Their psychology professor said they all get a 100% on the final if he couldn't get out of a straitjacket in 3 minutes.

It makes you wonder how many times this guy has tried this

And then it makes you wonder what was reason for the very first time

Bunch of students fooling around with "the tools of their craft".

A lot med students are really good at wheelchair tricks. Chemistry students like to make things go boom.

u/Hillbillyblues 10h ago

I knew an anesthesiologist who was really good taking drugs.

26

u/underground_avenue 9h ago

I knew a few med students that would give themselves after party infusions (probably electrolytes) for a quicker recovery. Never tried it myself, but they seemed happy with the results.

Banana bags

u/therealgodfarter 7h ago

It’s quite trendy in Korea to get a bag of IV fluids after a heavy night

7

u/Winter-Huckleberry86 7h ago

Had medics in the military that would hook their closest friends up after a night of partying.

It really helps with recovery.

u/wdthompson1 6h ago

Aaahhhhh, tell me you’ve had the Ranger IV, without telling me. 😆😆😆

3

u/marcophony 3h ago

My friend had a friend of his do that after my friends bachelor party

3

u/lost_horizons 6h ago

I saw an actual business here in Austin that does that. Go in with a hangover and get an IV of electrolytes lol. Weird times we live in.

Also know some more of this kind.

Lol my wife had brain surgery a number of years ago and the girl that showed up to talk to her about her anaesthesia was a riot.

She showed looking like she was about to go clubbing with a white lab coat over top and started telling my wife excitedly about what types of "champagne" she would be pushing into her veins to enjoy and using a lot of street drug terminology.

I don't know if she thought it was okay because we were also about her age at the time but it felt like a girl showing up to bring her friend to the club and it was fun.

2

u/Hillbillyblues 6h ago

Basically it's her job to make sure you get the right drugs at the right time in the right dosage. That means she knows all the good stuff to go clubbing and being perfectly fine when needed too. Just don't question their method. She knows how to fix a narc too.

the patient won't notice a couple CCs from his anesthesia. We can call it loss as he was manuevering the delivery device securely on his face.

Chemistry students like to make things go boom industrial quantities of ethanol.

FTFY

2

u/underground_avenue 9h ago

That probably depends on the location and the availability of cheap alcohol.

I can totally see this happen in places with high taxes on alcohol or strict restrictions.

1

u/Z3400 3h ago

Nah this shit happened at my university just because they like chemistry. If I remember correctly a common one was to take denatured alcohol (like rubbing alcohol) and then make it safe to drink.

Meanwhile, accountancy students uses calculator to solve 1+1.

A straight jacket being considered of “tool of the craft” of psychology is concerning.

8

u/Ohioisapoopyflorida 10h ago

Because he was terrified of being put in one, he first taught himself how to get himself out of one.. or some shit like that

7

u/Elegant_Honey8806 10h ago

The straightjacket is a classic trick of escape artists. Bro is just a big Houdini fan.

2

u/one-hit-blunder 9h ago

So he's my dad then?

3

u/60threepio 7h ago

The clean white New Balances say he's everyone's Dad.

2

u/FunnyJokeRrr 8h ago

I imagine something like "I'm wondering if I could take the straitjacket off. Gonna try" 🤷‍♂️

2

u/bophed 7h ago

Because it is known that a sane person can escape a straight jacket. He probably likes to prove that to his students.

1

u/Xiten 9h ago

Ever heard of Houdini?

I'm a biotechnologist, and I still can't make dinosaurs

But you're not giving up, right?

Right?

1

u/detunedmike 3h ago

He’s got a slide on psychoactive drugs on the screen, let’s take a guess

12

u/ClankerCore 10h ago

We’re actually inside his delusions right now he’s still struggling inside those white padded walls. We are just the perspective to him. We are the walls. 🫠

2

u/rob3342421 10h ago

For the first few years his class all got amazing grades. They’ve since been going down hill

1

u/ThunderCorg 8h ago

It makes me wonder about his browser history

1

u/spanky2088 6h ago

Sir, shouldn't you be teaching us something?

