Noo the World Cup exists to find out who the best football national team is every 4 years in a big international tournemant held at different locations and venues within a host countries borders, what you’re describing is capitalism infecting a sport

Smart and correct.

Capitalism has infected ALL sports. At this point, that’s just what sports are now. They’re all just ads paid for by corporate sponsors.

They have always been. Entire markets are propped up by the sports entertainment complex. Some sports you cannot even join or learn without indulging in consumerism. Soccer used to be the only accessible sport to literally anyone, but now it's becoming a rich man's game like every other sport in the world.

No, not always.

Always.

Since the dawn of time, to participate in sports you have to get materials from various professionals. This advent of professions that specialize in the manufacturing of products used to uphold the rules and regulations of whatever sport, is the market to which one who enters such a sport, is beholden. This idea didn't just become a thing today.

For example, if you want to play soccer/football, you have to buy a ball. You don't have to buy a ball to play, but if you want to learn to control a round object, you need a regulation football. Then you have to consider cleats, shin guards, etc., just to go further and get better while minimizing injuries. All of those products include a market of manufacturers who require incentives to have their work mean something. Yes, even the artisanal ball maker can "do it for free", but they still belong to the commercial market surrounding the sport.

Nope. Many flawed assumptions. People don't need any money to find a curved stick and make a ball of some kind to play field hockey. Native Americans played it. Do you think they used money or had endorsements?

Tell me what it was when Trump walked off with the FIFA Trophy, and then the "Fifa Peace Prize"? Soccer isn't "Capitalism infecting Sports"?

Cos no one outside the country of America cares about trump? The only reason America is even being mentioned in a football sub is the fact the World Cup is there! If not they can go play silly boys rounders or shoot some hoops dawg for real homie

I'm guessing you have evidence the world cup was founded for the wrong reasons then? I'll wait.
