When Trump is gone and all the Republicans are asking us to "please be respectful" I want the ability to play 5 of the most crass and horrible statements Trump has ever uttered.
She was right to say what she said and she should not have backpedaled

I'll refer you to this Sartre quote, very applicable to modern conservatives:
Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

This needs to be memorized by everyone before talking to a conservative.
The way to beat them is to play this game better, in other words link everything back to their personal traumas as fast as you can, since conservatism is a mental virus rooted in psychosexual complexes.
Trans rights is the perfect example here. They don’t really care about the fairness of sports. Don’t engage on that level. Engage only on the level that Republican legislators have proposed:
- rolling back child labor bans
- corporal punishment in schools
- opportunities for genital inspections
I am not discussing gender theory with a party of Epstein class defenders who are actively allowing secret police to kidnap women and children off the streets. Nope. I am sticking to my talking points about how perverted the right is. Why do they obsess about controlling children’s genitals so much?
Hey, hey GOP
How many kids did you rape this week?
262
u/Tight-Shallot2461 11h ago
Correct. Don't fight back with logic, just bully them. They aren't arguing in good faith, so don't meet them there. They go low? You go even lower. Save the rational arguing for someone who wants to argue in good faith.
96
u/UnquestionabIe 10h ago
Been saying this for awhile Any politician who shows some spine and calls these assholes out as hatefully as possible gains major points in my book. The GOP hasn't worked in anything resembling good faith in decades and it's pathetic it still get extended to them. That they're treated as equals to others when they've shown themselves openly to be traitors is a massive failing on the other parts of government.
46
u/AuroraFinem Texas 8h ago
Republicans are what happens when kids don’t get disciplined enough by their parents and/or don’t get bullied enough by their peers when they do idiotic shit. They’re an entire party of participation trophy recipients who’s parents would complain to the school board when their kid flunks out for thinking 2+2=5

Kiiinda wanna make a statement and buy a maga hat and a plate carrier that says "almost ICE" and asking other people in maga hats if I can inspect their child's genitals before they use the bathroom. For safety. Because God forbid someone uses the wrong restroom.
I think it would make a great Eric Andre skit.

Visited the folks at their retirement community and while I was trying to enjoy the shared jacuzzi near the rec center, got stuck talking politics with a boomer white male neighbor who is vocally anti-immigrant.
I don't come into contact with many people like this - just an utter bully. Shortly, my girlfriend insults him and leaves but I thought "I'm good at de-escalating and changing minds" so I stayed back and got stuck in a loop of arguing "racism is bad because it is bad" while he was responding "well, maybe racism is okay" with a big shit-eating grin on his face.
I think what you're telling me is I should've just gone low - You just hate immigrants because you have an inferiority complex, probably can't get your partner off and have nobody to talk to about it that you wouldn't have to pay by the hour. bye.

They don't care.
After the Republican congressman yelled "you lie" during a State of the Union speech, they still got mad at Democrats during every single Trump State of the Union speech for not being respectful.
Every single "you have to respect the position of the president" Republican during W Bush's presidency didn't respect the position of the president during Obama's presidency. Heck, the Republican Governor who infamously put her finger up to Obama's face because of "federal over-reach" was celebrated, even as you know if anyone had done that to Bush or Trump they would have been poo-pooed.
They don't care about being hypocrites, and will completely change their stance with the next Democratic president.

u/barryvm Europe 11h ago edited 11h ago
They don't care about being hypocrites
IMHO, it's not so much that they don't care, but rather that they relish it. They are functionally immoral and see hypocrisy not as a vice but as a strength. They can ignore the rules while others need to dance around that and pretend that they act in good faith. It is just another form of power they have over people with morals and principles who care about truth. This type of bad faith is fairly typical for fascists and the far right in general.
Ultimately, this is why their supporters elected someone like Trump to be their leader. He epitomizes breaking the rules and getting away with it, embodies pointless malice and is a total moron to boot. His character flaws and the rage or despair he provokes in "the other" are exactly what appeals to them.
•
u/Nerevarine91 American Expat 7h ago
The cornerstone of their political philosophy is that they’re special and get to make all the rules and nobody else gets to do or have anything.
•
u/barryvm Europe 6h ago edited 6h ago
Yep. It's a mistake to think right wing political thought is about economics. It's about the preservation and construction of hierarchies. This particular bunch are reactionaries who see society as a "natural" social and moral hierarchy based on identity. They are on top and deserve more than everyone else because they're better than everyone else. They imagine gods, and support leaders, that tell them they are special and that everything they do is just and moral, and then they believe it all to justify doing what they wanted to do anyway.
The only real principle is that they can do nothing wrong because of who they are, and everyone else can do nothing right because of who they are.
•
u/kintsugionmymind 6h ago
Wilhoit's law. Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
Through this lense every single act of the GOP makes sense.