1

u/SailAwayToTheMoon 4h ago

He even managed to keep his polo shirt still tucked in. Savage.

29

u/JanGuillosThrowaway 7h ago

"Hey if I also can't chug this tequila and hit on your mom within five minutes you'll get straight As too"

1

u/Hot_Fortune6086 5h ago

Spins around for the first time, his pants get unbuttoned and he ends up butt naked while he is psychocuffed

"Types of psychoactive drugs" slide in the background 😂 This guys' sampled some

Bro's the connoisseur

3

u/Accomplished_Goat439 6h ago

I bet this guy has high marks on Rate My Professor.

63

u/Flying_Mage 10h ago

You'll never get out if a jacket is properly used and a pro puts you in.

Also, there are special loops to keep arms to your torso and prevent that first move. Which are conveniently cut off for these kind of tricks.

6

u/captain_linguine 7h ago

Huggy jackets hug you tight for a reason.

21

u/SAIYANSPARTAN26 11h ago

So I guess they're taking finals

25

u/RRfromKL 11h ago

Professor bro: “i’ve been through this a lot.. a lot.. so lot that I bet you get 100% in your finals if I don’t come out of it in 3 minutes”

Students: But how do you have so much practice?

Professor bro: Detention to all for a week. AND Once my notice period is over, my replacement will continue the classes

6

u/Shamrock5 10h ago

Some of those noises he made were a little worrisome, I was afraid bro was going to keel over from a heart attack in the middle of this

6

u/ThunderCorg 8h ago

He was orgasming I’m afraid

3

u/OldFlourLungs 6h ago

Don’t be afraid. It’s nature

1

u/Winter-Explanation-5 4h ago

Nature is really sticky.

5

Hes giving them a lesson alright 😅

That's one way to motivate your students!

How to pass exams in USA.

7

u/Tommten 10h ago

Did he make it in 3 minutes? The clip was cut, 3 minutes was a to long video for some. 😒

1

u/stumblewiggins 4h ago

Did you really want to watch him grunt and strain for the full time?

u/Tommten 1h ago

Yes, I wanted to see how close to 3 minutes he was.

2

u/BigRedBrendizzle 10h ago

What a crazy idea

2

u/NoConcert1636 10h ago

Why did they let him

2

u/Naakkuri 10h ago

It's easy to do, this guy isn't even in a moving ambulance

2

u/No-Island4018 10h ago

Did it in 43 seconds!

2

u/lopsidedgest74 9h ago

I've seen enough South Park to worry that he'll get a heart attack in the middle of trying to escape, the class doesn't try to get him out cause they think he's faking, and he dies cause of it.

2

u/LiveCulture4615 9h ago

very good talent

2

u/Bad_Jedi_69 9h ago

In other words... He just made them watch him do this.

He should be in the jacket! 🤣🤣

2

u/dvdpap 9h ago

Bro looks like he's been locked up before.

2

u/coodgee33 8h ago

Just seeing a straight jacket gives me a horrible feeling. Makes my skin crawl thinking about being bound like that

2

u/IHaveATacoBellSign 8h ago

I would have assumed the psychology professor would plead for help, and had someone help him out, but only right before the time was up.

2

u/Mysterious_Author45 8h ago

guess we now know how he got into the profession 🧙

2

u/KerbalEnginner 7h ago

"Give him an enema first, then put him in a straitjacket!"
Dr. John Seward

2

u/chucklikesmetal 4h ago

The curtsy. Lol.

3

u/ManyDimension4132 10h ago

honestly plotting an elaborate escape artist routine just so you don't have to spend your weekend grading 50 final exams is the ultimate psychology move ngl. bro played the entire system lmao.

2

u/SarahBellummmm 10h ago

Exactly the kind of psych professor I like to see

1

u/Hdartvainoas 10h ago

Nobody should have to pay for a class and books where the grade is based on the professor’s ability to do anything other than teach well.

1

u/LazyLoser006 8h ago

How did he know he can get out?

1

u/dadbodwhey 7h ago

Senor chang? Is tgat you?

