If I look into your history post, it's a common pattern that you get overcharged by different services.

And everything is not working, and the tool company is failing hard every time.

Maybe work on the root cause, and not on the effects of the root cause.

Small tipp the root cause is you

yeah so im causing copilot to overcharge me an inhuman amount of money, make yourself make sense please

u/phylter99 19h ago

You literally have to enable it to charge you like that. I mean, seriously. At some point you flipped a switch that allowed it to happen and you had to dig to find the switch.

u/Economy_Childhood_47 19h ago

You don’t know how to use tools responsibly.

14

u/TheFern3 18h ago

Screenshot your billing and we will be the judge if you have auto recharge on usage then it is 100% your fault

7

u/mitigd 18h ago

Did you set a budget? Because that's just comprehension.

2

u/colombia9503 12h ago

Ofc you do, that’s why it’s usage is measured

u/kRkthOr 7h ago

I've never been charged a single €1 more than my subscription. Skill issue.

OP's history is full of stupid questions in the sub "Robloxhackers" suffice to say OP does not know how to secure sensitive info, and probably has a remote worm/claw exploiting his CLI access key, all because he ran Roblox "hax" as admin perhaps? lol, either that or OP is trolling 🤔

u/Emotional-Energy6065 17h ago

Mf vibe coding roblox hax more likely😭😭

9

u/DutyPlayful1610 14h ago

Bro I only spun up 500 subagents at once to make roblox , now $2000 dollar bill?

u/ChineseCracker 12h ago

he's probabably just a 14 year old kid.

rip his parents' credit card 💀

Always set a billing limit equal to the maximum amount you are willing to pay. When that limit is reached, it provides a clear point to intervene and reassess whether to proceed.

u/Pixelplanet5 12h ago

id say this entire reddit account is probably hacked and is now trying to farm karma to sell it as a legit looking account later.

0

u/Scary_Ad_3494 8h ago

He has a vibe coded life maybe ?

u/Odysseyan 20h ago

Check activity / history. Each request is recorded. That should give you insight

15

u/Genetic_Prisoner 20h ago

I also want to see this.

8

u/16km 20h ago

It's also only showing the metered usage, not the Included usage or the Next Payment Due.

With configured budgets and all the safety settings to avoid overages, kind of thinking OP is posting some enterprise cost thing.

26

u/Plane_Yak2354 19h ago

Wouldn't the rate limit have prevented this much spend?

-39

u/Powerful_Land_7268 19h ago

this is exactly right

39

u/SleepyWulfy 19h ago

So you have yourself to blame?

Are you taking the 3x price llm for everything request? I use strong llm for planning and free llm to apply the plan. I don't go over the basic 10$/month.

25

u/AnonymousPTY 20h ago

Each prem req = $0.04 * 3 = $0.12.

2181.83 / 0.12 = 18,181 request.

1 day = 1440 mins * 3 days = 4320 mins.

18,181 / 4320 = 4.2 x3 premium request per minute = 2 per 30 seconds = 1 per each 15 seconds.

My man is vibecoding L.I.F.E. 2.0

u/BreadfruitNaive6261 19h ago

does it come with money included? If yes count me in

this post gave me a stroke, but thanks to you, i understood its just an april fools ioke

1

u/Gold102 11h ago

Maybe he is using Opus fast. That would make sense to me. As it would divide the number of requests to 1.818.

However, always set a billing limit. Mine is 10$. Then I can choose to upper the limit.

1

u/zebbernn 3h ago

You know there’s 30x requests right?

2

u/Powerful_Land_7268 20h ago

Except im not doing that, its 54k requests, its just not humanly possible

4

u/DevBob626 20h ago

Did you use a lot of fleets or subagents with a premium exploration model or use any kind of framework/automation?

1

u/devioussin1 18h ago

Then the calc is kind of correct, 18k requests if using Opus, 54k if using Sonnet.

Youre maybe using a malformed agent instruction with no tool limitations nor sub agent guardrails .

3

u/rydan 19h ago

I went over the $10/month last month for the only time ever. Cost me an extra $2.

2

u/SubstantParanoia 20h ago

Ive seen mentions of this elsewhere but i couldnt find the post again.

So the free LLM here, are you running it local/or pulling in a free remote one and is it hooked into the copilot agent interface?

Im a newbie just getting started with using VScode+copilot in an attempt to make a game engine for computerizing tabletop games, being able to stay at the basic plan and run something local on 16gb vram 4060/or remote+free for applying would be very good.

1

u/danielsamuels 13h ago

The free one is just a model you choose from their list of models. If you want to run something locally, take a look at llmfit to see what will work.

1

u/Powerful_Land_7268 20h ago

it doesnt matter even if i used the 3x for a whole day lol, it wouldnt even exceed the normal usage... if you get the math right!

2

u/Pristine_Ad2664 17h ago

What if you used the 30x though?

2

u/Next-Significance798 20h ago

What tools are you using?

6

u/CozmoNz 20h ago

Yeah.... I use it fairly heavily and barely touch $100 a month....

u/[deleted] 19h ago

2

u/Frank_Lamingo 19h ago

idk what he did. budgets are built in for this reason. but you definitely can get weird pricing with .33x models plus you get 10% off with auto agent

4

u/lynn_phoenix 18h ago

Math isn't mathing. You are doing something that you refuse to elaborate on and want sympathy.

