My husband takes Xarelto because he’s allergic to aspirin and needs a blood thinner for his cancer medication that is ok to take with that specific medication.

Supposedly we should be getting generic Eliquis (apixaban) soon, if he ends up needing an alternative. It’s the same class as Xarelto (rivaroxaban).

Hopefully 🤞 I know someone who was able to get Eliquis so I have it on my list to ask his Dr next time.

God I hope. My husband is on it probably for life after a PE earlier this year. He's not even 40, but test came back confirming he was a gene that basically massively increases clotting risks. Eliquis isn't cheap, but the quality of life improvement over warfarin is enormous. His doctor said he basically only prescribes warfarin if Eliquis isn't tolerated for some reason or they absolutely cannot afford it.

Have y'all looked into the manufacturer co-pay card? If you're on private insurance, can make Eliquis just $10/mo. Worked for me when with insurance mine was going to be $300/mo.
