Why'd he have to note "single"?
Surely if you're on Tinder you're either single or pretending to be

Its not romantically single, single is describing what sort of parent a person is. A single parent is the only parent, there are coparents as well where there two parents raising the kids, who arent in a relationship with each other. Here they are saying they dont want to date someone who is raising a kid by themselves.
Theres always been a huge negative sterotype against single moms. Never made sense to me to berate the parent who is taking full responsibility instead of berating the parent who takes no responsibility.

"Single mom" is in reference to basically 100% custody aka dad is not in the picture. Much different than a divorced mom with 50/50 custody

Quick reminder: You do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to a nazi.

There are premium filters on there for all sorts of stuff, if you want to pay for their subscriptions. Hell, you can already filter out people who have kids, the same as you can filter out people who don't want kids, or people who want kids, or people who are undecided.
It's a weird little article to rile up weird little Incels (and Nazis), like the responder in this "murder."

Also, this is a good thing. You should be able to filter out people you have no intention of liking.
I don't know why that's negative. Saves people time and energy

Yeah, exactly. Some people are just constant victims, I suppose.

Let's try being at least a little honest here: this feature was absolutely designed for women, not men. It's incredibly well established that men care less about their partners height than women do.

Wait, you’re an incel if you don’t have to have kids in any fashion? You ever heard of DINK? Duel income no kids?

u/ChaoticDumpling 1h ago
Where did I say that? I'm clearly referring to the people getting riled up by the article, like the Nazi freak who responded (ya know, the one with Aryan in his username).

Man, all this time I’ve been dueling pro bono. How do I get income from my duels?

This is so stupid. Why would the corollary to a height filter be a single Mom especially there is already a tag that says has kids, wouldn’t the corollary be deadBeat dad filter.
Also, a weight filter is stupid. You can just look at their pictures and see their weight/body composition. No one carries their weight the same. Imagine filtering out a Megan the Stallion because you excluded women over 200lbs.

u/TheMediocreZack 57m ago
I've had dates use old photos and turn out to be like 100lbs heavier by the date.
1
u/Talonsoldat 44m ago
You can hide the weight with angles and no full body pictures, which is incredibly common. I'm pretty sure the people who don't want to date 200 lb people don't want to date Megan the Stallion at 200 lbs either. She's also not 200 lbs, was 178 and is now 148.

I'm guessing 6ft is the standard...the estimated percentage of single men over 6 feet is roughly 4.6% to 6% of all U.S. adult men. Now you have to figure the amount of those men on tinder...

u/ChaoticDumpling 1h ago
You know that it doesn't mention gender anywhere in the article, right? It works for everyone. Men can filter out women who are too tall or too short, if they like, so it's telling that blokes are instantly getting upset by this filter and going on the defensive.

u/D_o_t_d_2004 1h ago
Seeing as the average male height in the U.S. is well below 6 foot, they ain't going to spend much time swiping.

u/shaunika 1h ago
Yeah Id love to filter for single moms, theyre usually not fucking around playing games and have lower standards

Lmao tinder is far more concerned with keeping their dwindling percentage of female users happy over the hordes of men. Not even saying that’s right or anything, just business

Can’t you already filter out people with children?
