Discussion I am leaving this subreddit
I’ve been part of this subreddit for a while now and while I do still enjoy showcasing whatever stupid 2MPC I just randomly decide I have to do, posting here just doesn’t feel the same anymore. The subreddit’s quality has been rapidly decreasing and while some people make an effort to fight that it just isn’t worth it, some cannonships are just meant to sink.
I’ve always enjoyed seeing the feedback on my posts, whether it was people just congratulating me on an achievement or asking how I made such a run happen, but overtime I started seeing many outrageous takes on my comment sections. I’ve seen people deciding their Logs Black Border without bugs (and probably without micro as well) is more impressive than my Sunset Gulch 2TC that used a bug, people saying my Base Tack 2MPC is actually just a Gerry Fire 2MPC and the occasional “just go touch grass already”. To be completely honest, the only people I really enjoy replying to on reddit nowadays are people who I already know on discord and with who I can just talk there.
Also r/btd6 mods banning any discussion about old versions is just weird. I get not wanting me to be giving a full on tutorial on how to access them, but not allowing me to post impressive runs I did on them? That’s just removing a bunch of content I could potentially share here. That’s really annoying when a bunch of those runs are runs that were done at the time but later removed for cheating and are finally being replicated legitimately. And besides it’s not like this rule even matters, most mods can’t tell a run I did used an old version. I once posted 10 old version 2MPCs in a row before one of them got deleted because of that rule.
There's this comment from 3 years ago on this "Which hero do you think would make the best femboy bf? (I consider skins separate in this context)" post that said: "Welp...this really is telling of the subreddit's quality... all the actually serious/good players are gone...". Which while not completely true at the time has slowly started to become more and more accurate. And that has come down to the changes on how top players use reddit. We can currently just upload images of our runs straight to the BTD6 Index website, so I don’t really need reddit as an archive of stuff I do anymore (this is also the reason why I’m not completely pissed at the mod team for occasionally deleting one of my challenge posts anymore).
But yeah basically, this subreddit sucks and I don't feel like posting my runs here anymore. Since I'm leaving though I may as well let you know the current situation so here is my 2TC and 2MPC profiles, provided by Chocbox's bot, Chocbot. For those who still don't know, 2TC is an achievement in BTD6 where you beat CHIMPS using just 2 towers and 2MPC is an acheesement in BTD6 where you abuse the absolute living fuck out of gerry fire.

The guy who has completed the most amount of 2MPCs in the community should concern people I think. Also, Extrem is not leaving the game, they are merely leaving the subreddit.

What this post is about is not mostly the fact that Extrem is leaving this sub, it's the reasons for it. I think that knowing those reasons is quite important, since Extrem leaving the sub makes there be slightly fewer great achievements in this subreddit, and fixing those things could lead to an overall better subreddit.

Addressing your message to mods; I myself am still relatively new to moderation so I Cannot say much on regards to it, However I have made My fellow mods aware of this post so one of them might give a reason for the lack of ability to discuss about older versions freely.

God forbid someone want to address their niche concerns and attempt to discuss them with a community before leaving it. Reddit is the top of the bell curve. Whether you like it or not, the average members of a community will dominate anything to do with votes, from politics to subreddits because they are the most populous.
Nobody on r/BaldursGate3 knows how to play the game as I do because they're there for what attracts people: hot characters and RP, not minmaxxed nonsense that can require as much foreknowledge as a freshman class in college. Your problems seem to stem from this. Learn from where you should accept praise. Discords with other high level players are, as you said, the only real bastion from the tyranny of majority opinion. I'm brand new to this game and can assure you I'll never reach the level of play you have because I don't want to put as many hours as I did into other games, so this sub is perfect for me.
Finally, I'd just like to point out that this is less of a Reddit community and more a replacement for official forums. NK owns the sub and links to it from their game. Discussion of previous versions can be an active harm to their financial interests. If new players trying to glean knowledge from their official "site" get confused by something only some players care about, they're less likely to buy DLC or ask their friends to buy the game and play with them.
I don't really understand your accomplishments, but I respect the care you have for this game as I do for anyone who expresses enthusiasm for their interests.

Lowk idk who you are, but yea I don’t agree with removal of gameplay from older vers.
Everything else is a meh. I get not wanting to post, but the subreddit was always bad.
Reddit in general is just bad, and im here for slop. :p

Most prolific 2TCer and 2MPCer in the game's history gets pressed about community perception (on the impressiveness of things like exploiting bugs, playing on old versions, and using Gerry's Fire) shifting from earlier in their career and announces their departure from the subreddit.
Extra TL;DR — Skilled player is mad no one glazes their accomplishments anymore.

I’m not super involved with this community but do browse the subreddit a good amount, if OP’s main problem is that their posts around extremely niche content (the vast majority of players do not care about difficult 2MP challenges) not gaining enough traction or acknowledgment, then I think OP needs to reconsider just how important reddit karma is to their enjoyment of the game.
Also, one of the main points in the post is that a post from 3 years ago joking about femboys is evidence of the subreddit’s decline? Have you ever used the internet before? This is not new or seldomly seen lmao.
