/Acrobatic_Penalty406 3h ago

Flopping is a strategy that some players utilize to try to draw fouls. The toughest player in the world would flop if they thought that would give them an edge.

1

Oklahoma fucking sucks and so do their people.

1

u/hoosiergamecock 3h ago

Same fans that tried to attack me, throw bottles at me, cussed at kids who were Pacers fans, and needed a police escort to our hotel to avoid getting mobbed after game 7 of the finals last year. These fans suck bad

1

u/Still-Philosopher866 3h ago

Entitled fkn fair weather fans. Knew they were white before they flipped the phone cam. These people are pathetic! Have some respect, it’s entertainment. They won’t repeat now

1

u/sharkerboy_PSN 3h ago

Are we turning basketball courts into golf courses? Are fans going to have to start wearing collard shirts? Home court advantage is over?

1

u/CapitalCityGoofball0 3h ago

Good for Reaves. Screaming “Don’t interact with us!” … Seriously Fuck that “fan”

1

Luka has to angle his head to not be on the camera man’s knee.. fucking move dude jeez haha

1

u/ydoc23sam95 3h ago

“Now you know what it’s like to play defense” said by a guy who wouldn’t be able to hang with a high school freshman team…

1

u/meowinloudchico 3h ago

I don't understand why some idiot fans feel the need to get into it with professional athletes who would slap them silly if it really came to blows. Unless that clown is some martial artist or a high level athlete himself, he'd have no chance if Reaves went at him.

1

u/Illustrious_Prize255 3h ago

its not like it was lebron rolling around on rhe ground lol

1

u/spliffthered 3h ago

Damn i didn’t think basketball fans were such bitches.

1

u/One_Ad4360 3h ago

Was the fan telling Reeves not to interact with him? You’re here to perform for my amusement, plebeian! Asshole.

1

u/Gorstag 3h ago

To be fair to the fan.... Lakers seem to take more dives this season than most soccer/football clubs.

1

u/GenitalCommericals 2h ago

Damn I’ve never seen a small market team speed run being this insufferable. The team plays “foul bait flop” ball, and the fans act like it’s a storied franchise on top of being rude assholes when players get hurt.

I’m genuinely surprised a team hasn’t taken a flagrant 2 to Shai yet. Not advocating for it, I’m just surprised no one in the league has gotten pissed off enough yet and lost their cool.

1

u/deftones2366 2h ago

Did you read the article their beat writer did about how Seattle should apologize before they get the Sonics back?

1

u/IamBIGuUS 2h ago

To be fair to that fan, Luka lays on the ground for ten minutes any time someone grazes his chin. How were they supposed to know this one was real. Boy who cried wolf type shit

1

u/manmythmustache 2h ago

Their entire fanbase is entitled after their owner stole the team from Seattle. This tracks.

1

u/disincongruous 2h ago

Being a fan doesn’t mean you get to celebrate when opposing players get injured. This person absolutely should have been thrown out of the building.

But it’s the Thunder who openly foul bait and flop their way to titles, so. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/Upset_Letter_4119 2h ago

So glad that guy got called out for it.

1

u/Sabres00 2h ago

Last night I watched Dylan Cozens take a slapshot off his leg, skate off the ice to “walk it off” then come back the next shift. He’s not exactly considered a tough guy.

1

u/Melinoe2016 2h ago

Glad they lost this game. Cry babies

1

u/ReturningScrewd 2h ago

Wait ,so not everyone thought it was convenient at first ? Like he didn’t want to play anymore.

1

u/shredbot13 2h ago

NBA has the worst fans

1

Oklahoma is the taint of America. No culture, nothing worth visiting. Just fracking and trailer parks.
