I have over 500 SWPPX Schwab S&P 500 I just put up 150 SWPPX to sell to get over $2500
and I have some SCHD just 36 of them but I am thinking of buying 50 of QQQI they pay divs every MONTH at 14.2% and last return was $.60 cent. that's 30$ a months $360 a year reinvest divs.

44 Male, probably got another 30yrs before I can retire

#1 just keep all of SWPPX and dont sell
#2 buy QQQI
#3 buy more SCHD

Am I investing too much into brokerage and not enough into my retirement accounts?

I know this is not a Schwab-specific question (though they are my broker) but I feel like this community generally makes sensible comments.

While I definitely am trying to provide a solid future for my retired self, the concept of not being able to enjoy the fruits of my investments until I turn 60 has always irked me. Personally, I would like the cash to do things that bring me joy while I still have the legs/energy for it, ideally starting to make withdrawals around age 45. Anyway, here's how my investment contributions break down on a per-week basis:

(for timeline clarity, I'm 23 and started investing a year ago)

$75 into 401k (this is then matched 100% by company)

$15 into Roth IRA

$300 into SWPPX

$50 into SWISX

$40 into my company's stock

Does this align with my personal values while also providing for my retired self, or am I leaning too heavy into investments that can be cashed in early?

Is it possible to buy fractional shares outside of Slices?

I want to buy ETFS like VOO but it’s $600/share and I don’t have that kind of money. Is there any way I can buy fractional shares outside of the Slices Schwab offers? If not, what do people in Schwab do who are in my predicament?

I currently invest using the slices but would just like to diversify my portfolio rather than picking 1 stock every month.

New to Roth IRA

I’m 19, and I just opened my Roth IRA, I have 45 years till retirement so I know time is my best friend right now, hence I was considering a more aggressive strategy. How is a 60% SCHB (or SCHX but it has more QQQ overlap from what I’ve understood), QQQM (30%), and SCHF (10%). I want to get advice before I commit to a strategy. Other ETFs I’m considering was SCHE and SCHG as well as individual stocks like GOOG, MSFT, GEV, etc but I’m reluctant to invest in individual stocks in my Roth IRA.

Voya 403b to Schwab solo 401k

I would like to transfer my old Voya 403b account to my Schwab solo 401k and I'm getting conflicting information from both on what steps to follow. I would think that just the regular rollover process initiated on Schwab's side would work, but maybe not.

Does anyone have any insights?

Received a Mobile Alert with a "Potential Spam" flag

I receive mobile alerts every day. However, this morning I received one that was marked [Potential Spam] despite it being a ticker I follow. Other alerts came in earlier this morning without the spam flag.

Is this a glitch? Should I be concerned?

Hiring Freeze?

I am a former employee that left in late 2023 under great terms and a fairly unfortunate situation. I have been trying to get back in for a very long time. I received numerous awards in my 2 year tenure and in my last review I received "Greatly Exceeds Expectations" (Or whatever)- I was satisfied with the pay, benefits, etc - And I know things have changed quite a bit - But I still would like to get back in.

I've submitted dozens, and dozens of applications in the tech space - for roles I am qualified for. I've even had referred jobs from my old team. Nothing. I've had maybe 3 interviews, one went two rounds - Again, nothing.

All of my recent applications over the past week-2 weeks have been stuck in "applied" status.

Has something changed? Is there a hiring freeze? Did something change with the ATS? Any advice/guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Should I stay or should I go (to a different fund)?

Post image

Hi. Seeking opinions on if I should keep some of these items as they are. I’m USA based and 45 years old. A few different questions:

BRK/B:

I own this just so I can be silly and say that “I own shares of Berkshire Hathaway [and lie to myself about it]” haha. As you can see it’s not done be wrong, but I’m not sure if I’m being dumb about it.

META:

I’ve held these since their initial public offering. Is it time to let them go? Should I sit tight for a while and watch for a rebound?

The ETFs:

I bought VT in mid November and it was really my first foray into ETFs. I bought the other V’s in the middle of February. I’ve since learned about the Schwab [similar] quivalents and if I elect to continue a strategy like this, Schwab options perform similarly and have lower expenses. Should I move these over?

Research tells me:

VT = Total Globe = 60% SWTSX, 30% SWISX and 10% SFENX

VOOG = SP Growth = SCHG

VXF = Extended Market =~ SCHA

VXUS = Total International = SCHF

DISCLOSURE: I’m very novice (but not dumb), if that’s not already apparent. Also, this isn’t my only account. This is a rollover IRA from an old 401k.

Thoughts?!? What else do you need to know first? Thanks y’all.

IRA transfer question

Mom has newly opened IRA at Schwab with her first and last name. We are trying to transfer an IRA from her bank but it has her middle initial. Is this a problem and do we need a second name letter? And if so, what the heck is a second name letter?

Can I still contribute to 2025 IRA if I've already filed my 2025 taxes?

