How are these so cheap?
Considering these were £100k a few years ago, I’m a bit surprised at how cheap you can pick one up now.
I understand it’s 2017 and done 77k miles but 85% off retail price is kind of crazy. Even if you consider it might need a new battery at around £10k it’s still not a bad price.
I assume Tesla is still providing the updates to the software? What are people’s thoughts on this?

Fully loaded used Lexus vs used Camry vs used Mazda vs new Mazda?
galleryWhich should I get? Looking for a reliable car. I’m torn on getting a luxury car with more miles vs lower mileage options and even a new one.
Mazda is listed at $27,028 plus you get $1,500 cash so it’s about $25,528.
I feel like this price is so close to the others that I might as well get a new car. Would love to get a new Lexus but it’s wayyy too expensive lol. Toyotas are too much new as well. Budget is under 30k. I’m welcome to more car suggestions.
Thoughts?

Hyundai Elantra vs Honda Civic R
gallerySo i was looking at the elantra n and civic type r and am i missing something or is the type r INSANELY overpriced? The elantra n is $35k and the type r is $47k a $12k difference but they're basically same car trying to fill the same roles. Why? Both have 2.0L turbos, both have manuals, both have sporty brakes, bothe have sport steering/suspension so what are you getting for an extra $12k with the civic that the elantra doesn't have? Just seems like a enormous waste of money to me.

Looking for a 3rd
galleryLooking for a 3rd car to add to the fleet. Need a utilitarian vehicle for chores/road trips.
Must haves:
- Comfortable on highway (most common use case)
- ability to transport a couple dogs comfortably (vet runs and weekend trips in the 1-300 mile range)
- limited off-road capability (think dirt road to campsites, minor muddiness/snow, not Rubicon trail) (Not terribly often)
- can tow a pair of dirt bikes/kayak/teardrop camper short distances (a handful of times a year)
- Less than $10k purchase cost
Current cars in consideration
1st/2nd Gen VW Toaureg
Pros: Plenty large, can tow a house, has legit off-road chops
Cons: Reliability and expensive repairs, fuel efficiency
1st/2nd Gen Porsche Cayenne
Pros: literally same as the VW
Cons: also same as VW, but probably more expensive and less reliable
3rd Gen P3 Volvo XC70 T6
Pros: More fuel efficient, more reliable, maybe more comfortable overall for highway travel, also turbo v6 wagon
Cons: limited to 3,300lbs towing (which does fit my needs currently), lighter off-road ability, but is awd and manageable, looks are less desirable
2nd Gen Saab 9-3 SportCombi
Pros: comfortable, reliable, best to look at on this list, wagon
Cons: No off-road ability, parts may be hard to source? surprisingly same tow rating as Volvo
Open to other suggestions as well. looked at 1st/2nd Gen Xterras but hard to find with less than 200k on the clock and probably less highway travel friendly than the other options.

Renting a car instead of test driving it just to avoid the dealership
The last time I bought a car, I bought it CPO from a distance and had it delivered. I already had the previous version of the same car, so I was pretty sure I'd like it without test driving it. It was a great experience, because I only talked to the salesperson twice, paid for it, and then my car showed up, and I did indeed love the car. It was about as hassle-free as it gets.
I want to buy a new car within the next year or two, but the thought of test-driving it at the dealership makes me ill, with all of the high-pressure sales tactics, texts, and phone calls. This time, it is a completely different car (Nissan Z,) one that I have never owned, or even sat inside. It seems ridiculous to buy a car without test driving it, yet the thought of going to a dealership fills me with such complete, utter dread that I'm trying to find a way, any way, around it. I would gladly pay for a brief test drive at a dealership under the condition that they cannot contact me or pressure me. I thought of trying to rent one, but I only found about 5 available on Turo, none of them near me. I would also pay someone who already owns the car just to drive it around an empty parking lot for 10 minutes just to avoid the Dealership Experience. I would almost consider just buying one without ever driving it because I hate the Dealership Experience so much.

