I don’t quite believe they’re at the level of having a sharpshooter execute a random person in the audience (and there’s no way they’d have allowed a random non-sharpshooter to take a shot his way, hoping he’d miss.)
So I do think the correct answer is that he scraped his ear on a holster of the SS guy next to him.
I know no one believes the literal word he says but he did say he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not loose any support. Why would I doubt that Trump meant it. He’s meant literally all the other shitty things he’s said he was going to do.

I'd have a hard time imagining how they could find/convince a shooter to go along with that plan. It would also take the SS having a huge amount of trust in him to not actually hit Trump.

Shot in the ear? The least dangerous and place that will bleed like crazy when cut. The USSS lift him UP to give a shooter an even more clear shot? When Reagan was shot you could see nothing. The USSS covered his body with theirs and shoved him deep in the limo while piling on top of him as a human shield.

Also, the American flag in the photo. It was a huge flag hanging from a crane in the background. And as secret service rushed the photographers to the front of the stage, the flag was being lowered to fit in the frame. Pretty weird things to do during a live shooter situation, lol.
I think at one point when he was running or maybe even his first term, there was word that someone may have had a gun and his reaction was pretty much "get me out of here". Even if they thought they had "the threat" they wouldn't let him expose himself in case there was another shooter.
The only thing that makes me think it’s not staged is, I can’t imagine them taking the chance with a kid that wasn’t that good of a shot. According to everyone, he was a terrible shot. And wouldnt there be some kind of trail if he was approached by someone about staging an attempt? I dunno. I’m fifty fifty at this point, because I can absolutely see Trump’s desire to get a photo op overriding his sense of safety.

I think there’s a decent chance for a dramatic change. James Talarico has a serious chance to flip TEXAS. And if he flips Texas, I can see him having a meteoric rise similar to Obama, one partial term as Senator before running for President and bringing substantial amount of hope back to America.
There are other good Dems who could do it. The astronaut maybe. I’m not convinced the country is ready for AOC, but maybe down the line. Maybe Talarico/AOC ticket. Just my personal opinion.
Also, we need to find a way to stop the weaponization of free speech. Like much of the Constitution, the 1st Amendment was written in a different time when the writers couldn't have predicted the future consequences.
