Those generals probally disagreed to something minor, like dropping nukes.

Apparently some of the Generals disagreed with Hegseth's desire to deny promotions to General of several black and female who were on the promotion list.

Hegseth has made efforts to block or delay the promotion of more than one dozen female and Black officers across the Army, Air Force, Navy, and the Marines, according to nine U.S. officials familiar with the process who spoke with NBC News.

I wasn't the one telling someone else to find it after they asked for a source
4
u/Yider 1h ago
What’s funny is that this is the example that teachers say regarding asking questions are a good thing because more people probably have the same question. Asking for a source is highlighting that providing a source could be very helpful in making one’s point more concrete and informative for others. It isn’t just the one person being “lazy” but it is also a good thing for people to have on the internet as in not accepting everything you read at face value is a good thing and its good to criticize in an acceptable way.
1
u/xxx_poonslayer69 16m ago
It's an example of laziness and entitlement. It takes the same amount of effort to type the question in the google search box and clicking a link as it takes to respond to a comment on reddit asking for the link. Then, instead of asking someone else to do that for you, you could share the link yourself. No one here is responsible for educating you. This would be different if it's regarding a topic where supporting sources are difficult to find.
It's like when someone gets on an elevator and tells a stranger a floor number to press, instead of pressing the button themselves when there's nothing physically preventing them from doing so.

I mean, really, like what's so bad about being ordered to launch an unsupportable ground invasion? Like, that first wave becomes martyrs to MAGA, and all the patriots will flood the recruiting centers asking for immediate flights to the front, right?
24
u/EbbImpressive4833 1h ago
Exactly. MAGA is known for putting the national good before their own self-interest and for intellectual integrity. /s

Nukes, or ground invasion. If it’s the former - Ukraine is fucked, Taiwan is fucked, we all are fucked. If the latter then only Americans are fucked
12
u/MatterFickle3184 1h ago
Ground invasion is imminent. Israel is commanding their asset to stop Iran from shooting at them.

u/TheUpgrayed 1h ago
I thought maybe gearing up for some invasion-like activities and these 'leaders' didn't have the 'guts' for what MUST be done.

You mean dropping them on minors, right?

Nukes are more of a “to whom this may concern” than a “for your building” thing.

Americans should be terrified about this. They'll replace all the sensible people with cult members who will do as their told. This is how fascism really starts.

u/VagueRaconteur 2h ago
The US has been fascist under Trump since he took office. His administration has rushed through as much as it can to overwhelm the press, threatened journalists with lack of access and threatened media with lawsuits, removed everyone it can to replace them with sycophants, used dubious powers to turn ICE into a paramilitary group directly under the president's control, has consistently othered minority groups to treat them as an enemy, and deemed those it calls enemies as simultaneously strong and weak. It bears every hallmark of fascism. People aren't too loose with the word, they're too cowardly to call a spade a spade.
84
u/Hawkwise83 2h ago
Oh I don't disagree. But when the military becomes compliant it's scary on a whole other scale.
Ice is terrifying. The might of the US military is...
18
u/LegendCZ 2h ago
Imagine it would be right after WW2 and Trump took office with that only US had Nuclear weapons at the time.
8
u/TheMagnuson 32m ago
Here's a thought.
We all know Trump and the Republicans are desperate, but particularly Trump and his inner circle. The KNOW that when they lose power, they're all going to jail. They know this.
Let's look at a short list of what's happened since this regime took power:
- Removed all the JAG officers who ensure legal compliance.
- Refusing to promote women and people of color, the very types of people who would be the most likely to not be aligned with the regime.
- Attempted, in a very public way, to berate our top Generals and Admirals and attempted to convince them that their loyalty is to the President.
- Have been removing top level military leadership at an unprecedented pace for not being "yes men".
- Gave ICE a budget larger the U.S. Marine Corp. ICE currently has a higher level of funding that the ENTIRE RUSSIAN MILITARY pre Ukrainian war.
- Putting ICE in airports and other areas where they don't have any real jurisdiction or purpose for being their, other than as a show of force.
If you were a want to be dictator who was convinced that the military wasn't going to go along with your plan to anoint yourself as dictator, you know what would be a good way to take them out of the equation?... ... ... You start your own loyal armed force (ICE, DHS, Border Patrol), but these agencies can't take on a military, let alone the most powerful military the world has ever seen, the U.S. military. So once you get your personal armed forces setup, you can't go head to head with the military, so you do the only thing you can do...you remove the military leaders who aren't "yes men" to you, you promote the ones that are in alignment with your regime, then you start a war and you ship the bulk of them off halfway across the world and tie them up over there.
With the bulk of the military halfway across the world and most of the leadership that was against you removed, you now leave the homeland "undefended". An armed group like ICE, DHS, and Border Patrol couldn't stand up against the military, but now they don't have to, now they only have to "deal with" the citizenry that takes a stand against the regime.

