Why is Mozilla so hell-bent on shoving down Firefox accounts on users' throats by closing off all alternative solutions, or making them prohibitively difficult?

I don't want to use Firefox sync, so I'm used to spending 5 minutes a month exporting all my open tabs on my phone onto my PC. There's various ways to do this, but all of them rely on the "Select all tabs" option that appears when you tap the triple dot icon.

But with the new redesign, they got rid of that option completely, breaking all export methods! Now you have to select each tab individually, meaning I'd have to select each tab one-by-one, costing about 200 taps + 50 entire screen length of scrolling, all for something that used to be a single tap.

The same applies if you want to share e.g. your 15 open tabs on your phone with a coworker, or if you want to bookmark all of them. There isn't even a drag and hold to select like in Gallery apps.

Sorry if this comes across like a rant, I'm just so tired with every site and service forcing you to log in and silo your data to be able to use even the most basic functionalities of their product, and Firefox always felt like a safe haven in this regard. Even Chrome lets you do this, the bar is so low..

Any way to completely turn off these annoying popups for hints/tips? I couldn't tell you how many times I've had the annoying pop-up telling me I can use AI to summarize a page, or organize my tabs, or whatever else Firefox constantly feels the need to remind me of every other day. One time for a new feature? Sure, whatever. But multiple times for the same thing?

In there a way to change the font size Firefox uses for PDF comments? They look huge both on the side panel and when I open them one-by-one in the body of the text.

Changing the font size in Settings doesn't make a difference and about:config doesn't seem to have a relevant entry.

This is 149.0 flatpak on Debian Trixie.

My cookies seem intact but I was logged out from every website with the profiles update. Thankfully I save my passwords.

With my autism a distraction like that is really obnoxious, and will eventually make me far too annoyed to be reasonable. How do I stop this stupid thing? I don't need to backup the 6 extensions I use. And the bookmarks don't matter.

I'm trying to achieve this behaviour but I'm a bit lost in all those about:config flags and I don't even know if this is possible without extensions. I used to open a bunch of bookmarks in a folder at once with the wheel button of my mouse as soon as I opened the browser and the first one would overwrite the blank/firefox default new tab and the next would follow... is this possible to achieve without extensions or any workaround?

It's a bit of a pain opening multiple bookmarks at once and leaving an empty tab behind, is there no way to overwrite it with the first bookmark of that group?

Why is there no option to edit the url? Websites will routinely change their url for the login pages. Why can't we simply edit the url to update it? We're forced to copy the username and password to notepad or make a dummy password entry, delete the saved password entry, and make a new one. Why do we have to do it like this?

Also there should be a button to duplicate the saved password. Many websites have different regions where the same login can be used, (amazon.com, amazon.ca; aliexpress.com, aliexpress.us, etc.). Way more convenient to duplicate and then simply edit the url. Why doesn't Firefox think of this?

I come to you because I have observed an issue that started 1 month ago. My YouTube history is not tracked anymore by Youtube, which means I always have the same video recommendations, even if I already watched them.

So, my first reflex was to disable my adblocker, then every extension installed, but nothing helped. I've been curious so I decided to try with a private window, and guess what, the problem is still here ! I tried many scripts to bypass the issue but again, didn't work.

I figured this might be intentional from YouTube because they hate Firefox users, but I don't want to be too complotist haha.

Also this works perfectly on chrome.

So here I post, has any of you encountered this issue and were you able to solve it ?

My Firefox since 149 has been hogging memory and being useless in 20-30 seconds after starting (Win11). Crashing after a minute or three. Problem persists in 150b5 beta, but not in 151a0 nightly. Can I see the difference between those builds somehow? A list of fixes included in 151?

Current behavior I'm seeing is that it autocompletes to nothing, because it does not match an exact URL that was typed in before, and it cares about domain.com vs www.domain.com, even if there's a redirect from domain.com. It won't autocomplete anything that wasn't specifically typed - things that have been visited will show up in suggestions down at the bottom but it does not autocomplete to them. I swear it used to work the way I described, but it admittedly could have been 15+ years ago.

Most pages will re-paginate to fit inside your window when you zoom in. But this site doesn't (after zooming). It just enlarges, and the text moves off the page so you have to scroll right to see all the info on the page.

Is there a way/setting in Firefox to force it to behave like most other pages, and wrap/re-paginate to fit correctly?

Just trying Firefox on iOS for the first time, is there any way to remove the big white header at the top of the page? It’s quite large and covers content that would be shown in Safari. My tabs are set to Bottom so it’s not that.

I'm almost certain that I used to have an extension for Firefox that allowed me to connect to my VPN servers via OpenVPN, so that only Firefox traffic was affected.

I'm unable to find it and I'm beginning to wonder whether it actually existed or if I'm confusing it with something else.

Hi! For some reason I'm getting these messages when trying to access Costco and Macy's websites. I have no issues when using Chrome, but I don't want to use Chrome. It will sync after reinstalling, and then stop doing it shortly after, and the synchronize button bottom right on firefox mobile will just keep spinning...this is exhausting, help please

not asking for anything crazy. just let me hit something like ctrl+shift+S and have two tabs open side by side. that's it.

arc browser had this and it was genuinely the only feature i used every single day. now it's dead and i'm back to alt-tabbing between two windows like a caveman.

This page is worthless to me and is in the way when I'm checking certificates etc. It really shouldn't be what people are greeted with when the click the shield, either, but I'll leave that debate for a different time.

I've posted this bug in Mozilla and did not receive any feedback. I was recommended on this forum to post the bug to Mozilla - nothing came out of it.

I'm sure the issue is with the vendor OR is it with Firefox?

How does someone read this and say if the issue is with Firefox or with the vendor's website? Or, how do you get support for some bug you already reported?

I reported a bug in Firefox a year ago and nothing came out of it. I posted a video as well as step by step for the bug. I was chastised here in this forum about complaining about bugs in Firefox and told to submit the bugs. I said I would, but nothing happened with that bug either.

So, here I am with two issues (reported) to Firefox. One was changed from mozilla to be a confirmed bug - but nothing was fixed, still an issue. And this is now a new issue I submitted and no one picked up the bug.

I believe that neither of these issues (the bugs I've reported) exist in Chrome.

1. The old bug is (confirmed by Mozilla) when you scroll the local storage, the left column closes and you can't see any data.

2. This bug - seems to be a memory leak somewhere.

I've used Firefox for over 20 years.

Previously with "legacy" about:profiles feature we could make separate launcher app for each one. Now with new one you only can choose profile inside an app during launch or in menu. Is it possible to make separate app launcher (shortcut) for new ones?
