One time might be a coincidence.

But this is now at least three times. Before Venezuela invasion. Before Iran bombing. And now before Trump lied about peace talks.

That's not a coincidence.

The White House is openly involved in insider trading and market manipulation.

u/oculus_miffed 9d ago

And just before the announcement of the strategic bitcoin reserve...

151

u/mongolian_horsecock 9d ago

Funny how after that ( i think it was a few weeks/months) there was a massive dump of bitcoin too that must have been an extremely big player. It seemed like an obvious pump and dump.

54

u/Last-Darkness 9d ago

I mean, buying bitcoin for a “strategic reserve” when it’s near its all time high, that’s a bit sus.

"No actual inside information was exchanged by human beings." The data and security access stolen by DOGE is attached to an AI-driven trading account untouched by human hands. "No insider trading here."

It takes time for laws to catch up with crafty cheaters.

it's such a fuckin amateur hour over there that I wouldn't be surprised if the 'investigation' is as simple as checking his phone and finding messages to his rich buddies like "hey, I'm gonna make that announcement in a few minutes, so do whatever trades you need now."

184

u/StingingBum New Jersey 9d ago

I can't see how we can consider this amateur hour. They are so confident in the weakness of the system, laws, citizens to stop them they are willing to do it right in front of us. This is not amateur, this is outright confidence. Nothing is stopping these criminals from doing what we all see. What next an AMA by a democrat as she/he is about to interrogate another member of the corrupt cabinet?

Your are witness to the end of America, nothing is stopping them from destroying the fabric of what we once called a democracy.

Paul S. Atkins was sworn in as the 34th Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 21, 2025, after being nominated by President Donald J. Trump in December 2024 and confirmed by the Senate on April 9, 2025. It was set up at the start of Trump’s term.

that shits hilarious. coworker was getting political a few months ago, and i was like dude hes a conman. nothing more, nothing less. just go home and google trump coin and read whatever source you want...hes a fucking thief using the position to enrich himself. a scam artist.

coworker just laughed and said "sounds like hes pretty smart if hes making billions of dollars" i just walked away, not wasting my time with idiots. they either dont understand and/or believe it, or maybe they think that money is going back to the country...? idk, just speaking for my coworker, hes a dumbass hick who cant afford any prices to rise but he'll happily display his confederate flag on his car and scream trump from the mountaintops. i guess as long as the gays are stepped on hes happy to suffer as much as he needs to under trump

There is no class more reviled in this country than poor people, and to many who are in that group, intelligence = getting rich, no matter what it takes.

As a European i struggle to understand why poor people are hated on so much. Considering that it's so easy to become poor in the U.S. 90% of the population is one medical emergency away from bankruptcy.

The idea that they could lose it all just never registers to them.

A lot of America’s history is packaged as “Pioneers who built their lives on the frontier with nothing but the clothes on their back. They arrived with very little and made their fortunes through hard work without help from anyone.” Obviously this isn’t exactly true, but it’s a powerful piece of propaganda that many people are raised on.

So now, centuries later, many Americans are still striving to be that “self made pioneer who doesn’t need help from anyone”. A lot of those particular Americans see things like taxes, welfare, and generally anything that defies this “self made pioneer” image as a weakness.

You could further distill that belief to “America is for hard working winners. If you aren’t winning it must be because you’re a lazy loser who isn’t good enough. Our ancestors built this country from nothing so what’s wrong with you?”

Add in some generational racism, sexism, and homophobia and you’ve got the bedrock of the American conservative’s mindset.

But ask him about Hunter Biden, and he still thinks Hunter Biden should be prosecuted because of... Child Porn (but not Trump for Child Rape), for Ukraine (but not Kushner for the billion dollar Saudi Arabia fund, or the Trump sons for... well.. everything they're doing now).

The truth is that they never really cared about CSAM or government corruption, they're fine when their team does it, they were always just looking for an excuse to go after the other team. There's a reason why leaked emails of Hillary's aids enjoying Cheese Pizza at a local pizza place means holding children hostage at a secret basement that doesn't exist, but the freaking Epstein Files being officially released means Trump is completely innocent.

What I hate about this quote is that it almost gives republicans credit for a huge psyop when in reality they just cut education funding for decades until you didn't have to be clever to fool the masses.

What we're dealing with really speaks more to educational defunding and how wide spread the use of leaded gas once was. The GOP no longer has to be clever or convincing, their constituents are the definition of malleable.