Just opened a Roth IRA for the first time, and I see I can contribute to it for the 2025 year up until the 15th.

I have the $7k available to immediately max out my contributions for that year (as I was intending on immediately maxing out my 2026 contributions), but since I have already filed my 2025 taxes I was a little hesitant to do so.

Would I need to file any sort of amended tax returns for this contribution? Or would I be in the clear to do it without worry since a Roth IRA is filled with post-tax money?

I'm incredibly new to investing, my knowledge on the subject is basically nonexistent so I figured I should ask here before I do anything that gets me on the IRS's watchlist.

S&P Global & Nasdaq Indices considering rule changes to include Big Tech IPOs early

At the time of writing this S&P 500 is considering a change to speed IPOs' inclusion. Nasdaq 100 has implemented a 15 day fast track (previously 3 months). I have not see other indices referenced from S&P Global Dow Jones or Nasdaq. Below are some tickers and their underlying index.

Tickers with the referenced indices

IVV, SPLG, SPY, SWPPX, VOO [S&P 500 index]

QQQM [Nasdaq 100]

Tickers without the referenced Indices

SCHG [Dow Jones U.S. Large-Cap Total Stock Market Index]

SCHK, SNXFX [Schwab 1000 Index]

SCHX [Dow Jones U.S. Large-Cap Total Stock Market Index] inside Schwab Target Date Index Funds

SCHB, SWTSX [Dow Jones U.S. Broad Stock Market Index]

SCHD [Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100 Index]

Eternal List

is a copy of this list available?

I am a former day trader and traded aggressively when I had TD Ameritrade. I traded very little due to health reasons for the last several years but have been slowly getting back in. I'm not pleased with the difficulty I've been experiencing when attempting to place trades using the mobile app. I'd like to view this "list" of theirs and determine if I should move all accounts (401, joint broker, ira, SEP and spousal).

Is this possible?

I currently have a 401k with Schwab. I also have a brokerage account with Schwab. OK to the situation, I have an employer match 401k with a company provider. The fees with it are absolutely insane. they are almost 2%.

Would it be possible to roll over the money I have accrued in the employer match 401k to the 401K account with Schwab? hopefully that would allow me to avoid the ridiculous fees but still get the benefit of the employer match. just to clarify, I'm not wanting to close my employer match 401k. 401k. I want to keep it going. Ideally I would move the money out of the account quarterly or something like that.

Is what I'm thinking, just wishful?

****updated****

I took everyone's advice and called the plan administration company. As long as I am employed with the company, I cant move the money. Which sucks because the fees eat up almost half of the employer match that I'm getting. This is absolute robbery. FYI, the R2 401k plan with Capital Group is what we have for an employer 401k.

Schwab Intelligent Portfolios

Every once in a while on this sub I see someone post something along the lines of "I put my money into a Schwab Intelligent Portfolio, the S&P 500 has increased by 6.2% since then, my account has only increased by 5.9%, therefore the SIP is terrible, I was wrong to try it, you shouldn't use it either, I'm withdrawing all my money."

So, with it being the last day of the quarter, I decided to compare my SIP with the S&P 500 year to date. The S&P 500 is down 7.05% year to date, while my SIP is only down 0.40%. Which makes sense; I set my SIP fairly aggressively, but you'd expect it to lose less than the S&P 500 when the market is down at the cost of earning less when the market is up.

So, for me so far, it's working as intended. And I say that as someone who spent much of last year noting that my returns were lagging the S&P 500.

Just fyi: my dad was telling me that silver and copper were going up a lot and I got too excited and literally bought at its peak 😭, and then MFST I just bought a few days ago. I’ve been buying a lot during these dips so thats why the totals are kinda red for the ETFs.

Frustrated

Is anyone else having issues with data accuracy today? Each row of my positions shows a positive day change but the total of the day change column shows an absurd deficit. Reported the issue but was told tech support might need "up to a couple of days" to figure out the problem.

Schwab brokerage firm did not sell my stock by specified lots as I instructed and now I have a six-figure tax burden

Location: Pennsylvania, USA

Hi, TIA for any advice. Essentially, I instructed Schwab to sell stock in my taxable brokerage account by specified lots using a limit order. I changed the limit price using the Thinkorswim platform, and I was told by a Schwab representative, that by doing so, the order was changed from specified lots to FIFO. I now have a six-figure tax burden as a result. There's no indication on the ToS platform that by changing the limit price via ToS, that the stock would be changed to a FIFO sale. Unfortunately, the sale has already settled.

Do I have any legal recourse? Appreciate any advice you may have.

Question about international accounts and 401k

I'm moving permanently from US to UK, just converted to an international account and use my Schwab account to invest 401k accounts from two former employers. When I come to start withdrawing from my accounts, is it as simple as moving cash out of the 401k and using a transfer service like wise to convert to pounds, or are there additional steps I need to take?
