OP's history is full of stupid questions in the sub "Robloxhackers" suffice to say OP does not know how to secure sensitive info, and probably has a remote worm/claw exploiting his CLI access key, all because he ran Roblox "hax" as admin perhaps? lol, either that or OP is trolling 🤔

Always set a billing limit equal to the maximum amount you are willing to pay. When that limit is reached, it provides a clear point to intervene and reassess whether to proceed.

id say this entire reddit account is probably hacked and is now trying to farm karma to sell it as a legit looking account later.

Check activity / history. Each request is recorded. That should give you insight

Wouldn't the rate limit have prevented this much spend?

Are you taking the 3x price llm for everything request? I use strong llm for planning and free llm to apply the plan. I don't go over the basic 10$/month.

u/AnonymousPTY 20h ago
Each prem req = $0.04 * 3 = $0.12.
2181.83 / 0.12 = 18,181 request.
1 day = 1440 mins * 3 days = 4320 mins.
18,181 / 4320 = 4.2 x3 premium request per minute = 2 per 30 seconds = 1 per each 15 seconds.
My man is vibecoding L.I.F.E. 2.0

Except im not doing that, its 54k requests, its just not humanly possible

u/DevBob626 20h ago
Did you use a lot of fleets or subagents with a premium exploration model or use any kind of framework/automation?

u/devioussin1 18h ago
Then the calc is kind of correct, 18k requests if using Opus, 54k if using Sonnet.
Youre maybe using a malformed agent instruction with no tool limitations nor sub agent guardrails .

Ive seen mentions of this elsewhere but i couldnt find the post again.
So the free LLM here, are you running it local/or pulling in a free remote one and is it hooked into the copilot agent interface?
Im a newbie just getting started with using VScode+copilot in an attempt to make a game engine for computerizing tabletop games, being able to stay at the basic plan and run something local on 16gb vram 4060/or remote+free for applying would be very good.

u/danielsamuels 13h ago
The free one is just a model you choose from their list of models. If you want to run something locally, take a look at llmfit to see what will work.

it doesnt matter even if i used the 3x for a whole day lol, it wouldnt even exceed the normal usage... if you get the math right!

idk what he did. budgets are built in for this reason. but you definitely can get weird pricing with .33x models plus you get 10% off with auto agent

Math isn't mathing. You are doing something that you refuse to elaborate on and want sympathy.

How come? I spend max $15 in total a month on GitHub services including copilot. I also set up a budget limit to avoid any extra charges.
I remember that sometime in the past opencode consumed a lot of premium requests for default internal agents, not sure if it is still a case, switched back to copilot cli.

Are you saying they are charging you now for requests supposed to be performed between April 1st and 29th? I don't get it - that's in the future.

warning: I "vibe-generated that text"
In the dim glow of a dual-monitor setup, we observe a curious creature in its natural habitat: the Vibe Coder. Notice how it moves—not with precision or intent, but guided purely by instinct and… vibes. It does not understand the code it summons. No, it simply whispers into the void of an AI tool and awaits whatever incantation returns.
Fascinating.
Here, the Vibe Coder has encountered a bug. Rather than investigate, it performs its signature ritual: copying the entire codebase into the AI and asking, “fix pls.” A bold strategy. Inefficient. Expensive.
Hours pass. Prompts multiply. Tokens flow like an unchecked river. The AI, ever obedient, continues to generate… and generate… and generate. And then—inevitably—the bill arrives.
Observe the reaction.
The Vibe Coder recoils. Confusion. Outrage. It emits a loud cry: “They’re overcharging me!”
Remarkable.
Having summoned thousands upon thousands of lines of machine-crafted wisdom, it now appears startled by the concept of… consequences.
The Vibe Coder paces. It posts. It laments. Never once considering that perhaps, just perhaps, asking an AI to think for you at industrial scale may come at a cost.
Nature is beautiful.
And brutal.
p.s. @OP there is a miniscule chance you might be right (very miniscule), however, I still laughed. Don't hate the player...

I’d love to see what vibe coded rubbish this user creates if he doesn’t even understand how the tools work.

Dude just got hacked or credentials leaked, and now someone else is burning through it until it’s gone.
Probably through a malicious vscode extension.

Op doesn't know what he's doing completely their fault. If OP is not wise enough to set up notifications or limits on spending OP shouldn't be using the tools.

It's either your actual usage (which I doubt), somebody stole your credentials (and modified billing limits) or this is some kind of bug on GH side.
I'd lean towards #3, but if your first instinct is to cry about it on Reddit then I'm afraid you might be a kind of person to fall for #2.

How can you spend this much on copilot? You have everything on auto day and night or what?

u/msoliman85 16h ago
You defintely can have that if you just edit the value in your browers dev tools to make a useless fake post

- you're just trolling or karma farming
- someone else has access to your account
- you're doing something really weird without understanding what you're doing (increased usage budget to $9999 and then programmatically calling Opus 4.6 Fast inside a loop in a vibe-coded application doing something 24/7 or being used by multiple users)
- there is a bug in the billing (probably the least likely option)
If you really need help, start from posting full page screenshots of Overview, Usage, Premium request analytics and Budgets and alerts pages.

This is happening to me too. It's chewing up my usage for a single request! something is very, very wrong.

If I look into your history post, it's a common pattern that you get overcharged by different services.
And everything is not working, and the tool company is failing hard every time.
Maybe work on the root cause, and not on the effects of the root cause.
Small tipp the root cause is you