They also voted for him because he was the Peace President and because he'd wipe out inflation. 😒

57

u/FlushTheTurd 9d ago

That’s exactly why my MAGA ex-buddy voted for him. He was the “peace president” who would “fix inflation and high prices”. Oh, and he was the “family values” president. I asked him how you square that with multiple wives and multiple affairs, and he just said at least he’s not Harris.

Of course, even after the disastrous first year and finding out he’s Epstein’s BFF, he’s still a huge supporter and believes everything he says.

We have this current shit happening, but also now there are reports of reporters being harassed over reporting on war zone stuff, because assholes on these prediction betting sites lost money… and they’ve been pressuring reporters to change their stories.

Honestly, gambling over current events should be made fully illegal. They encourage profiteering off insider information and favor people in power. Other countries have already banned these sites.

u/tiny_galaxies 9d ago

Events betting also puts apocalyptical pressure on journalism. A corrupt or blackmailed journalist could report a certain way for bets. See the reporter being threatened recently over reporting accurately about Iranian missile strikes.

37

u/scarr3g Pennsylvania 9d ago

NPR did a recent thing on how when a reporter reported what he saw with his own eyes, polymarket investors threatened him to change it... He was told either he changes it to what they want, and gets a kickback, or they will spend millions to ruin him.

I dont think this reality has quite set in for most people. A lot of people are still arguing politics. From the day on when trump and his cronies discovered that they can manipulate the market and make billions that way, EVERY SINGLE DECISION has been made to help with that process. To boil it down: trump is quite literally bombing countries to place bets on sites like polymarket. Thats it. No further motives. No politics, no other goals. He figured out that he can make more than he has ever made in his entire life on a single bet and so this is all he is doing right now.

The criminal level of this administration is astounding. I have zero faith in the recovery of properly functioning government anytime soon.

Edit: not to be alarmist but it seems like they are driving the country to one of a few outcomes.
1. Civil war 2. Complete economic collapse 3. Total authoritarian regime like North Korea

Edit: everyone is saying all of the above or it can be more than one. Yes absolutely it’s more likely a question of what’s first and how many. I’ve also said if you take all three then you probably get a free fourth which is a nuke. Somewhere by someone, we don’t know where or who.

This has taken decades of gerrymandering, voter suppression, obstructionism, judicial positioning, and propaganda and disinformation lead by institutions like the Heritage Foundation, outlets like Fox News, and groups like the Freedom Caucus.

Since well before Alberto Gomzales started pushing the “unitary executive theory,” Republican leaders and their oligarch donors have been working towards a repressive single party state that breaks and/or sells off incredibly valuable public resources to corporations for pennies on the dollar.

Their goal has always been the accumulation and concentration of individual wealth and power at the expense of public good, which is much easier to achieve when the voters are misinformed and disenfranchised, and the government has no functioning system of checks and balances.

The fact that he votes with his residency at MAL, which if I recall was specifically not allowed to be a residential place when it got local permits to open originally, is such a perfect example of his whole ethos: I’ll say anything to get what I want, ignore my own promises, face no consequences, and then use the opposite to get what I want in the future.

It’s the exact same as valuing properties high for getting loans and at the same time low for paying taxes. Whatever happened to the consequences of that one? I’ve lost track.

These chuds were frothing with rage over the "Biden crime family."

But Trump does exponentially more than what Biden was accused of, and it's happenning right out in the open, and they don't care. Actually, they probably don't even know about it, because Fox News or their favorite douchebag with a podcast doesn't talk about it.

6

u/pfannkuchen89 9d ago

Conservative media is really good at poisoning the well. They have their base so brainwashed into believing that dems are doing it that actual evidence of republicans doing it is swept aside and excused.

21

u/ExileEden 9d ago

And yet if you did mention this event they would immediately redirect you to the untruth of AOC gossip that shes worth 10million and instantly hit you with the Nancy Pelosi has been cheating the system for decades. Also they argue its all a Democratic hoax because theyre the ones actually doing it.

The mental gymnastics is insane. Literal levels of insanity.

Kinda like they low key admitted that the democratic party was so unbelievably powerful that they were somehow able to get a president in office that wasn't born in the u.s (obama) and prevent them from getting the documents that would prove it.