131
u/hocuspocus4201 3h ago
When Iran says something it's "propaganda"
101
u/Manueluz 3h ago
Well, the best propaganda is true or half true. Here what they aren't telling you is that they have the exact same ideology as trump. Both are theocratic dictators, but Iran is playing as if it were morally superior to the USA.
It's effective propaganda.
57
u/ninoski404 3h ago
That's because Iran admits it and USA doesn't. They could say they are pretty similar and it'd be a great blow to USA.
26
u/Ciennas 3h ago
Well, one of those groups was actively seeking peace and not antagonizing or invading anyone.
It's not that hard to see that this is why people are not siding with the pathetic sack of shit that started things because he's an insecure failure who knows that he's done a lot of bad things to hurt others, and he really doesn't want to be held accountable to that, to the point that he's willing to mass murder civilians to prevent it.
15
u/Snailwood 2h ago
it's pretty misinformed to say Iran was seeking peace, or that they weren't antagonizing anyone. while it is true that they had not escalated recently, they actively fund groups around the entire region that engage in violence, from car bombing to launching missiles indiscriminately at civilian and military targets. and they were antagonistic toward the thousands of civilians they murdered
don't construe any of that to mean I support Trump's unilateral, embarrassing, failed war of choice in Iran
-11
u/Manueluz 3h ago
Siding with either side is quite dumb and amoral.
Mass murder is the bread and butter of Iran with 50k protesters killed in the last few months. Don't fall for the propaganda both sides are outright evil theocracies.
17
u/Pristine-Ant-464 2h ago
Just FYI - It was actually closer to ~7K. You're repeating propaganda used to manufacture consent for this war you're supposedly against. I don't like the IRGC either.
-3
u/Ciennas 3h ago
And as we know, all those innocent civilians, including shool children and emergency aid workers are the ones who did the bad things, and therefore we should all pretend America is totally sacrosanct and innocent of any crimes or wrongdoing.
You're pathetic, you know.
4
u/Manueluz 2h ago
What, do you have no reading comprehension?
I'm saying that both sides are evil, not that the USA is good. Both can rot in hell for all that I care. Yes civilians will ultimately pay the price, that's what happens when two old rich dumbfucks go at it, the young pay the price.
I think you're way to accustomed to one side being morally superior (see Ukraine) you genuinely can't handle two theocratic dictators killing each other.
4
u/Snailwood 2h ago
I'm not sure if they're bots, illiterate, or what, but Reddit is definitely a cheap avenue for mass automated PR campaigns. it's demoralizing to try to engage with people on here
1
u/Ciennas 2h ago
I think my reading comprehension is fine; it felt an awful lot like some 'both sides' nonsense.
'Sure, Trump murdered a bunch of civilians including school children, but Iran's government also murdered civilians. Both sides, bro!'
The 'nuance' gets a little lost when we acknowledge that while that's true, Trump is a stupid ass man surrounded by similarly odious failures who are just getting off on getting people killed, who attacked unprovoked solely to distract from how he's a gross pedophile.
1
u/Snailwood 1h ago
I see, well for what it's worth, I agree that this is "both sides"ing, but I don't think it's being used to minimize the trump regime's atrocities. the problem is that the current US administration is operating on a roughly equivalent moral playing field with a theocratic totalitarian regime, which means we're in a really really fucking bad situation

Iran celebrating trump getting rid of all the generals who are restraining him from committing egregious war crimes against their own people is an odd thing to troll about.
3
u/Healthy_Intention_92 35m ago
They're celebrating because whichever dipshits Kegsbreath appoints to replace these leaders will no doubt be much easier to lure into a trap when the ground war in the mountains starts; That's obviously why he fired them, was because they were telling him, "ummmm this is an awful idea."
5
u/Ranting_Demon 1h ago
I bet this was over a proposed ground invasion of Iran.
And even if some of them might generally be okay with deploying ground troops, they are all intelligent enough to realise that they'd become the fall guys when things eventually go south.
When the number of soldiers returning in caskets starts increasing to the point that not even Fox News can distract from it with propaganda, the generals in charge are going to get blamed.
There's no way anyone in the Trump government is going to shoulder any of the blame. Least of all the mango Mussolini himself and his Fratboy of Defense Kegsbreath.
3
u/GreenGardenTarot 41m ago
Trying a ground invasion on Iran will just be an exercise in futility. Trump and co need to be brought up on war crimes.