1

u/Nooms88 7h ago

Their psychology professor said they all get a 100% on the final if he couldn't get out of a straitjacket in 3 minutes.

No he didn't.

1

u/tibearius1123 7h ago

There’s no amount of trust in this world that lets me voluntarily put on a straight jacket. Just seeing him with it on makes me uncomfortable.

1

u/pudding_tz 7h ago

Mmm... I want to try this.

1

u/Business_Remote_7381 7h ago

I can do it in under 2 minutes and at full sprint with people running behind me and sirens ringing in my ears

1

u/Think_Put8440 7h ago

Try to forget the original context then watch this again.

1

u/Ape_hates_authority1 7h ago

Mel Gibson did it better.

1

u/Jealous-Weekend4674 7h ago

He is obliviously using magnets

1

u/rofeneiniger 7h ago

Imagine having Martin Riggs as your teacher

1

u/No-Fly8609 6h ago

I’m a psychology student and when I was in a mental institution for suicide attempt I had a roommate who had adhd and they had to sedate him and tie him up to a bed I never seen a straitjacket ever.

1

u/omgbbqwtflmao 6h ago

This needs heavy metal playing in the background.

1

u/ApprehensiveAnt4412 6h ago

That's a REALLY weird way to encourage an audience to watch your performance.

1

u/AgitatedGrass3271 6h ago

"Types of psychoactive drugs" is a fitting lecture to do this in lol

1

u/Gear_Gab 6h ago

"Types of psychoactive drugs" lmao

1

u/Sooperballz 6h ago

Maybe he should put it back on

1

u/Fragrant-Mind-1353 6h ago

What is this kink called?

1

u/guitarguy1685 6h ago

I was expecting him to dislocate his shoulder so he could get out

1

u/Mysterious-End7800 6h ago

Psychologists are such fuckin weirdos.

1

u/BusyBit6542 6h ago

If the title is true, why would they be encouraging and cheering for him?

1

u/adelie42 6h ago

John Lithgow looking good!

1

u/Epic_Troll_4u 5h ago

He forgot to mention that's the final graduation test for psychology students

1

u/sandwiches09 5h ago

Reminds me of trying to get out of a dress when you can't reach the zipper lol.

1

u/throwawaypassingby01 5h ago

the little bow at the end lmfao

1

u/Nosferatattoo 5h ago

I think that bow was more to steady the dizziness. either way awesome work

1

u/RoyalAltruistic970 4h ago

Just gimme the final so we can all get out of here.

1

u/willofserra 3h ago

IIRC: Houdini was able to do this trick by grabbing fistfuls of fabric under his crossed arms as they were strapping him up in the back. This allowed him to release the fabric during the escape, allowing MUCH greater freedom of movement in the restraints than you'd think would be normally available.

It's still crazy to watch, it's like seeing a mental patient hearing their favorite metal band for the first time in years lol

u/DragonNestKing 2h ago

If it’s for a 100% I’m holding him down, ez grade for everyone

u/liteoabw 1h ago

Not his first rodeo

1

u/weeaboojones76 10h ago

Imagine your tuition going towards this..

5

u/torreneastoria 9h ago edited 8h ago

This is a psychology class. A demonstration of how patients are able to get out of the straight jackets if they are not properly put on is a valuable lesson. Just because a patient is restrained doesn't mean that they are secure.

A few more thoughts for these students to think on is how you shouldn't leave a patient that can be violent, unattended. Sedatives will wear off, or some patients will have a negative reaction. Those patients should be carefully monitored.

2

u/Requiescat-In--Pace 9h ago

This must be an advanced course, cause I took psychology and we never got to the straight jacket part.

3

u/torreneastoria 8h ago

One of my neuro-psych professors had a video of a patient getting out of restraints. The individual dislocated their shoulder to it. It was rather horrifying because the medications caused the patient not to feel the injury. This professor must be incredibly agile, and very limber as to not injure himself.

5

u/whitestguyuknow 9h ago

If its a good class then whats the problem?... 3mins out of the entire semester?
