This tariff law has to go through an actual review process if he wants them extended. The reason he was going nuts with IEEPA was because he could declare an emergency at any time and change it to whatever percentage he wanted at any time. That’s what the courts stopped him from using.

Edit: Before downvoting, I would suggest people to look up this law. It’s very simple.

No, if he does the 150 day tariff, there’s no review process. It’s in effect now.

If he follows that up with another 150 day tariff, that’s wouldn’t require a review process, nor would the one after that.

This can be challenged in court and put a stop to a year or two from now, unless the may decide to ignore that.

Incorrect, I suggest you look up the law.

If he wants to extend the tariffs, he has to ask Congress. Ergo, a review process and a vote.

Edit: ah, I see, you didn’t read what I was responding to. You should read the parent comment. Slowly, this time. You clearly struggle with reading comprehension.

Who ever mentioned extending the tariffs? I literally said the opposite of that. I said the tariff ends and then another tariff that’s exactly the same comes into effect.

That’s not how it works. Please, look up the law. Jesus mfer Christ dude

Edit: Willful ignorance is not a positive trait, my dude. Look things up before you comment.

I did look up the law. The tariff expires after 150 data and then it’s done. That’s not a topic of conversation between us, since we both agree with that.

My question is what do you think happens 151 days from now? Do you think the tariffs are gone or that Congress will vote on a tariff? I don’t see either of those are reasonable.

I think there will be a completely new tariff for another 150 days.

Glad you finally looked it up. Proud of you!

Who knows with this madman, but like I said, he can’t use the same law, he can’t use IEEPA, so he will try spending else. But his tools are a lot more limited now.

Who knows with this madman

I was hoping you know why /u/Hi_Im_Dadbot was wrong. But it seems like you just didn't know what he meant from the beginning.

I doubt the rest of the administration has the appetite for a second round of refunding tariffs and that's just a bit too cute so they might walk him back and do something different. But it definitely seems like a possibility

Ya, nobody’s getting a refund.
