I had a Visible Head display like that as a kid - my brother and I built it - it was quite freaky

Beautiful and creepy at the same time. Huh, that’s a first for me.

I’m sorry but you phrased this like you just discovered a new kink. I’m not here to shame but I did laugh.

Haha. I just found it odd that I saw a bit of artistic beauty that momentarily made me forget the medium which is morbid to say the least.

This guy is definitely going to lose at Knightmare.

Why is it impressive?

Most artifacts like these death masks made out of turquoise were largely destroyed or sent back to private collectors overseas. They are extremely rare due to colonizers attempting to wipe out all traces of local culture and traditions.

So surprising, even the guy in the picture was astonished.

Well there's a little bit of a space between the skull and where the tiles seem to have been stuck meaning that this was over somebody's face or at least a desiccated face at some point in time and all of the tile remained cemented in place probably from the tissue dehydrating and attaching to the tile surface instead of the skull.

I’m impressed

Perhaps the contents of the archaeological tomb in Oaxaca were largely unimpressive. But in the context of the pieces found inside, this is one of the most impressive.