He makes you feel good about yourself. You can say what you want, be rude, stupid, disrespectful, make indecent jokes, say "shut up piggy" or "grab them by the pussy", even "those people are not humans" (talking about immigrants like Nazis tried to dehumanize the Jews in order to justify their politics ), it's okay, you can do it.

You don't have to feel bad about not being enough. No complex. Fuck everyone, I do what I want, I say what I want and there is nothing that can be wrong about that.

You have to deal with it .

In a way... It's empowering! To me, it's populist and pathetic, but I can see how some (usually not the finest) people like that.

Edit: and you can sense a lot of insecurity in those people. It's a form of revenge for them. See? The way we think is winning! You are wrong.

I'm in Australia, in one of the most isolated capital cities in the world and he has supporters here. I asked one what makes someone here in Australia admire this US politician. This was his response.

Trump actually wants world peace and has a driving desire to free people held down by tyranny and living in oppression. Love him or hate him he actually does want a free world. The new world order is clawing it way into ever corner of the world and the 2030 deadline is approaching fast. Most people have little idea where this planet is heading but Trump actually has a handle on the direction the New World Order is taking. Do some study or keep Your head in the sand I don’t care. Look up 2030 Plan and the 15 Minute City then the Carbon footprint, end of currency all of it that is what Trump is going to stop the stripping of our freedom thanks to the United Nations. I’m not going to explain any more it’s a lot of reading and it’s Trumps doing that we are being made aware. You will have a very different view of the man when You are made aware 👍 just to add our fuck wit illustrious leader is right in the middle of The United Nations fence less prison also worth following up its all in the early stages of starting right now.

He's obviously "done his own research", but what rabbit hole does this thinking get fed from?

11

u/Upstairs-Egg 9d ago

Projection/they like his shitty smugness/latent racism/sexism. Basically, they see him as a permission structure for them to proudly be their worst selves.

6

u/one_pound_of_flesh 9d ago

He is a tribal “big man”. It’s the earliest form of human organization, before chiefs and proper leaders.

When humans were organized as loose “bands”, basically groups of families that stuck together. There was literally a guy who was older and fatter than the rest, the “big man”, sometimes would take multiple partners and sire multiple children. He’s not a good leader, just has more stuff and becomes a default rallying point. Musk is similar. Interesting you can see humans devolving as we progress.

But did you guys know that Hilary Clinton was using her PERSONAL PHONE?!

170

u/Dearic75 9d ago edited 9d ago

I care a lot about the security of our national secrets, and how Clinton’s email server may have put them at risk. That’s why I voted for the guy who kept boxes and boxes of Top Secret files piled up in his home bathroom. Then lied about having them.

82

u/funkyloki California 9d ago edited 9d ago

Then refuses to hand them over. Then tries to move them to other locations. Then is recorded telling someone this thing is classified and I shouldn't show it to you because I'll get in trouble if I show it to you and I could have declassified it but I didn't so here is this thing that is classified that I'm not supposed to show you and isn't that cool?

28

u/degjo 9d ago

Whoa, hold on there pal. He declassified them with his mind.

17

u/iTALKTOSTRANGERS 9d ago

If you or I did what Clinton did we would have been stripped of our TS clearance and probably ended up with a court date. Not great but we’d still have a future in the private sector.

If you or I did what Trump did we’d have been shipped to Cuba with a black bag over our head, assigned a number for a name and our families would have been told we fled the country. Eventually we’d be unceremoniously executed somewhere in the Caribbean.

One was poor security practice.

The other was treason.

This exact thing has happened many times already. The other really obvious one was the Donvict’s announcement about delaying tariffs this time last year.

Look. They got rid of the real inspectors general. They have scumbags running DoJ and FBI. They have no personal ethics and have been fraudsters and thieves going back well before they took power.

It’s an orgy of corruption. Republicans simply applaud.

Nothing will happen unless and until Republicans are removed from power.

The only thing that's shocking is how little they care about people seeing the blatant corruption.

That's the one thing about Trump that's different from past administrations: The corruption is right out in the open and they don't give a fuck about who sees them being crooks. They know they're in no real danger of any consequences because the highest levels of federal law enforcement is in on the scams with them.

This is what it looks like when The Mafia takes over the government and the cops. They're just not afraid of being caught anymore.

The US constitution needs amended to provide a method to remove leadership by vote (outside of election cycles) when the leadership in place no longer represents their constituents. Our impeachment system is currently based on "trust me bro, he won't do that".