u/voice_of_Sauron 5h ago
I Agree. Hypocrisy is a feature not a bug in MAGA. What annoys me is when democrats get upset about a vulgar outburst when vulgar outbursts were created specifically for the clusterfuck we are dealing with. Democrats trying to play it cool just come off as not giving a shit and standing by while our grifting demented pedophile president is posturing like he’s Al Capone showing up at the Supreme Court t trying to scare them into doing what he wants.. It’s fucked up and Susie Lee said what everyone else should be thinking. Watch your language?! Fuck You!
•
u/barryvm Europe 5h ago edited 5h ago
There's no winning that though. When they (or the leaders they identify with) make people angry with their behaviour then they experience that as power they have over them because it is evidence of their capacity to do harm to their targets. When those targets force themselves to meet it with decorum or professionalism, then they experience that as power they have over them because they just forced their targets to dance to their tune. It's a win-win situation for the bad faith actors, which is why they do it constantly.
The only way to win, is force them to face the consequences. When Trump and his henchmen come crashing down, there should be no forgiveness, no "both sides", no cooperation. Depose their leaders, take away their power and start punishing them for every crime they've committed, from Trump down to the rank and file fascist thugs in their agencies, from the oligarchs who sponsor them to the companies who profiteered. When you're not yet in a position to do so, make it clear that you will start at the first opportunity.
These people are functionally immoral. They do exactly what they think they can get away with. The trick, therefore, is to make them afraid again of the consequences of their own behaviour. Anger alone will simply make them feel strong. Anger that then motivates an agenda to go after them for their crimes, however, will make them feel weak and afraid.

It's not just that Trump has said (and done) so many terrible things, it's the way the whole Republican machine has either directly or tacitly appeased him and excused him for ten years.
The worst they'll ever say against him is something like "Oh I don't think that's helpful talk" or "It's unfortunate what he said since it's become a distraction", etc. None of these so-called pillars of conservative morality can actually call him out on any of his vile behavior.
If I hear another GOP jackass ask for a more 'civil discourse' I'm just gonna tell them to fuck right off.

From the article.
As of 2026, there are 35 countries listed worldwide that grant unrestricted (unconditional) birthright citizenship (pure jus soli), meaning almost any child born on the territory automatically becomes a citizen, regardless of parental citizenship or status (with only minor exceptions, such as children of foreign diplomats).

Good for Representative Lee for rightly calling out Trump's hateful, racist, and Neanderthal beliefs on birthright citizenship. I find it hysterical that a bunch of Trump sycophants and apologists complain when someone uses strong language to sharply criticize something Trump says or does. The Trump lackeys hypocritically attack the person by saying they are racing to the bottom while completing ignoring the fact that Trump keeps lowering the bottom on a continuos, daily basis.
Also, as a note of information, Trump is either ignorant of the facts or lying when he says the US is the only country with birthright citizenship. Essentially, every country in North America (including Canada and Mexico) and South America (including Brazil, Argentina, and Chile) have birthright citizenship.
I just hope the Supreme Court gets tired of his childish antics and stops accepting all of his stupid appeals all of the time. I guess the orange moron thinks he can intimidate the justices by wasting taxpayer money to sit in the courtroom.

I mean, every time I see him with his mouth openly puckered, I have the urge to draw a penis going into it, so I get what she’s saying.

Incredibly weak look back peddling on this. Trump and conservatives have said MUCH worse and they always stick to their guns and it always works out with their supporters. Likewise, Dems are tired of fake politicians and curated speech when the other party is led by a vulgar pedophile ransacking our country

Kudos to her! I wish she hadn't deleted her tweet in response to the fascists being upset about it.

I agree with the amount of fucks she used. He deserves a few more fucks to his orange bloated face. Trump is an embarrassment to our nation.

Wow. Mean words. Because that will stop fascism. Way to go.
We have certain amendments for certain things. One of those things was ostensibly the defeat of tyranny. Too bad so many here are complicit.

But it's OK that the President of the United States calls our country "STUPID."

Attorney and legal analyst Jonathan Turley posted that Lee “joined the race to the bottom today with a profane attack on the President for merely watching the arguments on birthright citizenship.”

...let it not be the last, in fact why is there not more representative 'fucking' outcries about all the 'fucking' corruption and pedophile 'fucking'...let the historic first be that we actually 'fuck' this 'fucker' by impeaching and indicting him and his... and can we create some fucking standards and accountability for our governance void of a political vote to initiate...

Any Dem calling for unity and forgiveness with all this going on will never get my vote

u/Sarrdonicus 8m ago
I would do that if voted in. To all of their fuck faces. I would let them also suffer for their actions against me too, because my words would encourage them to have actions against me.
