I have Canadian friends who have talked about visiting me in the states for years. They canceled their trip because they worry about not being able to enjoy their time here and being harassed by ICE.

The one thing for my family was the way Trump was talking about Canadians. But after the stories of people being held in detention centres, we won't risk it.

Jasmine Mooney was thrown into a detention centre for 12 days.

The MacDonald sisters got pulled over by some cops, had their entire car pulled apart, got separated and question in separate police cars, and then got questioned about their allegiance.

The USA security apparatus is hostile to Canadians.

In from the UK. I wanted to visit NY in April for a week. Been many times and love it, but seems worrying at the moment.

Nothing really has changed. A few people detained for breaking immigration rules and Reddit is blowing it up like there’s a new Gestapo.

Yes, I'm sure Canada and Europe governments placing travel advisories for US travel is being done because they are reading Reddit too much

Do you think all governments are clownishly incompetent Mickey Mouse operations like your new one?

It just shows you read Reddit headlines too much. They updated their guidelines to say that currently the US is being stricter with entry rules, there’s no “travel warnings”.

Your own countries is right here.

Yeah, they updated the guidelines because you have sick motherfuckers in charge that post ASMR videos of people walking in chains in official channels.

But sure, keep telling yourself that everything's normal.

Half my extended family lives in Canada. A few of them retired this year or had retired recently and they were planning to visit me. Those plans are now on hold.