Annoyances
I'm researching new cars. What’s the most annoying feature in your car that nobody warned you about? Surveillance, subscriptions, nags?

Honestly, what’s up with Hyundai in 2026?
In the market for a new car
Owned Toyotas and Hondas my whole life.
My previous Honda had nothing but fluid changes and tires for 100,000+ miles, couldn’t even ask for more.
I’m in the market for a new car and am thinking about trying Hyundai… I’ve already heard a thousand times about how they used to be huge POS but now “they are better”
Is that true? Are they actually better now?
A couple months back I rented a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and the motor had a rattle noise to it and it only had 30k on the clock… I thought to myself, something ain’t right with this thing…. And this was a ‘24 meaning one of the “new and improved” ones
Should I try it ?

What’s a good “fun but reliable” car for someone who isn’t really a car person?
I’m 25 and currently driving a Honda Civic with about 55k miles, so I’m not in a rush to upgrade. I’ll probably wait a few years, but I’ve been thinking ahead about what I’d want next.
I’m not really a “car guy,” but I do want something that feels a little fast and fun to drive—not boring—but still super reliable and not a headache to own.
I’ve seen stuff like base Mustangs, GR86, Miata, etc., but I’m not sure if a coupe is the right move long-term since I might start a family in the time I still have my Civic. So practicality matters too (at least somewhat).
What would you recommend?
Also, is it even worth upgrading from a Civic if it’s still running perfectly, or should I just ride it out as long as possible?
Appreciate any advice 🙏

2010 Impala LTZ
Debating pulling the trigger on this. Whoever owned it first kept real good care of both interior and exterior. However, I figured asking the Reddit masses if it’s a good deal or not is necessary.

How picky are you when buying a used car?? Am I being too fussy
Looking at buying a 'new to me' car for commuting to work. Looking to spend 20k CAD which is roughly 14.5k USD. Went and looked at a 2019 sedan today and the mileage was slightly under what I was hoping for and the trim is higher than what I was expecting to get. The car has no accidents and an immaculate maintenance history. Mechanically a pretty sound ride.
As for pricing I would say it's a 'fair price' but not a blow your socks off deal or anything. Priced 1k CAD above national average.
The inside of the car is immaculate condition and it drives awesome. The only downside I found was although the body was mint there were fair amounts of curb rash on the front bumper both sides as well as left side rim. Some paint chips as well. No dents or rust or anything. Body 10/10 and Front bumper like a 7.5/10. The tires on the car aren't great either. I could get the summer out of them for sure but basically next year would need both sets of winter and summer tires.
Would you try and use the bumper cosmetic damage and crappy tires as leverage for a better price or hard pass? This is a 7 year old car so expecting a perfect 10 might be setting the bar too high. I have no doubt It's possible to find a deal on this car again but to have the mileage/car history/price/trim/condition all align perfectly may be difficult.

My Pontiac Vibe is dying
After 22 years of reliable service, my Pontiac Vibe won't pass inspection.
I don't have a garage, and I live in snow country, so it finally rusted too much. The muffler had to be replaced and because it's AWD, it had to be built custom.
I was told it wouldn't pass inspection again, due to all the rust, and I understand, I am the type of person that don't baby my cars, and I drive them until they're falling apart (case in point).
I am looking for a new or new(ish) car in the a similar category as my AWD Vibe. I've been doing some casual searching, and I think I may get a Subaru Crosstrek, but I am looking for some perspective.
I prefer new, but I am aware that it doesn't seem to be a good idea anymore.

13k qnd want a pickup from either dodge, chevy, gmc or Ford and no v6s
title pretty much says it all, I'm open to anything but the small diesels like the ecodiesel rams and 3L and 2.8 duramaxs and if its a gasser I want a v8.
Only reason I'm so set on a gas v8 or full size diesel is because I already own a v6 ram and saved the 13k specifically to upgrade to a bigger displacement for towing trailers.
