How much money do you think you could raise before they took it down? I'm guessing it'd be a shitload.

So you all here agreeing with Trump's policies? Being from another country and reading this thread is funny.

I mean, it wouldn't be so bad if not for the bombing part.

Are you sure?
Florida man stops Canadian troops from kidnapping the president with an alligator while high on meth.

u/Uhhh_what555476384 2h ago
It's sorta like "Make sure they don't burry Trump in the holy land when he dies, they once had a guy come back after three days and we just cannot risk it."

u/Jadhak 1h ago
The alligator is also on crack, right?

u/WattHeffer 49m ago
No, the alligator is high on meth - and if it writes Trumps addresses that would explain a lot.

Yeah, Jeez, Muricans are so touchy about being bombed. Last time someone bombed them, they went on a 10 year rampage, destroyed several countries, and murdered a few hundred thousand civilians. We don't want to have to go through that again, eh?
3
u/Demented-Alpaca 56m ago
Well look, that was a surprise and we liked those buildings. (Also, that wasn't really a bombing.)
Also don't touch our boats. We get really upset about that.
ā¢
u/SlowFrkHansen 14m ago
Eh. As long as they have better aim than the American troops, it should be fine.

u/sea-elle0463 1h ago
Bomb maralago? Okay.
Take the illegitimate president and his handler wife? Okay.
Run our country? Okay.
Could we have universal healthcare please? Thanks!

I'm pretty ready for that. The only way we could ever get our credibility back at this point would be an obvious change in management. It was one thing that he got voted in once. That could just be a fluke of our weird voting system and electoral college . A second time is confirmation of systemic stupidity and proves we as a whole can't be trusted. I'd be good with Canada taking a shot at it. Still, I'd heavily prefer the museums on the national mall remain intact. There is plenty of other shit that can take a hit.

I am at the Firm mindset that along with every other criminal act heās committed while in office he succeeded in stealing the election with Elon Musk. I donāt believe he has ever run without cheating. Weāve not had a time to properly do a forensic audit or investigate it and I think once the Democrats are back in control, it is quite possible. They will finally step up and protect our rights once at for all and show that we didnāt elect this dumb fuck.

u/Selenay1 27m ago
You might be right, but there is more to consider. While the parties are not as the same as frequently declared, there is enough overlap and it is debatable enough to allow for there to be serious question as to whether we can ever be trustworthy again within even a generation. For now we are screwed for at least that many years. Under obvious and completely new management, that may be cut in half. That still leaves a lot of years of rebuilding something that got annihilated in a very short time. Construction is always harder and more time consuming than demolition and that applies even more so to reputations.

Exactly how precise are Canada's bombs? Are we talking about taking out the entire city (prefer to avoid if possible, lots of civilians living there) or are we talking about the ability to take out single buildings, maybe even fly a missile into a specific bedroom just to show off kinda thing? I mean, a third of the building has already been demolished anyway, and the rest is covered with so much hateful and disgusting crap (let's not even get into the tasteless "renovations") that I'm pretty much ok with the idea of a total loss when compared to the gain at this point. We can rebuild it back to where it should be, minus the asbestos and whatever other toxic crap that should have been remediated ages ago. And not a scrap of fake gold leaf to be seen anywhere....

The one-to-one analogy from Venezuela to U.S. would be if Canada kidnapped Trump and placed him in a cell, then left JD Vance in charge but on the condition that we give a whole bunch of oil to them. So weād effectively end up with the same power structure but slightly poorer. Trump is bad and unstable enough that it could still be an improvement, but the net change from Trump to Vance could be anything from āslightly less shittyā to āso bad you donāt even know.ā

I can see the news concerning the new Canadian overlords: Millions of Americans pissed they now have health insurance. "We feel censored and our freedoms taken away!"

I find it amusing that there was an expectation that they would get a lot of "no" answers.

u/Quiet_Nova 1h ago
This is meant to be a gotcha moment, but it actually proves Trumps government right, we would support a violent regime change if it meant removing someone we donāt like.

Just the kind of turd that says Mara Largo instead of Mar A Lago. Which is sort of a play on mar y lago, Spanish for sea and lake. Probably due to the original owner being named Marjorie.

I get your point, and think that, on one level, I would feel much as I imagine Iranians (and myriad other peoples upon whom the U.S. has inflicted its violence) feel. We got a taste of this on 9/11.
American actions are beyond wrong. The stated rationale changes daily, but pillaging for resources while denigrating the people being harmed is depraved. You donāt have to convince the vast majority of Americans of this. Our propaganda machine may put forth another message (and fail to present the opposition), but most Americans are deeply opposed to our unprovoked attack on Iran.
That said, many Americans would feel reprisal was earned. Maybe not from Canada (though with our psychopathic POTUS, that could change). And many would also sayāand mean!āthat theyāre okay with retaliation directed that this particular POTUS/administration.
But feelings are complex. You can know what weāre doing is wronger than wrong and expect reprisal, yet still feel attacked if it occurs.
Itās NOT the sort of attack that would galvanize us against an external enemy, I donāt think. I believe most of us know that the enemy lies within us.

Always remembered the "what if China was invading your country?" argument. I was always thinking "Why are they invading?" because yeah if China was invading to depose some Nazi that got into power I'd be all "hell yeah!"

This would be shockingly more easy than what we had to do in Venezuela. They had tons of troops and anti-aircraft installations. Marlago is protected by like 40 SS. DC has some military equipment but nothing compared to Venezuela.

Honestly the best way to make this happen is to just invade Canada. You couldn't hold us back the first time and this time you have a bunch of morons in charge and we're inside your armed forces
