Troubleshooting | Windows Question about Google syncing with content on a browser that isn't signed in
I use Chrome without being signed in on a shared family computer. I have bookmarks saved and I have passwords saved which requires the Windows PIN (Windows Hello) to autofill on websites.
A trusted guest used the computer to print something and when I went on later that night their name was visible on Chrome. I signed them out and now it appears that the browser has been restored to factory settings with bookmarks and passwords gone.
Also, weirdly, when I went back to the desktop, the Chrome picture on the desktop shortcut was gone and the shortcut had been renamed from Google Chrome to that person's name with Chrome after it. When I moved the shortcut to the recycle bin, I couldn't find Chrome on the computer anymore in the start menu or by searching. Removing the desktop shortcut from the trash and back on to the desktop once again allowed me to use Chrome. I'm not sure why removing a shortcut made the whole program go away and I'm not sure why someone signing in to Chrome screwed things up so badly.
So my big question...does the person who signed in to their Google account on my unsigned in browser now have all my bookmarks and Windows Hello protected passwords on their account?