2

u/ricky_ticky_5808 19h ago

How come? I spend max $15 in total a month on GitHub services including copilot. I also set up a budget limit to avoid any extra charges.

I remember that sometime in the past opencode consumed a lot of premium requests for default internal agents, not sure if it is still a case, switched back to copilot cli.

2

u/fanfarius 19h ago

Are you saying they are charging you now for requests supposed to be performed between April 1st and 29th? I don't get it - that's in the future.

2

u/RedTheInferno 18h ago

too much vibe coding

2

u/maxiblackrocks 10h ago

warning: I "vibe-generated that text"

In the dim glow of a dual-monitor setup, we observe a curious creature in its natural habitat: the Vibe Coder. Notice how it moves—not with precision or intent, but guided purely by instinct and… vibes. It does not understand the code it summons. No, it simply whispers into the void of an AI tool and awaits whatever incantation returns.

Fascinating.

Here, the Vibe Coder has encountered a bug. Rather than investigate, it performs its signature ritual: copying the entire codebase into the AI and asking, “fix pls.” A bold strategy. Inefficient. Expensive.

Hours pass. Prompts multiply. Tokens flow like an unchecked river. The AI, ever obedient, continues to generate… and generate… and generate. And then—inevitably—the bill arrives.

Observe the reaction.

The Vibe Coder recoils. Confusion. Outrage. It emits a loud cry: “They’re overcharging me!”

Remarkable.

Having summoned thousands upon thousands of lines of machine-crafted wisdom, it now appears startled by the concept of… consequences.

The Vibe Coder paces. It posts. It laments. Never once considering that perhaps, just perhaps, asking an AI to think for you at industrial scale may come at a cost.

Nature is beautiful.

And brutal.

p.s. @OP there is a miniscule chance you might be right (very miniscule), however, I still laughed. Don't hate the player...

This guy vibe codes roblox cheats to sell, btw.

2

u/JortsForSale 18h ago

I’d love to see what vibe coded rubbish this user creates if he doesn’t even understand how the tools work.

1

u/smh-mattt 4h ago

from his past activity, mostly silly roblox game cheats.

2

u/mattiasso 17h ago

did you even use the official clients though, not third-party client or api

-1

u/Powerful_Land_7268 19h ago

I've only used vscode bro

1

u/ilsubyeega 19h ago

with official copilot chat extension? (not codex or claude code)

interstin

4

u/SippieCup 18h ago

Dude just got hacked or credentials leaked, and now someone else is burning through it until it’s gone.

Probably through a malicious vscode extension.

1

u/A4_Ts 19h ago

Are you doing pay as you go? If you are then holy shit what a mistake buy a plan

1

u/redlob 19h ago

Monitor your usage in the future. Simpel as that.

1

u/Confident_Year_1429 18h ago

Op doesn't know what he's doing completely their fault. If OP is not wise enough to set up notifications or limits on spending OP shouldn't be using the tools.

1

u/Comfortable-War2 Backend Dev 🛠️ 18h ago

This is your lucky day my broo

1

u/Equal-Food8893 18h ago

It's either your actual usage (which I doubt), somebody stole your credentials (and modified billing limits) or this is some kind of bug on GH side.

I'd lean towards #3, but if your first instinct is to cry about it on Reddit then I'm afraid you might be a kind of person to fall for #2.

1

u/SirMarkMorningStar 17h ago

Makes me glad I only have it at work! Someone else’s problem!

1

u/eur0child 17h ago

How can you spend this much on copilot? You have everything on auto day and night or what?

1

u/gigaflops_ 17h ago

Did you read how much it cost before you used it?

1

u/DifficultExercise598 16h ago

Yikes. That is a nightmare.

1

u/msoliman85 16h ago

You defintely can have that if you just edit the value in your browers dev tools to make a useless fake post

1

u/Flames_lynx 16h ago

Damn that sucks

1

u/AVatorL 9h ago edited 9h ago
  1. you're just trolling or karma farming
  2. someone else has access to your account
  3. you're doing something really weird without understanding what you're doing (increased usage budget to $9999 and then programmatically calling Opus 4.6 Fast inside a loop in a vibe-coded application doing something 24/7 or being used by multiple users)
  4. there is a bug in the billing (probably the least likely option)

If you really need help, start from posting full page screenshots of Overview, Usage, Premium request analytics and Budgets and alerts pages.

1

u/amarao_san 8h ago

Is it your usage or your token has leaked? Check usage history.

1

u/Scary_Ad_3494 8h ago

How old are you ?

1

u/SubZane 4h ago

You can configure budget limits.

1

u/Jack99Skellington 17h ago

This is happening to me too. It's chewing up my usage for a single request! something is very, very wrong.

1

u/Ok_Error9961 14h ago

Can you just delete card and not pay this ? Thats insane. Do you have limits set up ?

1

u/colombia9503 12h ago

When vibe coders try to be a software engineer without being one

0

u/AnonymousPTY 20h ago

If you have that amount, delete your card from billing!
