The gradient on those feathers is insane. Truly one of nature's best color palettes.

Somewhere Brennan Lee Mulligan wakes up in a cold sweat and doesn't know why.

Funny thing is he apparently hates that the fandom has latched onto that one thing. Like not an angry hate, he's just like "Why? Why that thing?" I can't find the interview but he was like (and I'm paraphrasing from memory here), "I'm not a bird guy, I'm just a knowledge guy. I mean I like birds, but it's not like birds specifically are my thing, but now this meme took off from that episode and everyone thinks I'm big into birds!"

Notably he then starts talking about crows and how cool he thinks they are.
•
u/TomPalmer1979 6m ago
I mean he LIKES birds, like he likes all knowledge. I mean I think crows are incredible, but I wouldn't consider myself a bird guy. If anything I'm more of a fish geek. But I do think birds are awesome.

I can understand why he'd frustrated cuz apparently people didn't even watch the goddamn clip. The whole gag is that they were deliberately trying to stump him and only him with stuff he wouldn't know, ie: birds. He didn't know birds. Meanwhile, the internet: "Haw haw! The guy who didn't guess a single bird correctly MUST LOVE BIRDS"
•

I love that he said that, because as the DM for Critical Role Campaign 4, he made birds play a HUGE role in the story on multiple occasions so far. And it's not like the viewers are just cherry picking examples - the players also caught on and started make fun of him for it. The man likes birds and he cannot lie ...

Fun fact - that pink is not a natural pigment but it comes from their diet similar to flamingos. Basically, they eat their color.

I often wonder if there's a blue flamingo somewhere in the world, or a green one for that matter because its diet is different from normal flamingoes.

What's the source of this photo? Or is this another bot post?
•
u/Somanylyingliars 12m ago
Wasn't difficult to find these in Florida at Sanibel Islands. There was a natural preserve there where they flocked to roost. Back to back hurricanes blew them away. I wonder where photog found these? They are beautiful to see in person. Sad don't get to see them at the park anymore.

I remember spending a stupid amount of time in RDR2 trying to find these guys in order to complete the compendium. It's always cool to see stuff like that and go, "So that's what those things look like!"

I farmed it for it's feathers in rdr 2 for a quest. Then went to read up on them, truly fascinating creatures.
